I want to get a small tattoo on the side of my finger so that in a serious, formal meeting, I can wear a stylish gaudy ring to cover it up. I was thinking on the right side of my finger on my left hand, but now I am thinking of getting it on the inner part of my finger - like if you were looking at your palm, you would see it, but not if your hand was lying down flat. Which one?

I say don't get one at all...the ink in tattoos tend to bleed a lot easier and a lot faster on fingers than anywhere else. So whatever cute little design you get now will more than likely end up looking like a blob of ink a few years from now, or looking like you've been wearing fake jewelry. But I say on the side of your finger.

What tattoo would look good up a girls side?

With tattoos you want to first talk have an idea of what YOU like. Flowers and butterflies are nice and girly, stars and space is cool. If it doesn't mean anything to you, it won't be special.
I think the best body tattoos should be done with the contours of our body. backgrounds can be done free hand, or should be sketched on paper over the body. A good tattoo artist will work with your body to accent you and your tattoo.

That differs from person to person.

For me, inner beauty and confidence are a turn on. How can I love her if she's not able to love herself? I don't mean someone who can spend money like a drunken sailor for clothing, accessories and makeup, but someone who is happy in her own skin. It's hard to love someone who's insecure and needs constant reassuring about her looks, my affections and her loveability quotient.

My personal turnoffs:

Heavy makeup or cologne.
Women who expect me to spoil them like their Daddy did.
Long fake nails or nails that prevent a woman from doing anything with her hands for fear of ruining her precious French manicure.
Helplessness / childish behavior. (please, let's be adults here)
Excesssive tattoos or piercings.

What do girls think of guys that have tattoos?

I'm an 18 year old guy and I have a few tattoos already but I was just wondering what girls/women nowadays actually think about tattoos. I mean, it's not going to change my opinion about getting tattoos or affect what tattoos I get, I was just curious.

And I'm adding this in here as a little note: I hate tribal tattoos, Celtic tattoos, and armbands (among others). I will never get them.

Well, I'm an 18 year old girl and I have one tattoo and maybe getting one or two more in my future. I personally admire men who have tattoo's, it shows who they are and how they choose to express themselves, but then again, I like the unique and meaningful tattoo's only. However, ever girl has her own opinion on the matter, and you'll find some who hate them, some who don't mind them and others who love them. But like you stated above, that's good thinking, don't let others opinion's affect your decision's, it's your body, do what you wish.

So I've been watching the trailer for it and I'm really interested in it now. But it's looks really confusing reminds me of the movie Inception. I plan on going to see it when it comes out (December 21, 2011). But I want to know who is this girl with the tattoo, does she have some type of power or something? What does she do?

December 2002. Mikael Blomkvist, publisher of the Swedish political magazine Millennium, loses a libel case involving allegations about billionaire industrialist Hans-Erik Wennerström. He is sentenced to three months in prison, and ordered to pay hefty damages and costs. Soon afterwards, he is invited to meet Henrik Vanger, the retired CEO of the Vanger Corporation, unaware that he had commissioned an investigation into Blomkvist's personal and professional history. Vanger believes that his greatneice, Harriet, was murdered by a member of the family 36 years earlier. As a post script, Salander continues to monitor Wennerstrom and after six months, anonimously informs a lawyer in Miami of his whereabouts. He is found in Marbella, dead, shot three times in the head.

I know it is a sin to get a tattoo but what if the person already has them? I think they should cover them up until they get them removed but I haven't said anything to her yet because she is new. I don't think she knows any better.

What tattoo removals actually work?

I have 2 small tattoos, a roman numeral 2 on my middle finger and a small bow on the inside of my left ankle. Neither one of them have color. I don't want neither of them any more. I am black, but I'm not dark. I'm a light brown. On youtube, a girl that was my complexion said that laser tattoo removal didn't work well for her because of her skin color & that it was expensive. White people say its pretty accurate though. I've been looking at Fadeplex, Wrecking Balm, & Nuviderm. I'm not seeing a lot of reviews. I've seen about 2 for each.. 1 saying they didn't see much of a change or they broke out or it scabbed really bad & 1 saying it's worked well.

If any of you have tried ANY kind of tattoo removal can you please respond to this? I need ideas. Fadeplex, Wrecking Balm, Nuviderm, Laser, whaaatever.

