What would be a good way to incorporate a flower into a word tattoo going vertically down my side (ribs)? I like the idea of a peony but I'm not dead set on it or anything. Put as many ideas as you have and pictures are awesome too :)

Answer
Personally, I think any vine flower would work well. Morning glories are a perfect example of this. And they're gorgeous. Here are a couple of photos and drawings:

Also, incorporating ivy in with any flower could add a nice touch: http://www.zhippo.com/AllStarBodyArtHOSTED/images/gallery/11vineedit.jpg.

Hope this helped a bit. I also hope it turns out well!

Q. For a paper i have to write, i am trying to recall various forms of media that have portrayed women with tattoos.

Not actresses themselves with tattoos- but characters in all types of film. I am researching the "types" of women who have had tattoos to gain an understanding of how the media portrays tattoos on women in general.

So what movies/shows/music videos have you seen chicks with tats??

Answer
Abby Sciuto - NCIS
Pheobe Hallowell - Charmed (yes, I watched Charmed...)

What do women and men think about really pretty girls with tattoos? How does it make them look?

ankle tattoos for women designs on Home - Tattoo Designs For Women
ankle tattoos for women designs image

Nikki

What do you think of really pretty girls with a tattoo, not tons. just 1?

like on her back (not a tramp stamp), ankle, shoulder etc. not in places that are easily seen, nothing bigger than a hand?

Answer
What is the difference between a "really pretty girl" with tattoos and an appearantly not so pretty girl with tattoos? It's still just a tattoo on a woman. Size, gender, amount and design with obviously offensive intention aside: it makes no difference. She is still who she is, just with a tattoo. I have two tattoos and most people wouldn't expect it from me in a million years. Mine are hidden 99% of the time (along my spine and ankle) so when they are seen I get mixed reactions but really don't care what anyone else thinks because they are for me and me only. Even the horribly nicknamed tramp stamp doesn't change a girl, it's just a tattoo and only makes the stereo types live longer.

-Reading back through, my answer could be taken as pissy but it's not meant to be. Just making a case that there is no reason why anyone should care if a girl has a tattoo.

Where can a woman get a tattoo and have it not look at all trashy?

Q. My brothers, my sister and I are getting matching tattoos of our family motto, and my sis and I can't decide where we want ours to go. It's a pretty small design, and we'd like the option of covering it at times. And I'm not a skinny girl, so that rules out a few places. Ideas anyone?

Answer
Do not worry about it looking trashy. If a person hates tattoos, theyre going to tell you it looks trashy no matter where you put it. (disreguard those people, they suck). On your upper back would be cute, or on your ankle, or foot? (im not skinny either, i have one on my ankle, and on my foot). The foot one is easy to cover (obviously) and even though I hate feet....I think foot tattoos are cute.

what are your favorite lyric quotes from the band Atmosphere?

Sam

Atmosphere has several "sick" lyrics, but what are your favorites?

Answer
"Everytime i've been burned, I got a lot to teach, but even more to learn"
-Woman With the Tattooed Hands

I will show you all you need to know
You must hold on to anyone that wants you
And I will love you through simple and the struggle
But girl, you got to understand the modern man must hustle
-Modern Mans Hustle (chorus)

And the jobs ain't really too hard to find
In fact, you could have mine if you knew how to rhyme
-Say Shh

and my favorite,

"Which brings me to the issue
And that would be this:
How often must I ask myself why I exist?
I feel like a freak, this world is a circus
Just trying to find myself as well as my purpose"

How would you perceive an attractive female with a not so girly tattoo?

Nikki

but not manly at all! just not the average hearts, butterflies, all that unoriginal stuff (no offense they look cute and all!) haha

something alittle more. for example a tattoo like angelina's, megan fox's tats etc?

i personally love them and it makes them a little endearing and mysterious, its not something you'd expect from a pretty girl. makes her unique

def. badass! what do you guys think? just curious?

Answer
i personally think that not so feminine tattoos are hot on women, and all the guys ive dated would def. agree.

most of the guys ive dated or been interested in, ive met because they noticed my tattoos and were intrigued, which is not very common for pretty young girls to be very heavily tattooed. [i mean, two sleeves, full chest piece, feet, ribs, one calf, piece on the neck behind the ear.. pretty heavy]

i mean, you'll never be able to get EVERYONE you ask to agree that theyre hot or not, but from my experience and from people i know, heavy tattoos or not feminine tattoos on women are extremely hot.

at the same time, i do get weird looks, or ive had an old woman say to me "those are for ugly girls" or things like that. i do have people ask "why such a pretty young girl would do that to herself", so yes, there will always be haters. but get a tattoo for yourself, not for the rest of society!!

tattoos are also starting to be a lot more socially acceptable these days-- almost everyone, even a community's most-respected people, are getting tatted up now!

