She's like

With tattoos that can't be covered up like all over the arms and legs? Like those girls from LA Ink and stuff. They are going to look horrible at 80 years of age.

Answer
So you shouldn't enjoy the tattoo for 60 years just because it will look bad at 80? Hell not everyone makes it to 80.

what tattoo could i get that relates to the 50 shades of grey series?

christiana

i'm a girl. i'm obsessed with the series. i wanna get a tattoo in honor lol
something that i know is about 50 shades of grey but maybe something that no one else would be able to figure out?

Answer
For the love of god, donât do it. When you get more mature, you will definitely want it removed, and that costs a ton and hurts a lot. Or are you willing to be a 60 year old woman with a trashy novel forever engraved on your ***? (Donât report that. I didnât curse, I just typed asterisks.)

NO!

So I recently started dating this Jewish girl and I have a problem. I have a swastika tattoo on my lower stomach and I have a feeling she might be pissed when she sees it. Its my favorite tattoo, but I need to remove it. A few people said to use an electric sander. Will that work? I can't afford to go out and get it proffesionally removed. What do I do?

Answer
Explain to her that it's a Buddhist thing.
Better yet, let me do it:

The word Swastika comes from India, not Germany.
The reason America uses it, is because before the war it was in widespread use.

The word swastika is derived from the Sanskrit svastika (in Devanagari, सà¥à¤µà¤¸à¥à¤¤à¤¿à¤), meaning any lucky or auspicious object, and in particular a mark
made on persons and things to denote good luck. It is composed of su- (cognate with Greek εÏ-, "eu-"), meaning "good, well" and asti a verbal abstract to the root as "to be"; svasti thus means "well-being". The suffix -ka forms a diminutive, and svastika might thus be translated literally as "little thing associated with well-being".

The swastika symbol is one of the oldest symbols on the Earth and can be found in all religions and traditions, on all continents!

Used in Asian Countries to denote where Buddhist Temples are located:

How long and how much would a tattoo like this cost?

Q. http://slog.thestranger.com/files/2008/07/tramp_stamp_biblical_love1.jpg

The tattoo i plan to get is 50 words, so not quite as long as the paragraph shown tattooed on the girl in the photo supplied.

Im from the uk - so british currency purlease!

Laleh

How there!
I am just trying to get ideas for a tattoo book... could you offer me any creative suggestions, writing props, or just stories you think you'd wanna read? Thanks!

Answer
That the oldest known tattoo was made by running a string through the skin.

A former co-worker won a kyak race. The winner of the race gets a traditional (both style and application) tattoo. I don't know the name of the race. But I believe it's held in Hawaii.

There is a tribe that tattoos the face of the women. When a girl is old enough she is tattooed by her grandmother. The reason was they figured outsiders (I don't remember if it was warring tribes or explorers.) would not want their women since they were disfigured. Now girls look foreward to when they go through this rite of passage. I read this in a magazine. It might have been National Geographic, but I don't think so.

Need to write an article for college magazine - Any ideas about what should I write on?

Give me some idea to write about. I can write about science (I'm a science student), history, entertainment, human psychology, women issues, etc. etc. Anything!

What does the Hummingbird mean and symbolize?

tattoos for women and their meanings image

<3

I am planning to get a hummingbird tattoo.. but i want to know the true meaning and what it really symbolizes. It was hard for me to find meanings, so maybe you'll have better luck. Thanks!

Answer
There are many folklore myths about the Hummingbird most are Native American. Here are just a few:

Mayan legend says the hummingbird is actually the sun in disguise, and he is trying to court a beautiful woman, who is the moon.

Another Mayan legend says the first two hummingbirds were created from the small feather scraps left over from the construction of other birds. The god who made the hummers was so pleased he had an elaborate wedding ceremony for them. First butterflies marked out a room, then flower petals fell on the ground to make a carpet; spiders spun webs to make a bridal pathway, then the sun sent down rays which caused the tiny groom to glow with dazzling reds and greens. The wedding guests noticed that whenever he turned away from the sun, he became drab again like the original gray feathers from which he was made.

A third Mayan legend speaks of a hummingbird piercing the the tongue of ancient kings. When the blood was poured on sacred scrolls and burned, divine ancestors appeared in the smoke.

An Apache legend tells of Wind Dancer, a young warrior, who was born deaf, but could sing magical, wordless songs that brought healing and good weather. He married Bright Rain, a beautiful, young woman whom he rescued when she was being attacked by a wolf.
Wind Dancer was killed during another errand of mercy. A bitter winter ensued, but it suddenly and mysteriously ended after Bright Rain started taking solitary walks.

Tribal elders learned Wind Dancer had come back to her in the form of a hummingbird. He wore the same ceremonial costume and war paint he had worn as a man. In fields of spring flowers he would approach her and whisper his magical secrets in her ear. This brought her peace and joy.

The link is very informative and has many more legends. Hope this helps!

What is the advantage and disadvantage of having your eyebrows tattooed?

If you are a pretty girl would you consider it?

Answer
I donât have tattooed eyebrows, but three small hoop rings on one side. I like them and it doesnât look too bad. I didnât find out until after I had done my own peircings that there is a nerve up there that if hit, can paralyze the whole side of your face, hmmmm. Guess I got lucky there.
We worked at a mill in an isolated location in British Columbia and there was a young couple that got on there for a while too. They had spent time in Africa and she had tribal tattoos on her face. She was and is a very pretty young woman, but I thought then and still do that they looked rather cool.
These days a lot of people are getting tattoos of Japanese symbols, that depending on who sees them may result in some not so good misunderstandings. Be aware of what you are getting and know some of the culture behind it before you get the tattoo. Itâs easy enough to get a cover up, but on the face, I donât think so. I am considering one on the face, but I have considered the same tattoo a few years now, so it is a big decision for me. I already have six tattoos, but none on my face (yet). Here is a site that might be of some help in making your decision as regards to facial tattooing.
TattooMeNow.com<support@tattoomenow.com>
So, in light of the above;
It does not ruin a beautiful face when done right Be prepared to live with it the rest of your life It definitely does add character to a personâs face, but not all peopleâs faces. Be careful of what symbols etc. that you do get as sometimes they can have different meanings; depending on who sees them.