Lasers have made it easier to lighten tattoos, but it's not as easy or as reliable as many people think. Lightening a tattoo generally takes several treatments and can be expensive. How well it works depends on the tattoo. Many tattoos can be lightened until they are much less noticeable, but usually a trace of the tattoo remains.
Also, some tattoo colors are harder to remove than others. Laser treatments can turn some tattoos darker instead of lighter, or change them to a different color. The same goes for "permanent makeup," which is a kind of tattoo. It depends on what ingredients went into the tattoo ink to produce the color.
But it can be hard to find out what's in tattoo inks because they usually don't have ingredients listed on the label. Very often, even the tattooist doesn't know what's in the tattoo ink because the company that made it considers the formula "proprietary" (pro-pry-uh-tar-ee). That means it's a trade secret.

I want to get a mural tattooed on my back that will represent the change from childhood to motherhood. I know that i want it to be gray scaled and that I don't want the usual faeries, butterfly's, frogs or flowers but im not very creative and the artist needs a general idea that i want to display any ideas?

Take images from your childhood, a picture of you on a swing or slide, in diapers, being held, sleeping, different ages, toys and books, and the things that you were interested in at different stages, objects to represent time periods and ages, silhouettes, etc. Look in scrapebooks, and bring any and all pictures, and written ideas to your artist and see what him/her comes up with.

What's the best way to have a tattoo removed on a wrist?

I have a shitty tattoo that I got when I was around 15. I know so dumb I shouldn't have done it, I regret it so bad. Well, I wanted to know what method is the best? The length is a bit smaller than a pinky finger, its black and I wanted to know what's better, creams or laser and do they leave marks? Have you had it done also and does it fully remove it?
I heard Nuviderm is good. Is that true?

I have 3 small letters on my foot, just the lines, I am on my second treatment of Nuviderm. So far there is no change, and I am starting to believe it does not work. The first treatment I used a diluted application, because you control the strengh of it. The skin pealed off, and there was no change, but no scar either. The second time I did use a stronger solution, 40%, and this time I am afraid I might have a little scaring, but I have to wait for it to completely peel off to make sure. Nuviderm is a chemical peel. It burns your skin, and working thru burning and healing is supposed to bring the tattoo closer out so it will fade. Like I said, my tattoo is very thin and tiny, and I have not seen much change. I am happy that my skin healed good the first time. It will be a little painful right after you apply it. Like a sting, because it penetrates your skin and it burns it. The burning sensation might last even a few days, but after that you won't feel anything. I would be just like the skin healing from a deep scratch. Every tattoo is diferent, as well as everyone skin is diferent too. It might take a while and maybe a few applications, but I am hopeful it will work.
Another thing I used in another tattoo was appricot scrub, and after that applied Palmers Eventone Fade Cream, it is from the same maker of Cocoa Butter, it did fade my tattoo, but not fully erased it. Some lines are almost even gone. I really got tired of using it, that is why I did not continue using it. Because you would have to be doing this for at least a year. but if you are confident it might work for you.
Using the scrub and the cream, is the same as using tat-b-gone. Because I bought it a long time ago. The only diference is that you save thousands of dollars.
And honestly Nuvidern is the cheapest thing out there. It costed me 40 bucks, compared to wrecking balm or tat-b-gone which are around $250. I would say try it, because you don't have much to lose.

story: i have a music tattoo and i came up with the design myself. i had the idea since i was 16 but never really put it down on paper and then around the time i was 18 i started designing it in photoshop and it took me 3 days to get it exactly how i wanted it. at first i wanted the phrase around it to be in italian (language that music is written in i.e. forte pianissimo) but when i checked different online translators and asked my sister in law (who knows italian but it's not her first language, greek is) i got different answers. so my first 2 days of designing had gone down the drain. so on the 3rd day i got it done, knew i liked it and took it to the shop to see how much it would be. they told me because of the lettering that it would have to be a bit bigger than what i wanted it but i still love it.

Reactions: everyone that saw it, loved it, except for my parents. they're not too big on tattoos and when i first showed them it was right after i got it done. so it didn't look very pretty at the time because it was swollen and red. after a while my step mom said that it was starting to grown on her and looked better now that it was healed up.

Location: i chose my shoulder because 1) i liked how it looked 2) it's easy to hide and show off

Location pt2: there aren't really any spots that i would consider unsuitable. mostly on girls i don't like tattoos on the calf or front of the thigh or really the bakc of the thigh unless it's continuous from a back tattoo. guys should just try and get it anyplace where they don't have a lot of hair lol.

What are your opinions on guys with stretched lobes?