What is the Sexiest/Best place for a tattoo on a woman?

ally

I am thinking about getting a tattoo but i want to know everyones opinion on the "best" place for one.

(it will look like two cherries with a connected stem that has thorns with one leaf on it but instead of cherries it will be two hearts)

Answer
Its a tipical spot but i find that on the neck or shoulders is sexy and they're right about the lower back dont put it there it'll be called a tramp stamp, which i think is bogus cuz i got one there but i didnt know it had a meaning. I got my last names (my moms and my dads last names) in the lower part of my back but i didnt know that it was called a tramp stamp. oh well.......still my next one i will get on the base of my neck or on my shoulder then i'll get one on the hip bone and i want one on my foot by my pinkie toe i think tattoos look cute there. Good Luck with your tat! i'm sure where ever you decide to get it it'll look great!

Is it safe to tattoo the outside of your vagina on the top?

tattoos for girls private on Tattoo Design Gallery: Tattoos For Girls - Enhance Your Beauty!
tattoos for girls private image

Deanna F

I want to tattoo the area on top of the outside part of my vagina. What about hair growth there? When the tattoo is healing the hair is probably gonna grow back. Will waxing ruin the tatto after it's healed? How much do you think it will cost? Any info will be appreciated thanks.

Answer
Hey there!
I'm guessing you're talking about your pubic area?
It is almost completely safe. I say almost, because there is a chance that you are allergic to the chemicals in tattoo ink. The hair there should be gone. You could shave it or wax it. In SOME tattoo parlors, the artist will shave it for you. The hair will continue to grow back, because the needle doesn't pierce the skin deep enough to damage the hair follicle. Waxing only affects the outermost layer of skin. The skin will shed as time passes anyways, so waxing shouldn't matter as long as it's completely healed.
The cost differs between parlors. Most parlors charge by hour. Somewhere between $50-300 per hour. Most will not be as high as 300, but there's still some. The more detail your tattoo has, the more it will cost. Color will also cost more than black ink.
As for pain, it will probably hurt a lot. :P As I am not a girl, I can not tell you if it will hurt or not, but I'm guessing the skin there is fairly sensitive. Tattoos hurt more on sensitive skin. For example, the skin on your forearm is much tougher than the skin on your underarm, therefore a tattoo on your underarm will hurt much more than on the forearm.

Btw, airbrushed tattoos are only temporary, so you don't have to worry about that. You probably won't get cancer if you go to a clean and reputable parlor. If anything, you'll have an allergic reaction and get the tattoo removed. -_- The tattoo will only hurt during the inking process. It will stay tender during the healing process, but after that, it'll just feel like it did before. Don't wear pants during the healing process, because friction will cause the tattoo to fade. After it's healed then you can wear it. Another little note: a tattoo has nothing to do with urine unless you you get it done on your urethra which makes no sense whatsoever. Haha.
Good luck with your private tattoo. :)

Is it ok to fund raise for your daughter who has cancer and then buy a tattoo?

tracy vega

A friend of mine has a little girl that has cancer. She is always doing fundraisers to help with medical expenses. She has 4 girls total and has no job. She is posting pictures of all her new tatoo's on social media. Who knows if the fundraising money is paying for her new ink. Even if it isn't how can I tell her she is being rude to all the people that are supporting her?

Answer
Non-profit organizations have to submit financial reports. Individuals don't, except for their tax returns, which are private. It could be that your friend has a deal with the tattoo artist, and as far as I know tattoos don't cost nearly as much as cancer treatment. You don't know how much your friend is raising or what she does with the money, If you have money to donate, it might be better if you give it to the American Cancer Society or a group that specializes in the kind of cancer her girl has.

What is your experience with tattoos after pregnancy?

Q. Both my friend and I are considering tattoos on the sides of our stomach and up the side of our chests. But we are concerned about what happens to the tat both during and after pregnancy. Its obviously going to stretch but what will it look like after the weight loss?
Will it be something easily corrected with a touch up from the tattoo artist?