What band would you let inspire your first tattoo?

Poppin' Fl

And what symbol/lyric would you get? :D
I would let Coheed and Cambria inspire mine. I would get the keywork with the lyrics "absence makes the heart grow fonder" or "is it the dreams that make us real."

Answer
I was never originally a Flaming Lips fan...but I saw them at Summerfest last week with my friends, and the experience was absolutely crazy. As the band begin to finish their final song, "Do You Realize," I was entranced by the set up they had on the stage. The band had all these crazy things up on stage, and giant balloons filled with confetti, and girls in strange costumes dancing on stage, and a giant circular backdrop that kept flashing different eyes....it was a lot to take in!

As the singer began to sing "Do you realize we're floating in space...do you realize that happiness makes you cry....do you realize that everyone you know someday will die...and instead of saying all of your goodbyes, let them know uou realize that life goes fast...It's hard to make the good things last...
You realize the sun don'-go down...It's just an illusion caused by the world spinning round"

And I imagined the world spinning and I was just so so so so happy! At that moment! It was just pure happiness...and right at that moment, I fainted! It was crazy. And beautiful.

That song would so inspire me.
I'll post it for anyone reading :)

Answer
Oh i've seen so many funny, dumb and unnecessary tattoos!

i think the funniest one was when i saw an eldery woman (80-85) , with a tattoo that said 'forever young' with hearts around it, on her arm. it was pretty ironic.

and online i saw a lady who got a website name tattoo on her forehead. she got paid $10,000! and she did it so she could get her kids through school.. haha!

what are some really good books that a teenage girl would enjoy?

tattoos for girls with eating disorders on Clipart Sick Drunk Bulimic Or Pregnant Woman Throwing Up In A Toilet ...
tattoos for girls with eating disorders image
Q. Im trying to find something to read, that i actually like... Pls help. Thanks

Answer
If you're a young teen, like 6-9th grade I advise a book by Tamora Pierce called 'First Test'. The story is about Kelandry of Mindelan who is a young noble woman (11 years old) who wants to become a knight and follow in the footsteps of Sir Alanna, who was the first lady knight and got her shield 10 years ago. Kel is grudgingly allowed to train, but is on probation for her first year. The story follows her as she struggles to train her body to be as strong as the boys, and to survive the torment of her more conservative fellow pages who want her to leave and use crude, cruel methods to try and force her out. She's a strong girl who has a tight reign on her emotions and is very determined. Personally, I loved all of the Tamora Pierce books, but you should google it and read a summary for yourself.

Of course, if you haven't read Harry Potter, I highly advise that. Twilight also seems very popular, hough I admit I haven't read it myself. Lord of the Rings is also well loved. "Bat Code Tattoo" by Suzanne Weyn is a futuristic Fantasy that involves government corruption, and mass loss of identity. The main character is trying to escape that and it leads to a very interesting adventure.

The Redwall series were ones I enjoyed in elementary, but if you're in middle-school I'd still advise them. They're about personified animals who live in settlements that are very medieval. Anything by Avi is also good.

If you want a more realistic, slightly darker story, "Lush" by Natasha Friend is about a girl with an alcoholic father and "Perfect" (also by Natasha Friend) is about a girl suffering from an eating disorder. "Speak" by Laurie Halse Anderson is very emotional and about a girl with a problem that's only revealed halfway through the book. She struggles with herself and intense emotions throughout the novel. Having lost her friends after calling the cops to bust a end-of-summer party, she lives through school totally on her own. As she struggles with what happened that night, she doesn't speak, thus where the book got it's name. "Fat Chance" by Leslea Newman is about a girl suffering from bulimia and "Alt Ed" involves a bullied, overweight girl who's put into an alternative education class with a few other students as an alternative to being expelled. Very fascinating.

With a different type of struggle, "My Sister's Keeper" by Jodi Picoulty is told by multiple character, a different one narrating each chapter and gives a uniquely personal and in-depth view on how cancer affects a family. It was really moving to me and I highly recommend it, but it was very sad.

Back to fantasy, "Sabriel" by Garth Nix, is the first of a triplet and is very fascinating in it's complex magic that involves the dead and bells. Although the details are slightly fuzzy now, I know my friends and I fell in love with the books in Middle School, and even if you're older, it might be fun to check it out. They were very well written.

"DragonSong" by Anne McCaffrey is the first of a series and I loved the idea. Set in another world, a simple girl with a big personality and love of music finds herself up against her strict, conservative and slightly cruel father who bans her from singing or playing instruments. Running from home, she makes herself a home in a cave where she befriends 9 fire lizards and teaches them to sing. Though it sounds strange, you may enjoy it.

"Uglies", but Scott Westerfield were a fun read. It's futuristic and quite popular. I think there are four in the series now, however I only read the first two.

If you're older, like in high school, I advise "Huckleberry Fin", which was a class requirement but also a really great read. Also "Catcher in the Rye" and "Siddartha" Those should all be easy to find because they're classics.

"Fahrenheit 451" is also a classic and deals with burning books, government corruption, and uncaring, materialistic, sheep-like humans. "1984" is similar, but a totally different style. I loved both.

"Animal Farm" is basically a huge comment about governments written in a fun way involving personified humans. "Of Mice in Men" is short and an easy read, but it's very emotional. It involves a mentally challenged character and his companion. Very small character cast and only about 100 pages long, but very meaningful. It's also a classic.