I've been thinking about starting to stretch my ear lobes out and get a few piercings and tattoos. My Mom and Grandmother are completely against it and would be furious. So I want some opinions from different people (who are unbiased towards me) on what your feelings are on guys who have piercings/gauges etc.

I'm a girl, and I am all for body art - provided it's thought out, well planned, and professionally done. There is nothing worse than being uncomfortable in your own skin, and if you have dodgy tattoos and wonky piercings, you won't feel so great.

The generations before us fought for freedom of expression, now they criticise our generation for doing that. Ultimately, it is your skin, and if you feel like decorating it with piercings and tattoos, that is YOUR decision and they need to live with it.

My father and my grandparents HATE all my tattoos and piercings. But there's not a lot they can do about it. I work in an industry that accepts body modification (Photojournalist, specialising in live music photography), and each of my 24 tattoos has a very deep meaning behind it. I've also stretched my ears to 10mm (0 gauge), and I love it.

Personally, I don't like the look of streched ears much more than 12mm, and from a healing point of view, if you go larger than 10mm, or stretch too fast, when you decide to take your tunnels/plugs out and let your lobes heal, they won't really heal that well. So please keep that in mind.

I say go for it if you want to - just make sure tattoos MEAN SOMETHING TO YOU, not just some brutal design for the sake of being 'cool', and any work you get done is profession and you look after it as your tattooist/piercer recommends.

Unique ideas to do to my appearance, self-image, or outfit?

I'm trying to come up with some ideas to improve my self-image. I'm not exactly sure how to explain the types of ideas I'm looking for, so ill just give you some examples. The best idea i have came up with so far is wearing a small chain with a cross pendant on it. There are already quite a few kids at my high school already using this idea, so I'm looking for something different. I'm not interested in getting any tattoos or anything. Body hair removal is very old and was routinely done by rich ancient Egyptians 3,000-4,000 BC to discern them from the poor hairy barbarians. It's personal choice. If you ask 10 people you will get 10 different answers. But you are right in your assumption about the girlie magazines.

Pubic hair was always perceived as normal. It was considered as manly (eg Sean Connery as James Bond) to have body hair. Then all of a sudden all body hair was considered as ugly and unwanted! It is causing a lot of anguish to naturally hairy people.

In my humble opinion this change of heart can be attributed to the proliferation of pornography on the internet and magazines. Male and female porno actors' pubic hair are removed to get the best "view shots". The general public started copying it. Men and women all started removing ALL their body hair, because that is what is shown as the ideal image.

Until that time, ingrown hair was a nuisance only occasionally experienced by men on their faces. But since the whole body hair removal craze started, most people are having problems with ingrown hair, folliculitis, vaginal infections etc, etc. on all areas of their bodies previously without ingrown hair.

Hygiene has nothing to do with it. Actually one of the main functions of hair is to absorb sweat. Hair also act as natural protection against the chafing of clothes and normal bumps. Another function is to keep the body warm at its most vulnerable area, which is the area of procreation.

It is a fashion trend that might soon change back again to being fashionable to actually have body hair. Fashion trends change every few years. Quite possibly all the people who are now performing radical permanent pubic hair removal might soon be very sorry.

I mean, can you imagine how stupid the current generation will look when they are old. They will be totally hairless and covered with piercing holes and faded tattoos! But I say "each to his own". Life is about choices, but then you also have to live with the consequences of your choices.

I like the symbolism of koi fish, the overcoming odds and strength but, i want some other ideas than just the fish because i already have one. Any ideas how to capture the same idea?

Is there something that symbolizes something alone the lines of staying strong, persevering and getting back up when you fall? Or something that represents overcoming some hardships? I've been doing some research for a tattoo that I may like to get and came across the koi fish but I'm not really feeling it for a tattoo. I was also looking at some lotus flower tattoos. Another thing I came across was the phoenix-rise from the ashes.

If anyone else can give some inspiration it would be greatly appreciated.

If your looking for something from nature then your headed in the right direction. African cats (lions etc) are a great survival symbol. Or if you like the lotus flower maybe you could have it set in a desert background representing beauty and survival in a harsh climate? The lotus flower is definitely a favorite for women! lol Pretty flower. :) My sister in law mentioned something about roses having many different meanings according to their color and maturity the other day when I was giving her a rose tatt. :) You might do a little research on that? Good luck. If i have any epiphanies I will let you know. :) I like celtic symbolism but it sounds like thats not what your looking for.