Answer
It really depends on the elasticity of your skin. Every woman is different. Some women don't get any stretchmarks on their belly during pregnancy, however, some women get them from their pelvic area all the way above their belly button. I would say it is a huge risk if you don't know how your skin will appear after having a baby. I would take a look at your mom's stomach to see what the texture is like... it doesn't necessarily mean your skin will be the same as hers, but you will at least get a good idea. Also, if you have sister(s) that have had children, take a look at their bellies as well. One thing to keep in mind... if you get the tattoo and then you become pregnant later on in life and your belly is covered in stretchmarks, you will probably want to keep it hidden anyway... so no one will even notice whether or not your tattoo has "altered" it's shape or appearance. As far as an artist doing a "touch-up"... that won't be easy, because stretch marks are basically scars, and it is difficult to tattoo over scars and have it appear consistent with skin that isn't scarred.

First tattoo... HELP.?

Yuuki

I have a depression problem. I've had it for the longest time; I cut myself, had failed suicide attempts, family problems. I want to get a big tattoo. One that I won't regret, not like a tiny tacky one. I was thinking maybe one on my rib cage of an ugly butterfly turning into a beautiful colorful butterfly. Since a butterfly is the symbol for the self harm awareness. I really want to stop cutting.
Do you think that's a good idea?
Do I need to sketch a picture of my idea to the tattoo artist? I really can not draw too.
Do they charge by the hour or by what the tattoo is?
Should it be on my rib cage or back? (I don't want it to be on my wrist or arm because of job interviews and whatnot.)

Answer
Here's the thing - you seem to think that if you get a big tattoo that you will stop cutting yourself. This isn't how it works. You are fooling yourself.
Yes, a tattoo can help you remind yourself of something or someone or a goal etc. But once it is done healing, you have to make the effort to be aware of it, because you don't feel anything from it, it just acts like normal skin.
Your imagery isn't very good either - like said above, an ugly butterfly does not turn into a pretty butterfly, .. a caterpillar changes into a butterfly.
And just because a tattoo is big does not mean that it is good, or that a tiny one is tacky.
What makes a tattoo great is that it is well thought out, personal, and individual, beautiful imagery and artwork, and a skilled and talented tattoo artist, and that it is properly cared for while it heals and for the rest of your life.

I think that you are trying to use another form of cutting = tattooing = thousands of tiny punctures in the skin, as a way to continue doing what you say that you wish to stop. I think that you think that if it is big, that all of those little punctures will take away whatever is causing you to cut yourself.
This is a delusion.

If you truly wish to stop doing this, and if you truly wish to get better, then you need to quit giving it lip service and you need to go to a professional in psychiatry and set up appointments and follow the mental health advise that is given.
After you are free of cutting and other self destructive activities, then reward yourself with a beautiful and meaningful tattoo if you still choose to get one.

-Charm bracelets (I've seen these and they can be customized to say your names or something different)
-Butterflies
-infinity hearts (look great on the wrist)***
-rag dolls
-two little cartoon, almost anime looking girls holding hand
-flowers
-Japanese symbols for maybe friendship

What is the tattoo policy for the medical field?

tattoos for girls you can hide on Neck Tattoos for Girls
tattoos for girls you can hide image

Marjorie

I want to pursue a career as an Ob/Gyn.
I already have a tattoo along the entire length of my spine, but shirts easily cover it up, or usually about two centimeters still show if anything.
I also want to get a small one on my collar bone, and eventually a sleeve.

Just wanted to know how it would affect my chances or if I could cover them up.

Answer
Just make sure you can cover them up with a normal T shirt and pants...not a turtle neck. So as long as you keep the tattoos under a normal t shirt and long pants you shouldn't have a problem. There is no policy against it in the work place (I have seen an operating room technician with tattoos all over her neck, arms, etc) BUT in school they forbid piercings and tattoos to be shown. I have gone to school for dental hygiene and nursing and in both professions you can't have fake nails, nail polish on, no visible tattoos (but you couldn't wear a turtle neck) so you had to cover them daily with makeup (so best to have tattoos under a typical scrub uniform which is a T shirt size coverage and long scrub pants), and no piercings. The professors also get upset if anyone dyes their hair crazy colors. There was one girl in my program who dyed her hair blond AND dark brown at the same time so she looked like a skunk. She was on the bad side of the professors. You don't want to be judged for how you look so keep the tattoos hidden under clothes so you won't have an issue in college.

