Josh

The main line of the music is piano. It shows a story of a man and a woman in love and they take a trip to the carnival. The woman ends up cheating on the man with the circus clown so he kills himself. After he's crumpled on the pavement a large old man pulls his heart out with his cane. Throughout the entire video the old man is tattooing the events that led to the man's death on his heart.

What is your opinion about tattoos? Particularly on women?

Q. Guys and girls--I am wondering what you think about tattoos on women. Do you like them? Hate them? Does it matter where it is, how big it is, whether it is meaningful or just for fun? Are you religious and if so, do tattoos bother you?

I am considering getting a very small one on my hipbone, so I am curious.

Answer
I am a tattoo artist and I also have several very large tattoos myself so I obviously LOVE THEM. I don't care what people think of my tattoos. I did not do them for other people I did them for me. As far as being religious. I really don't think it matters much. I have tattooed Catholics, Baptists,Pagan,Satanists,Atheists, Buddhists,Roman Catholics,Christians, Wiccans, Muslim's, you name the religion and I will show you a follower with tattoos.

Is it wise get a tattoo before switching branches?

Joker66

I want to get a tattoo, and active in the military at the moment. I plan to switch branches when my ETS comes near. Is it a good idea to get a tattoo before I switch? It will be on my forearm. I never had a tattoo so I'm really thinking about it.
Branch will be Navy.

Answer
So you want to get a tattoo...why? Do you think it makes you an individual or somehow a "rebel?"

Consider this - there are 47 MILLION Americans who are now tattooed. You can get your tattoo and compare it to the brand-new tats I see on women in their 70s and 80s. Sure makes them look tough and rebellious.

Be a real rebel...do NOT get a tattoo before switching services if you are too much of a mindless zombie not to get tattooed at all. Get the tat and risk switching services .

Whatever happened to individuals who wanted to be NON-conformists?

Oh children of teh gay, will you now heed the warnings of the divine master?

Q. Franz Kafka will lick the dingle-berry of injustice lest we all put rubber chickens into our pants. REJOICE, for I have a coupon good for a free inner-colon tattoo! Vegetarian Zombies will eat our Tofu with ketchup, and every woman wearing pink panties will get get a million dollars.

Answer
Teh snitching simians will likewise fall from the trees like rain, felled by a mighty thunderclap, the Yamster will bend and fart, sanctifying their bodies for all time.

We will then egg the Yamster with ostrich eggs, and send him to the desert, accursed.

Tattooing

Answer
Tattooing has been a practice of almost every known people. The Ainu, the indigenous people of Japan, wore unique facial tattoos. Tattooing was widespread among Polynesian peoples, and in the Philippines, Borneo, Samoa, Africa, Japan, and China.

Tattooing has been a Eurasian practice since Neolithic times. "Ãtzi the Iceman", dated circa 3300 BC was tattooed, as was the mummified male found in the Pasaryk burial whose body was tattooed with stylized animal designs. In the Steppes, other natural mummies up to 7000 years old have been found to have tattoos.

Europeans rediscovered tattooing during the exploration of the South Pacific under Captain James Cook in the 1770s, and sailors were particularly identified with tattoos in European culture until after World War I.

Tattoos have always had an important role in ritual and tradition. In Borneo, women tattooed symbols on their forearm indicating their particular skill. If a woman wore a symbol indicating she was a skilled weaver, her status as prime marriageable material was increased. Tattoos around the wrist and fingers were believed to ward away illness. Throughout history tattoos have signified membership in a clan or society. Even today groups like the Hells Angels tattoo their particular group symbol. TV and movies have used the idea of a tattoo indication membership in a secret society numerous times. It has been believed that the wearer of an image calls the spirit of that image. The ferocity of a tiger would belong to the tattooed person. That tradition holds true today shown by the proliferation of images of tigers, snakes, and bird of prey.

In recorded history, the earliest tattoos can be found in Egypt during the time of the construction of the great pyramids (It undoubtedly started much earlier). When the Egyptians expanded their empire, the art of tattooing spread as well. The civilizations of Crete, Greece, Persia, and Arabia picked up and expanded the art form. Around 2000 BC tattooing spread to China.