I want to pursue a career as an Ob/Gyn.
I already have a tattoo along the entire length of my spine, but shirts easily cover it up, or usually about two centimeters still show if anything.
I also want to get a small one on my collar bone, and eventually a sleeve.

Just wanted to know how it would affect my chances or if I could cover them up.

Just make sure you can cover them up with a normal T shirt and pants...not a turtle neck. So as long as you keep the tattoos under a normal t shirt and long pants you shouldn't have a problem. There is no policy against it in the work place (I have seen an operating room technician with tattoos all over her neck, arms, etc) BUT in school they forbid piercings and tattoos to be shown. I have gone to school for dental hygiene and nursing and in both professions you can't have fake nails, nail polish on, no visible tattoos (but you couldn't wear a turtle neck) so you had to cover them daily with makeup (so best to have tattoos under a typical scrub uniform which is a T shirt size coverage and long scrub pants), and no piercings. The professors also get upset if anyone dyes their hair crazy colors. There was one girl in my program who dyed her hair blond AND dark brown at the same time so she looked like a skunk. She was on the bad side of the professors. You don't want to be judged for how you look so keep the tattoos hidden under clothes so you won't have an issue in college.

It means you got a small star tattooed on your wrist :) there's nothing bad about it and if he thinks there is, he's probably the only one. I doubt his parents will even notice your tat.

On the off-chance that they do, you could tell them it means you liked the song Twinkle Twinkle Little Star as a child ;)

It depends on the girl, the tattoo, your on preferences, and how it's worn. It really depends on the individual. I personally have a problem with poorly-done tattoos, and tattoos that everyone has-- like nautical stars, hearts, and cherries. Mine is being created by me, so it's unique :) Go for it-- just make sure you're gonna love that ink for a long time!

Well, it depends on who you ask. I'm a tattoo artist, and we refer to them in the business as lower back tattoos. The only time you may hear it, (at least around my shop) is when some girl, (looking like she's been missing out on soap and water for a week) comes in to price one, and when she finds out what tattoos cost, heads out the door. Now, that phrase is derogatory toward women in general, and was likely coined by some narrow-minded geek, who wasn't getting any. So, he came up with the term, out of nothing more than lust, jealousy of her boyfriend, and good old fashioned self-righteous indignation. Too bad popular opinion, among the ill educated, swings the other way. Also, good lower back tattoos are conformed to the lines of the body, particularly across the top of the hips. they can cut it low, so it can be hidden with regular jeans, but still show it off in the bedroom, or on the beach. To me, that in itself shows a dignified attitude about placement. NOT to be confused with a 'bulls-eye' as that is put on for different motives, and a whole different subject. The fairy is a fairy tattoo, that also happens to be a lower back tattoo. Calling it a 'tramp stamp' is ridiculous. That's my two cents.

What do i find attractive in women? At this age, the more accurate word is "girl". I do find girls more attractive than women. I, being 16, am greatly enthralled by the cuteness, the lithe and curvaceous aspects of a girl. The body is obvious, but their is also a certain mystique, an infinitely interesting aspect surrounding the way your minds work, why you do the things you do. Personality. And I'm not sure what is so attractive about a girl's private parts, or the body in general. It must be because you are different than us guys. The truth is, females are the most attractive creatures in the universe for us. It is hard enough to resist temptation without you girls flaunting your bodies, but another thing entirely when you show cleavage or something. That gets our minds working. I realize many girls love the idea that they can turn a guy on like that. But it really makes it hard sometimes. Girls have been known as cruel angels, with minds that work in strange ways. If I see a girl in a bikini, it sits in my head and simmers. It piques my curiosity and starts my imagination. That just the body, but a real relationship is unquestionably better. It may seem cheesy, but I want real love. Anyway, being feminine and full of passion is what is attractive in a girl. I prefer clothing that is pretty modest, but displays a girl's form. Highlights the femininity. Yeah, an hourglass shape with fair-sized breasts is good, but is certainly not a deciding factor. I am a bit feral, so strong hormones are also a plus. I dislike earrings, piercings, or tattoos. If I like a girl, I get protective of her, and find myself wishing to comfort her in her sorrows. I am a fan holding, with lots of hugs and kisses. Kim Kardashian seems to be obsessed with herself and something about her just always screams "Approve of me!". She seems to lack true depth and edge. There's something about Megan Fox that is intriguing. Like her tattoos for example, and the way she presents herself in her interviews. I just get the vibe that she would be really interesting to get to know and there's this rawness about her. Kim Kardashian on the other hand, I've never heard her say anything powerful. I've never seen her display anything interesting or intriguing. There's nothing rare or unique about her. She has no talent. All she's good at is taking pretty pictures. Really, any female could take pretty pictures with top make-up and hair stylists and a ton of money to get plastic surgery. Had Kim K been born into a middle class family, she wouldn't even have as much fame and money as she has. Other than that, Taurus' seem to be way more genuine and reliable than Libras are. I like how Megan Fox isn't always all smiley like Kim K. It says to me that Megan Fox doesn't give a f*ck if people think she looks mean. Kim K probably smiles all the time because she's probably the type of person who wants to stay on everyone's good side. She seems like it. Is a Cross tattoo on your hip inappropriate?