What do guys think of girls with a tramp stamp?

Melissa

I have a butterfly tattoo on my back right above my butt, I recently found out it was called a "tramp stamp" and now I am freaking out cause it just sounds so bad.
Guys, I need your real opinion of this please.

Answer
You really shouldn't let that get to you. You define your artwork, not the other way around. Lower back tattoos are very common, but they are also very feminine. Next to the hips, I cant think of a sexier place to get a tatt on a girl. and because other people notice this too, its become a popular place.
Agaisnt the name, there are several other good reasons to tattoo your lower back. 1) its flat and open, theres lots of room for artwork, and maybe even extend to the back 2) like i said its sexy 3) a good place to hide if need be, or to show off
The only excuse not to get a tattoo there is because of the pain, or because you base your life on socail and public acceptance, not meaning tramp stamps are unacceptable in society, just that people like to use things to catagorize and degrade others.

Can you name three evil Women in our history?

Very Vanil

Can you tell me why you think they rank as evil?

Answer
Note: I don't think Eva Braun was so much evil. She was simply a very misguided woman. Think of Nancy Spurgeon to Sid Vicious of the Sex Pistols, but less of an influence on Hitler than Nancy was on Sid. They were alike because they were a "groupie" of a man and social climbers. It's worth noting that Eva was actually, more often than not, unhappy in her "arrangement" relationship with Hitler (she wanted marriage, but he did not because he thought it would soften his image; she served mostly as arm candy and hostess at his villa). Her diary suggests as much as she tried to committ suicide quite often. He only married her just before committing suicide (as did Eva) because he knew Germany was lost, the Nazi party was doomed, and he wanted her to follow him in death.

Here is a list of other evil women in History:

1) Ilse Koch:
âDie Hexe von Buchenwaldâ the Witch of Buchenwald, or âBuchenwälder Schlampeâ the Bitch of Buchenwald was the wife of Karl Koch, commandant of the concentration camps Buchenwald from 1937 to 1941, and Majdanek from 1941 to 1943. Drunk on the absolute power rendered by her husband, she reveled in torture and obscenity. Infamous for her souvenirs; tattoos taken from the murdered inmates (she had a penchant for making these tattooed skins into lampshades), her reputation for debauchery was well earned (it was rumored she sexually assaulted women inmates). After building an indoor sports arena in 1940, with 250,000 marks stolen from inmates, Ilsa was promoted to Oberaufseherin or âchief overseerâ of the few female guards at Buchenwald. She committed suicide by hanging herself at Aichach womenâs prison on September 1, 1967.

2) Queen Mary I Born: 1516; Died: 1558
Mary was the only child of Henry VIII and Catherine of Aragon to live past infancy. Crowned after the death of Edward VI and the removal of The Nine Days Queen-Lady Jane Grey, Mary is chiefly remembered for temporarily and violently returning England to Catholicism. Many prominent Protestants were executed for their beliefs leading to the moniker âBloody Maryâ. Fearing the gallows a further 800 Protestants left the country, unable to return until her death.

3)Tz'u-hsi (also spelled Hsiao-Ch'in or Hsien Huang-Huo or Cixi, also known as the Dowager Princess)
Was a one of Hsien-feng (Xianfeng)'s whores. Had his only son. Her master died and she became a regent for the boy. She had her son killed the before he became of age, then violated the normal succession and had her three year old nephew named the new heir. Soon after that she was made the ruler of China, when her nephew's mother died.
Tzu-Hsi lived in extravagance; she squandered money on banquets, jewels, and other luxuries. She used funds earmarked for the navy to build herself a lavish summer palace. (The lack of military funds contributed to China's defeat in the 1894 Sino-Japanese war.) At the end of her life, her personal jewelry vault held 3,000 ebony boxes of jewels, and she was buried in diamonds.
She commanded the violently anti-foreign secret society "The Boxers" to attack foreign legations in Peking; this siege lasted eight weeks. In return, a mixed foreign force of 19,000 troops battered its way in and captured Peking. Peking was looted, many Chinese people were tortured, raped and killed. Tzu-Hsi fled to Sian. Before fleeing, Tzu-Hsi summoned the emperor's concubines and told them to stay behind. One of them begged to be allowed to accompany the emperor. "Throw this despicable minion down the well!" She ordered the guards. The order was carried-out.
Worked with the military and conservative forces to stage a coup and take power again as active regent, confining her own nephew to his palace. Later as she on her death bed, though old age, she had her nephew poisoned to death.