For fantasy, I liked "Blood Bound" by Patricia Briggs, who's an adult author and provides a more mature look on a fun subject of werewolf's, humans, fae, and vampires. The main character is a strong headed girl named Mercy Thompson who is a mechanic. She's actually not one of the creatures previously mentioned. She's a shape-shifter, and can turn into a coyote. The first book deals with vampire troubles, Iron kissed deals with Fae and Moon Called deals with werewolves. I found all very fascinating and captivating.

I hope this list helps you out!

What's your life like right now with social anxiety/agoraphobia?

Gone

Are you in school? Able to work? How old are you and how long have you been afflicted?

Well, I have been living with social anxiety disorder and depression since I was fourteen, and I became a housebound agoraphobic around sixteen. All of this prevented me from graduating high school. I did not want to attend a public school because of my anxiety and the online school I went through was basically just taking my mother's money and I wasn't learning anything and when it came down to returning to public school a year behind or just dropping out, I chose the latter. I have put off obtaining my GED for a year now because I need a state ID (Never got my permit or driver's license) in order to take the test and that requires me to take a picture which I am deathly afraid of.

Also, I have what some they call 'comfort zones'. If I am to be outside of the house, I can only go to certain places which for me are the local library, grocery store/walgreens a block away, and perhaps the nearest mcdonald's if I am accompanied by my mother or brother and I have to stay in the car while they go inside or we go through the drivethru. So going to the DMV for my state ID poses a serious problem because it's far away in the next city and I get very anxious/stressed after being in the car for too long.

Death is what comprises the bulk of my thoughts throughout the day and I often contemplate taking my life. However, my anxiety prevents me from doing this in so many ways. First of all, I had a religious upbringing and even though I am not religious anymore, those beliefs my mother instilled in me from such a young age haunt me whenever I find myself looking at a bottle of pills or knife. I worry that I will receive a horrible punishment for taking my life, and that the consequence will exceed the pain I am in now. Then there's the emotional and financial burden I would be imposing on my family. After a tough past three years, my mother's just now getting back on her feet and I already feel EXTREMELY guilty for being 18 without a diploma or job living in her house and not being able to support myself. That is enough for me to want to slit my throat. I wish I wasn't such a burden on her. Sometimes I will go a day or two without eating because I feel like I'm just sitting at home eating up the food (even though I am petite and don't eat nearly as much as my other siblings) and being a bum even though all I want is to change my life and get better. Whenever she asks me if I want something from the mall or store, I say no. There have been times when I have gone without necessities because I could not bear the thought of her spending money on me.

I have yet to see a professional because A) that requires leaving the house for an extended period of time and B) in order to actually be referred to a psychiatrist, I would have to see my family's physician first and I do not like her. The first time I saw her was for my 16 yr old physical and she asked me questions about my social life and my answers were pathetic and when she asked if I had any friends, I sort of mumbled that they were out of state (we had to just moved) and she made this face that made me want to burst into tears and scratch my face. It was basically a YOU'RE PATHETIC face and it hurt me. I mean she's supposed to be a doctor. Anyways, it doesn't help that a year later I had to expose my breasts to this woman for a breast exam after finding what would later be classified as a benign lump in my chest. So yes, this is a huge obstacle in me getting help.

In the past, during the first two years of my affliction, I would easily make myself feel better by thinking about the future (back when graduating and going to university were still attainable realities) and fantasizing about when I got my life together. But now, I fear I am too far gone. Even if I should remedy my life enough so that I may go to school, secure employment, and be able to leave the house to get the newspaper without checking out the blinds fifty times, the damage has been done. I have never been in a relationship, and I don't think I will ever be secure enough with myself to be in one. I have lost so many relationships, including the ones with my father and half sister. My half sister told me a few months ago, during a brief texting phase (my anxiety extends to the telephone, I can't even order pizza) after having not spoken to her in nearly two years, that she hated me and after that I never replied and just sat in my closet and rocked myself into oblivion.

If you had asked me 5 yrs ago, I would have wanted marriage, children, and to travel the world. These days, I do not believe in marriage, I will not be bringing anything into this world, and traveling for me is when my neighbors aren't home and I am able to go in my backyard and feel the wind.
@Becca, We must be the same person. I have been sitting here for five minutes trying to formulate some sort of response, but I am seriously taken back. I have never had someone describe their life so closely to mine. It's comforting to know I am not alone but it also sucks to know someone else is hurting.
@Kayla, I hear so much of my 16 yr old self in your words. I too pushed away all of my friends after I moved out of state. I wasn't in school or doing anything with myself because of my anxiety so eventually there became less and less to talk about. And I felt as if I were boring them so I stopped calling and writing emails. I deleted my facebook and they stopped reaching out to me. I will never forget how pathetic I felt at 16 when I told an old friend of mine I studying for my permit and she said she got hers a long time ago. I wanted to die. I never did get it or learn to drive. I hope things shape up for you. If
You two can email me whenever if you want. If you arent too anxious. I get like that when I write emails.

Answer
I'm not in school. I dropped out in 11th grade (last year)... I haven't seen anyone my age in over a year. I can't even go get my ged. I have to be 18 to get my license. That will be in 2 months and I already know I probably won't be able to do it.
I can't work. I'm too scared to ask for an application. I think about doing an interview or talking to customers & I'm sent into panic mode. The only thing I think I can even manage is a hotel maid or something. I'm 17 & i've had social anxiety my entire life. It's just continuously gotten worse, way worse. My depression started when I was around 13.

I have those comfort places too. I can't step foot in a mall. I can't go into 'my' town. I have to go to ones in the surrounfing cities, like 1 hour away, just so I will be kind of safe to not see anyone I know. And I only go out during school hours, so that I don't have to see anyone my age. I also don't like to go into shops where I think I will be intimidated by the people. Like tattoo shops or places where I would think pretty girls would be working. I sit in the car too when my mom or sister goes in to the fast food place or grocery store.