Q. Ok so I know hip tattoos are supposed to be a more sensual location that an arm tattoo for instance. I'm Catholic and very religious and I was thinking about getting a small cross and some words in latin on my hip. I just want people's opinion on whether the hip is a too inappropriate or disrespectful a location for a cross?

I have a cross on my chest just over my heart. I'm a Christian and admittedly i did put alot of thought into it first. I think as long as you are getting it for good reason then you would never regret it.
I got mine because i had some bad experiences with my church but then i met my husband who brought me to a different church, helped me find faith again....then cheated and lied and hurt me, so i wanted a reminder that my faith was my own and not a bad thing...hence why i put it over my heart.

The only thing i would say is be very careful of the style of the cross you get. Women's cross tattoo designs tend to be very fine lines which on places that stretch isn't a great idea :)

Have you thought abut trying to design your own cross? Just start with a shape you like and work around it to create something that is really truly personal to you and your faith.

Where to put temp tattoo for special occasion?

I would go for somewhere hidden from public view, like low on your hip, or maybe on your chest underneath your bra. As for tattoo ideas, you could go with the traditional rose or butterfly. Or you could do a pin-up girl, but I'd put that on your thigh or ribs for maximum inpact.

Since it's temp, and it sounds like you don't have any real ones, anything will be a shock when he comes across it.

One is a cross with flowers around it on her rib cage, its about the size of a quarter piece of notebook paper (so like 4in X 5in) and another that says made in canada on the bottom of her foot.

It just depends on the woman and the tattoos. I LOVE tattoos, but certain designs can look tacky, especially in the wrong place. The ones you describe sound cute, so I think they would be ok. What matters is if SHE is comfortable with the tattoos, it's her body.

If you decide to tattoo your ribs, consider this; look at your pic, then draw 2 lines straight down from the outer part of your chest muscles to your waistline & fill it in. What will the tattoo look like at this point? An upper back tattoo typically has a longer "shelf-life" so you might want to consider that option instead~and bonus it hurts less!! ;)

Tribal is okay if your of tribal heritage. If not, you might want to choose something more meaningful to you or your own. `Remember a tattoo is with you Forever....but know I'm talking & still love the large one I have on my abs so...?? Guess just choose for yourself but realize age brings changes to a man...guess I'm glad I'm a woman!! LoL ;)~

Why do American teens seem more childish and overall dumber than Europeans?

Just visited a few countries (Russia Spain and Greece) and i noticed teens and those in their 20s are much more educated and sophisticated compared to their US counterparts. They seem to act like they are 30 but surprisingly are only 21. They dress elegant without gang tattoos or rocker look or skater look. Especially the women, they are very family oriented.

We coddle our kids... "Generation Zero" has raised kids with no boundaries and taught them that it doesn't matter if you succeed or fail, all that matters is that you showed up...

We require instant gratification of our wants and desires and expect them to be handed to us just for showing up.

People on welfare can afford LED/LCD 42 inch flat screen TV's and App-Phones then STILL b*tch that they "Deserve" more.

Our children have no boundaries, received no discipline, and grew up hearing that "The US is #1!" so they learn only the minimum needed to get through life, follow their silly little causes to fill the void left in their lives by having TOO MUCH prosperity and let the world turn to sh*t around them.

Education is pushed off with the mantra of "Bill Gates didn't go to college" and seeing the internet millionaires of the late 90's, early 2000's... We watch interviews with the 25 year old billionaire developers of facebook, youtube, etc. and think "If they can do it..." and expect to be thrown fists full of money for surfing the web and being creative.

We have reached the point where we either succeed or fail... we are the New-Rome.

Will we let our decadence and over-blown sense of superiority bring us down like they did? I hope not.
