I'm a 17 year old girl, my mother passed away 2 months ago, she was my hero and i miss her a lot.

I've been thinking about getting a tattoo in memory of her. I was thinking maybe a bible verse. Any bible verses that could maybe be appropriate? Or a symbol?

I came across Philippians 1v3 "I praise the lord in remembrance of you.

Any ideas?

Answer
First of all, I'm sorry for your loss. This is something I recommend you really think about and take your time. It's completely understandable that you want to do something in memory of your mother but a tattoo is a huge decision. You want to make sure that you will find a design that you will love for the rest of your life and will be perfect for honoring your mother. What you can do is just sit down and write out things that your mother loved or things and represented her. What was her favorite flower? birth flower? animal? song? color? did she have a favorite saying that she would always tell you growing up? what were her hobbies and passions? You're bound to find something there. You have plenty of time to work on and play around w/ designs and ideas. My husband lost his mother at the age of 12 and he got a tattoo for her when he was 24. Good luck and again I'm sorry.

What do you think of a guys/girls with a tattoo?

Have you a tattoo or not?

BQ: If a girl were to get a tattoo of a deceased relative, a close relative, on her back, would it still be seen as trashy? Just something to commemorate the memory of someone she lost, nothing to add to her sex appeal.

Answer
I think tattoos on women are often sexy if done right. Now, I'm not exactly up to date on my inking subculture and I couldn't tell you, specifically, what tattooing 'done right' looks like. I just know it when I see it.

I have no tattoos. Not that I am against having them. I just realize they are permanent and I fear I will regret my tattoo choice 10 years from now.

BQ: I don't think that's trashy. People commemorate their beloved, but now deceased, relatives in many ways. Tattooing is just one way. I named my daughter after my beloved, but now deceased, grandmother. Some people may think it's morbid. I think it's a gift to both the memory of my grandmother and to my daughter. Maybe people feel similarly about tattooing in rememberance of ones they loved.