I think about death all the time too. One time when I was 14 I tried to overdose, but I accidently fell asleep on my side, so the puke didn't choke me. I have it planned out to work now, but I don't know if I have the guts anymore. I think of death and I tense up, almost have a panic attack. Just there being nothingness... And I know this is dumb but I think of how there will be so few people at my funeral and I can't stand it. I feel like it would be easier to kill myself if I didn't have my mom, sister and my brother. Now, I have my nephew on the way. I have to see his little face and hold him before I go.. I anm extrememly close with my mom and sister and I honeslty believe they would not be able to function properly if I were to kill myself. And I need my sister to be okay for her baby. And my mom needs to be here for my little brother. Plus, I think of how I hurt, and I Would NEVER want to make them hurt like this.

I saw my doctor because I couldn't take the panic attacks anymore. Whenever I get a panic attack it feels like I'm going to die a really painful slow death by suffocation..:/ I ended up crying the whole time talking to him & barely saying anything. He gave me xanax and prozac and sent me to a therapist. That therapist made me feel like complete shit. It was 3 months into seeing her when she blamed me being like this on my mom and I was out of there. It is not my moms fault. The prozac made me go even closer to killing myself. Doctor switched me to celexa. I haven't noticed ANY differene. I took 1/2 a xanax like he said. I still felt awful. I took a whole one, still felt awful. I took 1 & 1/2 and felt okay... Worked myself up to now when I go out I have to take 3 xanax.
Your doctor sounds terrible! She needs some bedside manners. You sound like me, I get so hurt by little things too. My doctor was really really really nice to me when I cried in front of him. He had this hurt look on his face like he felt bad for me and I was slightly comforted by that but at the same time I felt more embarassed.

When I was 14 I had my first boyfriend. I had sex with him then turned into a raging whore and had sex with everyone because I couldn't talk to any of the boys because of fear & a blank mind, but I could easily spread my legss, because that means, "I'm wanted & I don't have to talk right now, in this moment" -__- I used to only sneak out though at like 3 and 4 am because I wanted it to be dark when we had sex because i dint want them to see me. but I cant even do that anymore.

I can't talk on the phone either... I can only talk with my mom and sister and brother on the phone... I can't even talk to my grandma in person without feeling uncomfortable. :( I have cut off alot of my emotions. I was in the room when my grandpa died. I saw him die. I didn't even cry. I got in the shower and tried so hard to cry and I couldn't. And I loved him so much. That night I woke up from a dream of him with tears down my face.

I don't believe in marriage anymore either. I believe that all guys do is cheat. I can't bring a kid into this world either. I would not be a stable mother at all.

I think me and you are the same person.

Answer
I love that people are saying, 'the correct term is...' Well actually, wouldn't that be 'lower back tattoo'?

But yes people do call it a 'tramp stamp', along with, 'arse antlers' and 'ho-tag'. Lovely eh?

It just so happens that the lower back tattoo became popular in the 90's and made tattooing more accessible for women who didn't want their arms or shoulders tattooed. As times and fashions change different body parts become more acceptable for women to tattoo. Feet and wrists and very popular at the moment.

I personally hate arm and shoulder tattoos on women but don't judge them for it as that is what was 'in' when the decided to have a tattoo. Tribal tattoos and Chinese writing were also very popular but now fit into the 'tramp stamp' era. Soon we will have a name for those who tattoo stars... oh no, we already do, emos. Ok, then foot and wrist tattoos will soon become the latest tramp stamp. In 50 years time, when every body part has been the most fashionable to tattoo each area will become a hot spot for a 'tramp stamp'.

Any followers of this stereotyping and small mindedness generally tend to be rather frigid, scared of having tattoos at all, have controlling parents that wonât let them get tattoos or are lucky enough to have only gotten into tattooing during the latest trend! Alas children, your time will come soon. You too will one day have a 'tramp stamp' whether it's on your back, ankle, chest, stomach or ear lobe! People are just rubbish like that!!!

Where in Korea can I find "gangsters"?

(^__^)

Like the ones in gangs not fake wannabe guys.
And are there male strip bars in Korea
lol

Answer
Iksan City is one of the major gangbanger cities. South Jeolla is popular with the bangers, some places in the Gyeonggi province also have them. Incheon, Ansan city, Siheung city, and Dongducheon City are the common places in Gyeonggi for the thugs.

They usually drive black cars with rims. Usually a Chairman, Equus, Dynasty, or new TG. They run all of the major ho districts. (ak, Miari, 588, Younjugul) "Room Salons" the places where CEO's and high level dudes go to get laid. Sometimes they own the franchises of "massage parlors." They also own quite a bit of the fish industry as well, including shipment to China.

To do all this, they bribe and pay off all the local copshops. It's been proven that they basically own the copshops in Iksan, Ansan, and Dongdaemun gu.

They own a large amount of the "booking" nightclubs in the outer provinces. They've been shut down in the Bundang and Southern Seoul areas however.

They usually wear dark clothes. The high dudes wear mostly black turtlenecks. They wear gold chains. All of the major bodyguards and serious dudes have buzzed hair cuts. All of them have a tattoo of the gang they represent. Gangs here are smiliar to the west. You have to be jumped in to be accepted, or have some family relation.

The "mafia" here is used to take care of hits and beatdowns. They are also hired by loansharks and some private people to get money from people that owe them.

The biggest area for male prostitution is Bangbae dong in Seocho gu. They are called "host bars." It's quite secretive, however women who know their ways around go there. Mostly older, married bored housewives with load of cash from their hubbies who probably work in another city or country. The host bars are hard to get into. You'll have to pay at least 200,000 to a million won to get in, and the costs can range from 2 mil to 10 mil.