The Greeks used tattooing for communication among spies. Markings identified the spies and showed their rank. Romans marked criminals and slaves. This practice is still carried on today. The Ainu people of western Asia used tattooing to show social status. Girls coming of age were marked to announce their place in society, as were the married women. The Ainu are noted for introducing tattoos to Japan where it developed into a religious and ceremonial rite. In Borneo, women were the tattooists. It was a cultural tradition. They produced designs indicating the owners station in life and the tribe he belonged to. Kayan women had delicate arm tattoos which looked like lacy gloves. Dayak warriors who had "taken a head" had tattoos on their hands. The tattoos garnered respect and assured the owners status for life. Polynesians developed tattoos to mark tribal communities, families, and rank. They brought their art to New Zealand and developed a facial style of tattooing called Moko which is still being used today. There is evidence that the Mayan, Incas, and Aztecs used tattooing in the rituals. Even the isolated tribes in Alaska practiced tattooing, their style indicating it was learned from the Ainu.

In the west, early Britons used tattoos in ceremonies. The Danes, Norse, and Saxons tattooed family crests (a tradition still practiced today). In 787 AD, Pope Hadrian banned tattooing. It still thrived in Britain until the Norman Invasion of 1066. The Normans disdained tattooing. It disappeared from Western culture from the 12th to the 16th centuries.

While tattooing diminished in the west, it thrived in Japan. At first, tattoos were used to mark criminals. First offenses were marked with a line across the forehead. A second crime was marked by adding an arch. A third offense was marked by another line. Together these marks formed the Japanese character for "dog". It appears this was the original "Three strikes, you're out" law. In time, the Japanese escalated the tattoo to an aesthetic art form. The Japanese body suit originated around 1700 as a reaction to strict laws concerning conspicuous consumption. Only royalty were allowed to wear ornate clothing. As a result of this, the middle class adorned themselves with elaborate full body tattoos. A highly tattooed person wearing only a loin cloth was considered well dressed, but only in the privacy of their own home.

William Dampier is responsible for re-introducing tattooing to the west. He was a sailor and explorer who traveled the South Seas. In 1691 he brought to London a heavily tattooed Polynesian named Prince Giolo, Known as the Painted Prince.

Unique cultural practices that people do in other parts of the world (has to be outside US)?

If your man thinks tattoos on women are trashy, he'll probably see you as trashy if you get one.

But if it's in a discreet place, no one else will know.

How Much Discomfort Is There Getting A Tattoo On Your Shoulder?

tattoos for women shoulder blade image

billy90009

Im getting one on my back like on my lower shoulder blade and I heard that the more thin a skin is [Aka bone is there], the more it hurts, or feels discomfoting. How much discomfort will come of it when I get it on this spot?

Answer
I have work over roughly the upper 2/3rds of my back, obviously including this area (both sides). It's not the worst area; down near the sides the skin is way more sensitive. On the other hand, it's not on the arm, which is nearly trivial.

Once the endorphins kick in I could generally talk a bit, but sometimes needed to concentrate on breathing. It's a good area to get work on, and worth any discomfort. You can show the work off without too much trouble (sleeveless tee), or hide it if you need, and regardless large & flat, excellent for a lot of art.

Just make sure you get enough sleep, eat a normal meal ~1 hour beforehand to keep your blood sugar stable, and you'll be fine. Oh, and I always shower right before I head over for a session. No sense in offending the man or woman who's about to spend 1-3 hours working on your skin.

What are some meaningful "poetic lyrics" to get tattooed on a woman?

Lo

I have 3 tattoos and I'm thinking about getting lyrics tattooed either down my for arm or between my shoulder blades. I'm thinking about something by The Beatles since they're my favorite band, but I think that's too common, and not as poetic as I want it to be. Any suggestions?

Answer
Well, since I don't know what kind of poetry you like, it's hard to say; and so I am tempted to suggest something by my favorite poet, Baudelaire. This poem is one of his best, and is called Reversibility; I have always wanted to get a tattoo of one of the verses, but have never gotten around to it. Here it is:

Reversibility

Angel of gaiety, have you known anguish,
Shame and remorse, tears, boredom, and dismay,
Vague horrors of the nights in which we languish,
Which crumple hearts like papers thrown away?
Angel of gaiety, have you known anguish?

Angel of kindness, have you met with hate?
Fists clenched in gloom, eyes running tears of gall,
When Vengeance beats his drum to subjugate
Our faculties, the captain of them all?
Angel of kindness, have you met with hate?

Angel of health, have you beheld the Fevers?
Across pale walls of wards they limp and stumble,
Like exiles wan, with agues, chills, and shivers,
Seeking the scanty sun with lips that mumble.
Angel of health, have you beheld the Fevers?