Joe Tester

A full sleeve tattoo on a woman that is petite and otherwise innocent looking...
Maybe it means nothing? Maybe it says something about her personality, character?
Should I beware? Is she a biker chick? Are her previous boyfriends all huge and scary looking tattoo clad Hells Angels?

What drives a beautiful innocent woman to put a tattoo on her entire arm (sleeve)? Maybe she just likes it, or maybe she is one tough cookie?

Answer
Full sleeve of tattoos on an otherwise ordinary girl.... that sounds awesome to me. I usually see that as a sign that she's quirky in a fun way, but at the same time she is conscious of her appearance and not too weird.

What's the harm in taking her out a few times, get to know her. I would.

what would they appeal my request after some idiot reported my question?

Q. it made me very mad. i asked "what do men think of women with tattooed sleeves?" and someone reported it! i appealed it and they emailed me saying it was a clear violation of community guidelines. why is this?

Answer
That happened to me once and I was surprised just like you that it violated something. It's good if they are specific on the violation. They expect us to read all the rules and find where the violation is that we committed. Glad you complained. You're not the only one.

tattoos for girls in memory of a loved one image

Siobhan

I'm a 17 year old girl, my mother passed away 2 months ago, she was my hero and i miss her a lot.

I've been thinking about getting a tattoo in memory of her. I was thinking maybe a bible verse. Any bible verses that could maybe be appropriate? Or a symbol?

I came across Philippians 1v3 "I praise the lord in remembrance of you.

Any ideas?

Answer
First of all, I'm sorry for your loss. This is something I recommend you really think about and take your time. It's completely understandable that you want to do something in memory of your mother but a tattoo is a huge decision. You want to make sure that you will find a design that you will love for the rest of your life and will be perfect for honoring your mother. What you can do is just sit down and write out things that your mother loved or things and represented her. What was her favorite flower? birth flower? animal? song? color? did she have a favorite saying that she would always tell you growing up? what were her hobbies and passions? You're bound to find something there. You have plenty of time to work on and play around w/ designs and ideas. My husband lost his mother at the age of 12 and he got a tattoo for her when he was 24. Good luck and again I'm sorry.

What do you think of a guys/girls with a tattoo?

Temple

Have you a tattoo or not?

BQ: If a girl were to get a tattoo of a deceased relative, a close relative, on her back, would it still be seen as trashy? Just something to commemorate the memory of someone she lost, nothing to add to her sex appeal.

Answer
I think tattoos on women are often sexy if done right. Now, I'm not exactly up to date on my inking subculture and I couldn't tell you, specifically, what tattooing 'done right' looks like. I just know it when I see it.

I have no tattoos. Not that I am against having them. I just realize they are permanent and I fear I will regret my tattoo choice 10 years from now.

BQ: I don't think that's trashy. People commemorate their beloved, but now deceased, relatives in many ways. Tattooing is just one way. I named my daughter after my beloved, but now deceased, grandmother. Some people may think it's morbid. I think it's a gift to both the memory of my grandmother and to my daughter. Maybe people feel similarly about tattooing in rememberance of ones they loved.

Do you believe that this young generation is doomed?

I need young and old opinions on this. I am 19yrs old and I have seen many things. It's like young people are becoming more sexual, body piercings and tattoo are getting crazy, having family morals are running scarce, having no self respect is on the rise with these younger girls, boys are thinking its a game to have sex for points, and many more things. It's getting sad.

Answer
These days are the NEW SODOM & GOMORRAH. It is ALL about LOSS OF CATHOLICITY. The evils of the latter days will mimic the worst evils which occurred before Our Lord established His Church of Grace, the Mystery of Faith. The Latter Days will be replete with sufferings & persecutions upon the world, & the elect shall barely escape, save that "these days shall be shortened for the sake of the elect."

You are wise to observe the destruction of humanity with these visible signs; the signs are given for those who want them will awake. More lethal are the invisible lack of holiness & virtue, absence of true contrition, defiance of truth, loss of priesthood. Obedience to divine revelation of God's Plan of Redemption is today a phrase that few barely are able to recognize--but most outright REFUSE to recognize! .