All these things are the truth. Go for a walk late night around the places I've listed and you'll notice all these things occur. Most Koreans take little or no notice to it. They grow up around it all their lives. They never admit to foreigners that these things happen, because if everyone in the world knew these things occured the image of this country would be in the toilet.

p.s. The wannabes are those 15-18 yr old scooters bangers. Usually on national holidays they ride around in groups of 50-100. No helmets, some of them got some beat audio. Most of the scooters are stolen. They usually ride around city hall, down the wrong side of the streets, and mess with other drivers.

What is a good small tattoo design for a girl on the neck or behind the ear?

I want to get a tattoo on the back of my neck, under my hairline or behind the ear. Something small and simple. I'm going away for college and want something that symbolizes my mom my sister and I. I was thinking something like a sun/moon and a star or a crescent moon and two stars. Any ideas? or pictures of some nice designs? I'm looking to keep discreet nothing too big.

How painful is it to get a tattoo?

Kiana

i want a tattoo for my birthday coming up soon. is it really painful?? i was thinking of a star on my neck?? Any tattoo ideas? im a girl and im still in school so i don't really want a visible place. if i had it on my neck i could cover it up with my hair? im gonna be 17.
i have my mom's permission she will also come

Answer
I had the same mind set and now I regret my first tattoo. Put more thought into it beforehand, I wish I had. I now have many more, that all have meaning and I love them. But that very first one is one of the biggest regrets of my life. Plus, everyone gets a star. Do something more original. Like your zodiac sign or a tribute to someone close to you who passed, like a family member or friend. Or if you're a daddy's girl, get that written on you... SOMETHING other than a star - yuck!
Plus, neck tattoos can't be covered up if you get a job that requires you to have your hair up, like any branch of the military or if you work with food. I would reconsider the placement.
I've never had a neck tattoo and never will. The most painful places for me were my hipbone and upper ribcage/armpit area. My wrist didn't hurt at all (I have "mom" across my wrist in pretty letters) and my biceps didn't really hurt either. My backbone wasn't too bad. I usually take a nap during my tattoo time. But not my ribs & hipbones! I have to take a Vicodin beforehand for those! But most people aren't as good with pain as I am. I know LOTS of people with partial tattoos because they couldn't get theirs finished due to pain. It also depends on the artist. Some have a heavy hand, and don't use the right gauges of needles. Usually beginner tattooists are notorious for this. It makes you bleed a lot and it hurts more. More experienced artists don't make you bleed as much and don't cause as much pain, because they use the right needles. I have a regular artist I go to, because they are very experienced. I would never go to another for any reason. Check around your area before making you final decision!

How does one get into the plus-size modeling business?

tattoos for women to represent kids image

Erika

I would assume its similar to breaking into the general modeling business, but I've heard its also a bit different. How so? Any recommended connections in the greater Boston area?

Answer
You need to consider a few things before pursuing such a career. There are requirements for plus size models, and they include height and size restrictions. You need to be at least 5â8â (5â10â is preferable in the bigger markets like NYC, Miami, L.A., London, etc) and fall between sizes 8 and 16/18. Yes, plus sizes start at size 8 as far as agencies are concerned. You need to be well-proportioned, toned and in good shape, have great skin, hair and teeth, and be quite photogenic - let's not forget - we're talking about MODELING. It also helps if you have few, if any, tattoos. If you have these things going for you, I encourage you to attend an open call at an agency near you that represents plus size models. You can find one by calling agencies that are listed in your local yellow pages and asking if they rep plus size girls, and then asking when their plus size open calls occur. You will need to get in front of an agent who will determine your marketability in this industry and advise you accordingly. Walk in wearing light makeup, simple but well-fitting clothing, and lose the high heels - they will know how tall you are so don't try to fudge it. Bring some simple shots of yourself that show your face and your full body - they don't need to be professional shots. They will look at your photos and will see your potential without all the makeup. You may be measured on the spot, or asked to be photographed in your underwear, so get rid of your inhibitions NOW.

You need to be in or near a large market â smaller towns donât normally have modeling agencies, let alone plus size divisions. Your competition knows where to go, and they are going there, believe me. You can be stunningly beautiful, but if you canât make it to an open call or casting because you live too far away and cannot travel at the drop of a hat, you definitely have a strike against you. Your competition is thrilled to know that you don't have the money for a bus ticket or that your car is in the shop - means more opportunity for them!

If you are marketable, the agent will ask you to do several test shoots that you have to pay for, so please be ready to spend money and time developing your look. Agencies do not typically pick up these fees â the model must do so. (You will need to spend money to get your career off the ground - modeling is not a get-rich-quick career. If you have kids and/or school to finish, you need to plan how you're going to balance it all.) You may be asked to cut/trim/color your hair, get manicures and pedicures and to hit the gym before the shoot. You will be given a list of photographers that you can call to schedule a shoot, and you will pay them directly. A good agency will never ask for money directly â itâs a transaction between you and the photog. If you want to get the most out of your test shoots, you should hire a makeup artist, hair stylist and fashion stylist to work on the shoot with you.

When your shots come back, your potential agent will see if you have what it takes, and then she/he will submit your photos to clients and see what kind of response you get. They usually submit a comp card, which is a collection of photos that you need to pay for, to the clients to get their feedback. There are no guarantees, and you will only work if clients like/need your look.

Please note: there is no such segment of the market called "specialty plus." That is a title that certain websites and companies (some present on the internet) have created in order to get girls who want to be models (but who do not fit model stats) to pose for their websites. There's no harm in it, except that it misleads women who want to be models into thinking that they can eventually work with agents. It's just not realistic. It also helps the photographers who shoot such girls make money off of them, of course, but it's rather disingenuous for such people to make money off of girls who will most likely not work within the industry. It's a great ego boost but girls without model stats won't work in the legit modeling industry.