Angel of beauty, do you know Old Age,
The fear of wrinkles, and the dire emotion,
In eyes we've pierced too long, as on a page,
To read the secret horror of devotion?
Angel of beauty do you know Old Age?

Angel of goodness, radiance, and delight,
The dying David would have begged to share
The emanations of your body bright.
But all I wish to ask of you is prayer,
Angel of goodness, radiance, and delight.

EvilGuppy0

I have a shoulder tattoo of a sci-fi looking girl wearing a gas mask. I need some ideas of what would look good with that, for an entire back piece.
Pictures would be wonderful, but ideas are just as good.

Answer
Well, ask yourself what theme and meaning you want this back piece to have. Is it apocalyptic? War related? What value does the piece have and what sort of symbolism from your own life can you add into it? Sorry this is vague, it's just hard to suggest much when we don't really know what you were aiming for.

I don't mean substantially tattooed, just like a couple. Two small wrist tattoos, one on each wrist. Or just tattoos on women in general. ? Thanks.

I don't like it when people have one or two small tattoos*, get big custom work or just don't bother.

Properly tattooed women are fantastic. My wife has her sleeves done.

Im only 14 but im considering getting a tattoo or two when im older. I want one of an arabic symbol for a quote i like, two words, on the outside of my foot below and behind my ankle bone. (But not on my achilles!! ) And i maybe one on my ribs where my bra would cover it, that says "new and improved" in cursive. Whats your opinion? What do they feel like? What do you think of tattoos in general?

Answer
I like (and plan on getting more) small, simple, meaningful tattoos. I already have one, which I got on my ribs, just underneath the bra line. It makes me feel sexier, because no one can tell I have a tattoo unless I want to show them + no one would really expect me to have a tattoo, everyone was surprised when I told them :)

How bad does a collarbone/chest tattoo hurt for girl?

Haley

I am getting two crows on my chest under each collarbone, so it will not be in the center of my chest. I don't have a particularly bony chest, like you can't see my sternum, and I am not muscular at all. Also I have two tattoos already that I did myself with a sewing needle and India ink, on my wrist and ankle. It hurt obvs but it was definitely bearable. Should I be expecting incredible pain or tolerable pain?

Answer
Actually it won't really hurt very mch at all. I have a 4 tattoos one on my upper middle back, one on the top of my foot 1 on the wrist and one of in the left side of my chest underneath my collarbone. Any goof tattoo artist won't do a tattoo directly on your collarbone bc when u move the skin stretches and it distorts the tattoo but right below it is just skin with
No bone so for me it personally didn't really hurt.

Depends on your body type and what type of skin you have. Some women don't get stretch marks at all. My sister has 4 kids and goes right back to having 6 pack abs . . . but it is possible for that to happen.

Q. I want to get roses and hawthorn flowers in honor of my relationship with my sister. My sister was born with spina bifida and she has taught me to just have faith in things and everything will work out. We are super close I'm just not sure how to make this into a really beautiful tattoo.

Answer
Hey!!! I got roses withs vines and thorns around a latin word on my ribs and i can tell you its a really nice place to have that tattoo. Flower+vine tattoos are really good looking on women (and well im a guy and i manage to make it look bad @$$ also) so you might want to consider that region. For the actual design i would say go talk to a tattoo artist, get a consultation. They have great ideas and they know what looks good with your body type, complexion, etc. Oh and dont forget: dont limit yourself with budget or because people tell you it hurts (not that bad actually), because good tattoos arent cheap and cheap tattoos arent good!:)

Hope that helps!:)

Is it okay to get tattoos if your going into acting?

Sandra Lam

I've seen actors and actresses with tattoos before. I mean they can cover it right? And do they only cover with clothing or can they edit out?
*you're (I spelled it wrong. ha.)

Answer
As an actor in training and a theatre make-up artist I can tell you what a pain tattoos are to deal with. I spent 15-20 min daily covering a girl's tattoo on the back of her neck for a show and because we didn't spend tons of money on special tattoo covering cosmetics you could still see the black outlines and touches of the navy. It was also a pain to get the make-up off. It took forever and it was a few days before the color was right again. Proper tattoo covering cosmetic for theatre can cost hundreds of dollars and it takes skill and time to apply it, and for film it's nearly impossible to hide tattoos without prohibitively expensive SPX. They aren't going to do through that for a nameless person even if they just might be god's gift to acting in a few years.

Think of it this way, as an actor your body and skill are your product. And abnormalities limit your marketability so the best thing to do is leave your body as it was naturally formed. Meaning no tattoos.