In the Latter Days, mankind's hearts are to grow cold.. Self-claimed catholics on this list openly profess "ecumenism" an excommunicable heresy taught by a fraudulent church gone sour. This Novus Ordo Church is the New World Church of Pantheism. New Catholics are blindly led into unbelief; trusting teachings of âpopesâ who lead falsely; none know what they are supposed to believe, & if told, they outright reject doctrine. The "priests" they fear to disobey. God? not so much. Go figure.

Since Vatican 2 all have been âtoldâ that "doctrinal stuff" is over. Because âclericsâ stand at the head of the heresies, the faithful blindly trust them. Little do they know that EVERY heresy in the church has sprung from a CLERIC. It is the faithful who have had to destroy heresy.

The Faithful Catholics know the only safety is to cling to Christ's Church pre-Vatican 2. The devil & his helpers will viciously attack those holding Trent Sacraments --but he already has the rest of the world.. God has given the faithful this period of time in order to obtain valid priests & true sacraments, the only weapon we have. Consult Catholic sants & doctors on the subject (pre-1958).

For a long time now I've wanted a lot of tattoos including my chest area but I don't know what job will let you have tattoos and be able to show them, I was wanting to work in politics more like criminal side of it or something like that but I don't know if they will let you be heavily tattooed. If you know please let me know it would mean a lot to me.

Answer
Most quality jobs do not allow any visible tattoos.
You will find some fast food places, and retail stores, that allow small visible tattoos (as long as they're non offensive).

Of course, tattoo parlors allow you to have a lot of tattoos, and anything where you work for yourself.

There will be some "behind the scenes" jobs (which may be slightly better quality) that allow you to have tattoos, but you would usually be in a cubicle making calls or doing secretarial work.

Now then, you could go into a good office career with lots of tattoos, as long as the dress code either requires or allows you to wear long sleeves, etc.

Having something on your chest shouldn't affect your career opportunities much, as long as it can still be hidden in ordinary clothing (most uniforms have high necks, or button-up collars.

What do you think of tattoos on one's neck and face?

Conversati

I am starting to see more and more young men and women who have tattoos on their neck and face. I also see many with tattoos on their hands. I asked one guy who had many visible tattoos and he told me if you liked tattoos why hide them. So many people seem to be high on tattoos but feel a need to hide them. If they are beautiful why not put them on their face, neck and hands for everyone to see. What do you think?

Answer
i don't think they should be hidden. on the face and neck it depends. I've seen a lot of people, mainly Latino men with tattoos on their neck. i think its fine, it its something meaningful. like their mother's or child's name. I'm not a big fan of face tattoos but on some people they just work, like Kat Von D's stars...they look incredible and I think Mike Tyson just looks stupid. When I get more I'm going to be showing them off all the time. Right now, I have 3 little stars behind my right ear. I would be showing them off a lot more if they still looked like stars, I'm going to be getting them fixed soon and have three more behind my other ear. I'm also going to be getting a trinity knot on my back so when I wear dresses it will show and look really good. I also plan to have a L on one wrist and an M on the other for my grandparents. As well as a few others, one somewhere on my back for my cats.

I have natural curly black hair and I want to dye it blonde myself to save money instead of going to a shop. Which dyes work the best with minimal damage?

Top doctors say you can tell a lot about a personâs health from their hair color:
-Blondes have a higher risk of melanoma, especially on their scalps, and should always wear a hat in direct sunlight.
-Brunettes are more likely to suffer from hair loss, and can help prevent it by getting enough iron (dark leafy vegetables are high in iron).
-And a Harvard study finds redheads may have a 90% greater chance of developing Parkinsonâs Disease because of a specific gene mutation. Housecall for Health, Iâm Colleen Cappon, FOX News Radio. 12-10-12

How bad does a tattoo on the left side of the rib-cage hurt?

tattoos for girls side ribs on Go Forward from Girls Rib Tattoos to Men Rib Tattoos
tattoos for girls side ribs image

Little Mon

I'm going to get 'Don't hide yourself in regret, just love yourself and you're set.' tattooed in cursive on the left side of my rib-cage, in black ink. I've heard a lot of stories saying it hurts really badly. But if it's just a quote, and nothing huge that will require shading, will it still hurt a lot?

Also, will I have to take my shirt completely off for this?