You can visit the plus size modeling thread at www.curvychick.com and get advice from working models, photographers, stylists, makeup artists and others within the industry. Take any support you get with a grain of salt - there are plenty of women who will say that you've "got it," but they usually just want to be nice and not have a hand in dashing your dreams. I personally don't want a hand in misleading anyone. AND if someone says you don't really have it, don't take it personally - you're not being judged as a person, not on your looks, but on your marketability - if you can't take the heat you should find another career.

Good luck!

How do you become a plus sized model?!?

TB

I work in advertising. I have lost 60 pounds and I am currently chubby but not fat. I am almost 5'6 and have been thinking that maybe I should try plus sized modeling. Everyone tells me how beautiful a face I have and how I am so photogenic. Any idea how to break into the industry? What agencies have plus size divisions etc?

Are all lower back tattoos on women tramp stamps?

Are all back tattoos on women tramp stamps or just the ones that go across the back that look like wings or tribal etc. My wife has a fairy on her back and her friend said that's a tramp stamp. I say it isn't. We have a bet on this one.

Answer
Well, it depends on who you ask. I'm a tattoo artist, and we refer to them in the business as lower back tattoos. The only time you may hear it, (at least around my shop) is when some girl, (looking like she's been missing out on soap and water for a week) comes in to price one, and when she finds out what tattoos cost, heads out the door. Now, that phrase is derogatory toward women in general, and was likely coined by some narrow-minded geek, who wasn't getting any. So, he came up with the term, out of nothing more than lust, jealousy of her boyfriend, and good old fashioned self-righteous indignation. Too bad popular opinion, among the ill educated, swings the other way. Also, good lower back tattoos are conformed to the lines of the body, particularly across the top of the hips. they can cut it low, so it can be hidden with regular jeans, but still show it off in the bedroom, or on the beach. To me, that in itself shows a dignified attitude about placement. NOT to be confused with a 'bulls-eye' as that is put on for different motives, and a whole different subject. The fairy is a fairy tattoo, that also happens to be a lower back tattoo. Calling it a 'tramp stamp' is ridiculous. That's my two cents.

What is the story behind your tattoo? What are the general reactions you get when you display it/them?

Elena

also, how did you choose the location of your tattoo? do you think there's a particular location or particular tattoos 'unsuitable' for girls/boys?

Answer
story: i have a music tattoo and i came up with the design myself. i had the idea since i was 16 but never really put it down on paper and then around the time i was 18 i started designing it in photoshop and it took me 3 days to get it exactly how i wanted it. at first i wanted the phrase around it to be in italian (language that music is written in i.e. forte pianissimo) but when i checked different online translators and asked my sister in law (who knows italian but it's not her first language, greek is) i got different answers. so my first 2 days of designing had gone down the drain. so on the 3rd day i got it done, knew i liked it and took it to the shop to see how much it would be. they told me because of the lettering that it would have to be a bit bigger than what i wanted it but i still love it.

Reactions: everyone that saw it, loved it, except for my parents. they're not too big on tattoos and when i first showed them it was right after i got it done. so it didn't look very pretty at the time because it was swollen and red. after a while my step mom said that it was starting to grown on her and looked better now that it was healed up.

Location: i chose my shoulder because 1) i liked how it looked 2) it's easy to hide and show off

Location pt2: there aren't really any spots that i would consider unsuitable. mostly on girls i don't like tattoos on the calf or front of the thigh or really the bakc of the thigh unless it's continuous from a back tattoo. guys should just try and get it anyplace where they don't have a lot of hair lol.

I am wondering where a sexy place to put it would be which is why I would like to see females with tattoos only to give myself a better idea of where I would like my next tattoo.

If it's a meaningful quote on the back of the shoulder? Nothing too scandalous, but, for example, when it comes to wearing a back-baring formal dress, will the tattoo will ruin it's classiness? Is a tattoo quote trashy or classy?

Answer
Quote tattoos are very personal and inspirational. I personally think that tattoos on girls are attractive (as a girl myself lol). Look at women like Angelina Jolie--she can pull off a 40`s inspired classy dress with a script tattoo on her back., It`s definitely possible, and many men love it!

How much would a dye job cost on average?

marshmallo

I have a pixie cut(see Vanessa Hudgens pixie cut for a better idea) and I finally convinced my mom to let me color my hair. It was pretty easy since my dad doesn't care what I do with my hair. So anyway, I want to dye it a brownish black(again see Vanessa) with subtle lighter brown highlights. On average how much would it cost at a salon? I want to pay for it myself so I need an idea of how much to save up. Thanks lovelies Godbless:)

Answer
My SIL pays $45 for hers.

Long to your shoulder to Pixie, don't matter, they use 1 box of hair dye anyway, or mix colors in.

Style meets chemistry meets biology: We're talking hair coloring.

Playing with chemicals is not like playing with clothes, or doing a manicure, there are penalties for playing chemicals in the lab. Even hair color experts at the salon are not rocket scientists, they do a bang up dye jobs to their clients or their own hair.

Chemicals can enter the body through the skin.

London, Feb 20, 2013 I've been saying that since 2009.
Hair dyes, which include home hair colouring kits and those used at pricey salons, are linked to deadly cancer-causing chemicals, warn scientists. In 2009 the Mail revealed that women who used hair dyes more than nine times a year had a 60% greater risk of contracting blood cancer.
A year later the European Commission banned 22 hair dyes which put long-term users at risk of bladder cancer. < < < <â¨

The chemical is not new and is present in a number of brands of dark hair colours, acting to help adhere the dye to the hair so that it doesn't wash out. Itâs made from coal tar and is used in both permanent and semi-permanent hair colours. Itâs well-known to be a cause of serious allergic reactions -- including something called contact dermatitis which can lead to rashes, blisters, and open sores.
PPD is sometimes added to black henna tattoos and that using them is not safe. Allergic reactions usually begin within two to 10 days following application. One bad reaction can lead to sensitivities to other products such as hair dye, sunblock and some types of clothing dyes. Oftentimes, it's using the product a second or third time.