Buk

I am a Muslim from Turkey, and I was raised religiously. I was always thought that permanent tattoos are a sin. But last week, I went to Jordan, Petra. Its an amazing place, but I noticed something. There are a lot of bedouins there, and they have facial tattoos, especially women. They had tattoos on their faces like dots, and Islamic arts. Is this allowed?

Answer
well the only way i think i can really think this through is to make a pro and cons list.

but unfortunately i had way more hardcore cons than pros. Only Allah knows. but its better to stay on the safe side. plus it probably is haram because there is a hadith that says that the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) said that if anyone does anything to show off has committed the sin of shirk.

this is because you are trying to please someone else other than Allah. And if you dont know for sure that tattoos are halal and you still get one, it's like not really caring if its halal or not you just want to show off with your tattoo, which is MAJOR shirk.

btw, i dont mean you personally, im just talking in general. :)

i really hope i helped!
and hope your question is answered with a real legit answer, insha'Allah!

oh p.s. those dots you say on womens face, if your talking about the line on their chin and the two dots on each side, thats a tattoo the country people do. they are committing shirk as well, because they do it because they think it makes them look beautiful. but thats only if thats the tattoo your talking about.

if i get a tattoo on the side of my ribs will it get stretched out when i get pregnant?

M

i want a tattoo on my side where my ribs are, like where my arm falls when it's straight down by my side. is that a safe enough area, or will it stretch a little when i get pregnant?

Answer
It might just a bit. Depends on weather or not you're prone to gain a bunch of weight when you get pregnant. Ask your mother if she got real big during her pregnancy. Are you planning on getting pregnant soon? If so, then just wait the 9 months then get the tattoo. If you're just thinking about it for the future, then don't worry too much about it. If you make a conscious effort not to gain too much weight during pregnancy (now I'm not saying starve yourself and unborn child-gain the appropriate amount, but don't over due it like some women do when they use pregnancy as an excuse to eat anything and everything and then the weight is hard to come off after wards.) Like I was saying, if you just make sure not to go overboard with the weight gaining during pregnancy and do your best to tighten up after the baby comes, then yes I think you should be fine, ribs are one of the last places to accumulate weight...I'd be more worried about the tummy area. Especially if you turn out to be one of those women who gain it all in their belly and stay tiny everywhere else (those lucky
b!tc*es!) haha. Best of luck...

Yeah I think the shoulder sleeve would look really, really cool.
But you have to make sure it suites you (i'm sure you already know that lol)

What should I expect to pay for a single color, simple script style, 6"x3" tattoo with two names? ?

Nothing fancy, just a basic tattoo of my kids names on my right side of my chest. I haven't gotten tattooed for a while so I have no idea what to look for.

tattoos for women on upper thigh image

Sean

Don't give me a speech or preach about tattoo on my forehead I want it a little above the between of my eyes a simple stick cross. How painful would this be?

Answer
I answer these questions related to pain in the same way every time.

The pain in different places differs from person to person, pain threshold does have a lot of input but, for example, my chest tattoo didn't hurt at all, where as some people I know said their chest tattoo hurt a lot!

Anyway, here's a basic pain level chart I always reffer people to.

Pain level 1
These include the upper arm, forearm, calf, Bum, and Thigh. For a 1st tattoo these are great points to begin your inked journey.

Pain level 2
These include the centre back, front / side of thighs and shoulders. This is also not too bad a start for your first tattoo. The shoulders and central back region can be area that require quite a lot of movement. The skin on these areas is much looser meaning it takes longer to tattoo and also longer to heal. On areas that have lots of movement such as these, require more care once a tattoo is completed. Due to the thigh area being quite a dense muscle mass and also quite tight skin, it may tend to bruise the day after.

Pain level 3
These include the knees, elbows, hands, head, neck, feet, chest and back of thighs. Beginners beware of starting at these areas. You would need to be determined to have tattoos here as the high sensitivity would require a lot of mental focus to get you through. The poor quality of skin on both the knees and elbows will result in a very slow tattoo process and nerves are very close to the surface in these areas. This could result in the tattooing being unbearable for any length of time for some people. As with the orange areas these tend to be high movement areas and will require a longer healing timescale. You may find that to achieve a good solid colour, you may have to repeat the tattoo process on these areas. As a side note the chest area on men can be much more sensitive to pain than a woman, yet due to the tighter skin on a male, the tattoo can be completed quicker.