Answer
Lovely quote. The thing you need to know is that rib cage tattoos are not only painful. they are awkward. You need to stay very still for it, i have seen some very screwed up rib tattoos from people being in pain and uncomfortable who moved too much. ALSO, outlines are typically the most painful part of a tattoo, the fill and colour is the easy part. So getting words may not take as long as something super detailed or something huge, but it is all outline.

if you're a girl, the worry with rib tattoos is taking your shirt off. Tattoo artists are used to seeing lots of skin, and they are professionals. It is like going to the doctors, nothing they havent seen hundreds of times. That being said, you want to be comfortable!! covering breast, stomach, whatever you dont like to show is important for your comfort. Ask you artist what he prefers you wear or what you can use to cover yourself. He may recommend taping something over yourself.that's probably what I myself would end up doing because you cant wear a bra because of the strap.

I want something small for my first tattoo and wanted to get people's opinion on where tattoos look good on girls. I want one somewhere that can be covered up. Please dont say tramp stamp ;) I was thinking ankle area, side of my ribs, or back of my neck. Thanks!

Answer
I think the back of the neck looks really nice on girls, as well as the shoulder (on your back, not your arm) or the ankle/foot area as well.

Is getting a cross tattoo a sin?

I am getting a cross tattoo in the middle of my shoulder blades in a couple of months, and I am getting scolded from my great grandparents because its against the Bible and My Father told his people not to mark their bodies. BUT, he also says not to cut your hair. Is their anymore Bible verses that say anything against it?

Answer
They are quoting this verse from the Old Testament Law:

Leviticus 19:28 ââDo not cut your bodies for the dead or put tattoo marks on yourselves. I am the LORD."

However, the writings of Paul (especially Galatians) make it very clear that we are no longer under the Law or its commandments. Christ's death ended the Law. Next time your grandparents bring this up, as them if they eat shrimp. According to the Law, eating shrimp is an abomination to God. So is wearing clothes made of two different kinds of fabric. I'm sure your granny sees nothing wrong with wearing a bra!

Plus, the verse above was referring to pagan religious practices. Cutting and tattooing their bodies was part of their worship of Baal (satan), and God didn't want His people to have any part of it. Today tattooing is done as body ornamentation, not as religious worship.

The verse about cutting a woman's hair is in the New Testament. The passage essentially says that God gave women long hair as a covering, and it is disgraceful for her to chop it off. I have also heard that in Bible days, a lot of the prostitutes had short or even shaved hair, so this verse was telling women not to look like prostitutes. It's a very tricky subject, but the tattoo issue is easy. There's nothing wrong with it.

how long do i have to wait to wash my hair after dying it?

M

i got the tips of my hair dyed red on thursday, after the dye was on the person washed it. Its been 3 days now and im scared if i wash my hair it will fade away. also i put a little bit of water on it to see what would happen and the water was a little bit red. please help me i dont know what to do and i dont want the colour to fade away.

Answer
Unless you're using too many hair products, there's NO NEED to wash your hair EVERYDAY.

I don't! If your hair is curly/wavy, just spray with water, & scrunch and you're good to go!

Red hair dyes are the fastest hair dye to fade.

Sun can fade color-treated hair (invest on a good wide brim hat), chlorine is blue, blonde is yellow, chlorine coats the hair, leaving it green, wear a bathing cap and rinsing your hair right after swimming. Hair products are killers on colored hair deep conditioning the hair once a week to retain moisture. But avoid products with keratin because that can actually harm the hair color. Volumizing products and clarifying shampoos can be too cleansing and can strip the hair of color. Brazilian and Japanese relaxers also limit what you can do with color because they really change the condition of your hair. Don't use Head and Shoulders, Pantene or Suave because of the build-up they can leave and the color-stripping they can do. - InStyle
Myth 9: Summer sun makes your color fade quickly.
True: âBut itâs not just summer sunâno matter what the season, sun can fade your color,â says Dorram-Krause. Harmful UV rays any time of the year can make color fade and can also dehydrate hair. Use a product that contains UV protectors to guard and moisturize your hair every day. If youâre outside for a long time with the sun beating down wear a hat to provide extra protection.

London, Feb 20, 2013 I've been saying that since 2009.
Hair dyes, which include home hair colouring kits and those used at pricey salons, are linked to deadly cancer-causing chemicals, warn scientists. In 2009 the Mail revealed that women who used hair dyes more than nine times a year had a 60% greater risk of contracting blood cancer.
A year later the European Commission banned 22 hair dyes which put long-term users at risk of bladder cancer. < < < <â¨