Her family blamed paraphenylenediamine, a chemical found in hair colour. Her family has now called for paraphenylenediamine to be banned from home dye kits. How can you prevent fainting during a tattoo, when it is a physiological response?

tattoos for good girls image

laedeehk

I started my 2nd tattoo today. Not 10 min into it, I fainted. I have NEVER fainted in my life. I didn't faint during my first tattoo 10 years ago, but did get dizzy and felt ill. My tattoo girl was freaked out- and wanted me to go to the dr, which is scary because after looking on the internet, it is rather common. Dr said its a physiological response to pain that some people have- but how, then did I withstand the first? Any tattoo professionals have any real advice? I don't want answers like "don't look at the needle..." etc.. because it is not a fear nor the feeling of pain that causes it usually.
Also, she wanted to stop after that happened. If it happens again in the future, is it reasonable to keep going? She said if it happens again she won't finish it. Right now I have part of a dragon's tail on my back : (

Answer
I have 4, Ive never fainted. I just sweat alot when I'm getting tattooed, usually a cold sweat, not very enjoyable....Try numbing cream, I used that with my 3rd tattoo and all i felt was pressure, Also right before you get a tattoo try and feel "neutral" just relax and calm yourself, have a loved one with you. Good luck :)

If you seen a male with LOVE/HATE on knuckles, a union jack with BRITAIN under it on the front of his neck, swallows on both sides of his neck, and a spiders web on one side of his face, a spider on the other, and a little cross on the forehead, what would you think? Would he be accepted in modern-society?

What should I expect at MEPS?

coltzfan10

I'm scheduled to go this coming tuesday, but I'm a little worried about the medical testing. I have absolutely no problems listed in my medical history except that I wear contacts. That is the one thing I'm worried about. I'm not sure what my vision is (ex:20/30), but my contact's case says I wear -7.00 in one eye and -7.50 in the other. Should I be that worried if the disqualifier is at +/- 8.00? Also I'm joining the Air Force and am interested in the geospatial intelligence field if that helps. Thanks in advance.

Answer
Are you a guy or girl? I can give you my experience but I am a girl, so a few things might be different for when you go.
You report in at 5am* I got in a 5am but had to wait for the air force guys to get to work before we started because they were running late*
After they have arrived you go into their office and you are givin' a whole speech about what to do and not to do through out the day, you give them your cell phones and they give you your folders.
After that they are supposed to take you to a room that you can place your bags in but one of the guys was nice enough to let me store my purse in his overhead locker in his office. They will talk to you about how you are not to leave your folder or let someone else hold it, and that today will be a long day and to just do as your told.
After that you go into a line and some people at a desk check you in and put your medical papers in your folder and mark some stuff on it and ask your social security number * if you don't know your ssn by now you will by the end of the day, it will be burned in your head* , on top of your folder will be the stages of MEPS that you need to go to and get checked. Then you go into a room to put on a piece of paper if you have tattoos and stuff like that and then give you the Breathalyzer( don't chew gum)
Eyes: eyes will be your first stop, for air force they will test your eye sight as well as if you are color blind or not. They will do the normal eye test and then a depth perception test and then a test to see if you have a lazy eye and stuff like that. Bring your glasses or contacts if you wear them. I stupidly left mine in my car and lets just say I was in the room FOREVER.
Hearing: hearing will be your next stop, you will go into a room that basically has a sound proof box in the room that you go into and some chairs with curtains in front and back of you. You are givin' little triggers that you press when you hear a sound but of course you always get that one jackass out of the bunch that thinks it's okay to hack up a lung while you take the test and you cant hear some of it. I wanted to punch the light out of the guy who did that during my test.
After this you will be taken to another room that separates the boys and the girls for the rest of the day.
You go into a room and they take you into this area that looks like bathroom that's doors and that's where they take your blood and then you go into another room and exercises the "exercises room" you will be asked to strip down to underwear and a bra if you are a girl and then a cover up and then reciereceive pee cup and to pee in front of the person who gave it to you. if you cannot pee on demand then you are shit out of luck, you miss fire you have to wait till' you can and normally if you cant pee by a certain time then they will tell you to go home and you have to start the process all over again ExcisExercisesExcerExercises will do a walking test, duck walk, flat feet test...etc.
Doctor visit: You will go into a room with a doctor and they will ask you your medical history.
Doctor check: you will wait all together in another room while the other person is in the room and they will turn the lights off to test your eyes again then turn the light back on, then ask you to lie back and he will check your stomach and stuff like that then check to see if you are really a boy or girl. My doctor told me to " spread my legs" which was uncomfortable coming from an 80 year old man lol.
* I was told by the guys that were there that they have to do the cough test and then get a finger up thier butt as well* who knows if they were serious or not though.
after that you go to check in at the desk with your check like * make sure you have all your paperwork done and in order or the guy will yell at you and embarrass you* and then he will place you in a swearing in class and then you are done for the day and report to your recruiter when you are done.Good luck :)

Seriously? These guys are low class trashbags yet they think they deserve a pretty thin woman. I just don't get it. In my opinion, these losers shouldn't even have girlfriends. I know there are lots of uneducated women out there who are thin and considered pretty that will date these rejects. A pretty, educated thin women would never date a felon, wage slave worker, loser who can't provide anything besides a penis. What do u think?

"A pretty, educated thin women would never date a felon, wage slave worker, loser who can't provide anything besides a penis. What do u think?"...actually, this isn't true. Women will typically choose a mate based one of two primary considerations: his genetic qualities, or his ability to provide. These two things rarely come in one package. The "bad boy" types usually have beautiful women simply because they have the confidence to attract them...and confidence often stems from physical appearance which, essentially, is the best indicator of quality genes. The other types, the responsible providers, usually have to work to get the same thing. The mating game is not about what you deserve. Nature is not about that at all. It's about luck and odds. And these irresponsible bad boys have the odds in their favour.