Pain level 4 (OWCHIE!)
Areas include hips, ribcage, stomach, back of knees, armpit, inside of elbow, nipples, lips, inside of thighs and genitals. Are you really sure you want to get that tattoo? As these areas can elicit crying, half finished tattoos or even the customer passing out. This could just be more than you may be able to handle. All of these purple areas are considered by most to be the most painful areas to be tattooed. The stretchy or thin skin over bone are slow to tattoo, some of these may require multiple sessions to achieve solid colour and smooth shading. Healing can be just as painful as receiving the tattoo and may require a few days off from your regular activities.

SOME USEFUL TIPS WHEN GETTING A TATTOO:

â¢Women are your more sensitive the week prior to and during your cycle. Plan around those dates to have the best experience possible when getting your tattoo.
â¢Use lotion everyday on the area to be tattooed at least 1 week prior for healthier skin and better results.
â¢Do not go out in the sun at least one week prior to being tattooed (including tanning beds) This drys the skin and if peeling occurs could damage the tattoo.
â¢Consider what you will wear for 2 weeks while healing if your tattoo is in an area like the foot, waist, shoulders or chest. Shoes, waistbands, belts, underwear, and bras can all damage tattoos if you do not plan ahead. Find comfortable clothing that will not touch or rub during this time.
â¢Always eat a good meal before being tattooed and drink plenty of fluids.
â¢Be sure to get a good nights rest before your appointment.
â¢Ask what kind of aftercare products you will need when you set up to get your tattoo.
â¢Mention any allergies you may have, pigments, dyes, perfumes.
â¢Some medication may thin your blood, check with your doctor before being tattooed.
â¢Anyone with an autoimmune disorder needs to check with their doctor and should bring a note to be tattooed.

What restaurant has more of a Christian atmosphere?

Joe

Apple Bee's, T.G.I.F's, Olive Garden or Red Lobster.

I am taking my Bible study group to one of those restaurants listed next Wednesday, and I want to minimize the chance that anything satanic or atheistic happens when we are enjoying our fellowship. I also want to avoid being served by young men with earrings or anyone with tattoos or young women showing their inappropriate cleavage. Please tell me which establishment is the most appropriate for good Christian folks.

Answer
I'm a Christian and don't necessarily like going to places where alcohol is served. With that being said unless you cook dinner for your friends at home there is a chance no matter where you go you are going to run into what you mentioned above. Jesus met with all types and you should show your waiter by example that your group is different. Apple Bee's and Olive Garden (and I've never been to the other 2) serve alcohol. To me that should signal a red flag right away for a Bible group. There are several places in my town that don't serve alcohol and that is where I would go. I think of this one time we were out and about and the waitress was terrible. We left her a nice tip anyway and a track with the plan of salvation. It is all in how you approach people. I mean just seems a duh not to go to one of the places that serves alcohol unless you agree with it.

Is a woman in Judaism permitted to pierce her belly button for adornment purposes?

Judaism does not permit tattooing, but some body piercing is permitted (e.g., ears). I am not aware of the Jewish position on piercing the belly button.

I think they're trendy. A sub fad of the tattoo fad.

When you're out looking for work you may regret any (ear, neck, wrist, hands, fingers) visible tattoo.

My husband just got a tattoo on his wrist (he has a sleeve of various tattoos) of two naked ladies sitting back to back (like on truckers mud flaps). He's not a trucker. What is this called and what does it symbolize? I'm not sure if I should be worried or not. Thanks for any replies!!

How do you feel about tattoos?

bvides

I'm planning on getting a tattoo, (either on my wrist, my shoulder, my hip, or my ankle) but just out of curiosity, how do you feel about tattoos?

And if you ever did choose to get one, where would it be and what would it be of?

Much thanks to anybody who responds!

Answer
I think you will, and already have, gotten two very different sets of responses from two very different sets of people.
People either love 'em or hate 'em!
The thing is, generations are becoming more and more tattooed as time goes on. I myself have a few, which I love, and plan on getting more. My Mother absolutely hates them, and wishes I still had the "skin and body of a woman" meaning untouched and unaltered. In my opinion, colorful designs pictures and scrolls, are just as beautiful (if not more) than soft flesh, and plain skin. I understand her argument, but just love the art form too much to agree.
Tattoos tell stories, and start conversations. There is no more beautiful form of art, than the art someone chooses to be on them forever and represent them in this permanent form of beauty.
Know what you want, do your research, and fall in love with every tattoo you choose to get. Even someone who doesn't agree with tattooing, can appreciate someone loving their body, and feeling proud of what you do with it!
Happy Tattooing :)