How do you feel about women openly displaying tattoos?

Blakey

Tacky? Cheap? Common? I have a preference for no tattoos, but so many girls seem to have one these days. Does it bother others? or is there limits? for example, full body tattoo. too much? or even any small one is bad also?

Answer
I remember paying a dollar at a side show circus, 35 years ago, to see The Tattoo Lady. Since then, I've always considered tattoos to be the most UN-Lady like thing a woman could do to herself.

The dumb thing about tattoos is that right now, they're more of a fashion statement than anything else and what's in style now, won't be in style a few years from now. So what are these people going to do about their permanent tattoos?

If you think that tattoos are fun and sexy, get a henna tattoo and change it often. Playing "what's the tattoo of the week and where is it hidden" could be a fun and sexy game.

Answer
places: top of foot, inside ankle, outside ankle, behind ear, back of neck, back bottom right side....

what to get: well first off i'd stear clear from getting any names permanant on ur body.. but if ur just DEAD SET on getting something about ur bf on u then maybe go for a symbol or animal or something along those lines.
EX) my cuz wantd something of her bf on her and we talkd her out of doing a name (thank goodness) and she went with a bear claw and used the middle of the claw as a CD...because his nickname since childhood is bear and hes a dj. and they broke up!! (not saying that is going to happn 2u) and now she atleast has a beutiful design on her body rather than a name she'd be ashamed of!!!

and for your three kids...hmm...stars?? well evn though they are popular now...are they still going to b as popular in 10-15yrs?? butterflies?? overly popular...try to think of something original... what do ur kids like? what are their names? their fav flowers?? what about three different flowers intertwined at the stem?? just keep searching for something and try to make it original as possible...wouldnt u want something permanantly on ur body to be meaningful rather than popularly cute??

anyways GOODLUCK with everything!!!!!!!!

Answer
God created a set number of angels 30 billion?; 1/3 of all angels rebelled 10 billion?God turned the rebels into spiritual darkness (demons) and expelled them from heaven. there was a void in heaven of 10 billion open seats.God decided to create humans to replace the demons. God said that He will let demons trick people into following them, but when 10 billion seats in heaven are filled, God will send demons and those who follow demons to hell. demons dress in fake human skin and fly in ufo ships;pretend to be angels of light, ghosts, pagan gods, greys, ouija board movers.jigsaw from saw movie is not only gay but he's antichrist. when people will look at jigsaw, they will see many angels surrounding jigsaw, but in reality those are demons. the main demon is black with red eyes. antichrist is white with red eyes. if anyone worships jigsaw, they'll go to hell 100%. also, soon the world government will be giving mandatory small grey world passport. when people stretch their hands to receive the small grey world passport, a small green electronic tattoo with sixes will be given by lasers. if anyone receives this tattoo, they'll go to hell 100%. people who kill themselves wind up in hell 100%. also, people who blaspheme the Holy Spirit, go to hell as well. God is one but decides to reveal Himself to the world in three distinct persons: as God the Father, as God the Son (Jesus Christ), and as God the Holy Spirit. now, let's switch to the ufo bases that the demons built. they are located on the moon, in lake baikal, underneath mariana trench (atlantis is here), and inside a fake mountain in tibet (buddhists consider this mountain holy, but as was mentioned, pagan gods are demons). there was also a time when 200 angels told God that they would fare better than humans if they had human bodies (angels and demons don't have bodies - they're just spirits). God told them that He could give them human bodies but if they mess up, He'll punish them severely. these 200 spirits agreed to take this deal. what happened was that when these 200 angels (aka anunaki in pagan beliefs) descended on a mountain in middle east, they saw beautiful female descendents of cain, and took them wives for themselves. these 200 anunaki had giants as kids. giants built the pyramids and other colossal monuments around the world. anunaki taught witchcraft, astrology, blood drinking, human sacrifice, abortion, art of war, etc. God became angry and punished the world for following anunaki. anunaki were imprisoned underneath a desert in middle east. 300 thousand giants and 700 thousand people who followed anunaki and other demons were drowned in world flood. only 8 people were saved in the flood. me and u are descendents of these 8 (noah with his wife, and their three sons with three daughters-in-law) who survived in an ark-ship. animals that knelt before noah went into the ark with noah. animals that didn't kneel were drowned. a bit later, nimrod (world leader) and his wife semiramis (she was in charge of a brothel) created a one state pagan religion (sun-moon-bull-sex worship). nimrod was also in charge of building the tower of babel. this tower was built by masons who wanted to reach heaven and fight God and establish pagan religion in heaven. this was silly, to say the least. God burned the top third of this tower, sank the bottom third inside the earth, and changed the original language into 70 different languages. so, one third of builders killed each other because of misunderstanding, one third ran away, and one third were cursed to become apemen and elephantmen. silly atheists claim that we come from apes when in reality apemen were cursed masons. hindu religion has an elephantman deity. this is absurd. let's get to something even weirder. 80 foot dinosaurs live beneath the earth. they will soon come out through lakes and sinkholes. this is a punishment for spreading ideas of evolution. major climate change will follow. there won't be any clean water left. world government will hide food on purpose too. stores with food will be set up to laser people with the above-mentioned evil tattoo. it's better to die from hunger than receive this tattoo. now, let's go to the main message of christianity. God incarnated (took on human body) to die for our sins so that we can go to heaven. now why was this necessary? well, remember the 10 billion seats from before? yep, they're all empty because everyone went to hell. there were only 2 people that went to heaven (enoch and elijah). so, God didn't want all people to burn in hell, so He provided a cure for this - He died on the cross for our sins and went to hell to pick "believers in Him during their lives on earth" to take them to heaven. now most people go to hell too, but christians don't. why? because God said that if you believe in what He did for you on the cross, and feel sorry for your sins, and stop sinning, you'll go to heaven.
