Tattoo ideas?? HELP!?

cutiee(:

My big sister just passed and I want to get a tattoo in her honor. I'm not sure what to get. I think i want it at the bottom of my neck? something small. Her initials are ABP. I want to add the day she was born and the day she passed but I don't have to have it. and she loved to sing. so maybe something with angel wings, a halo and music notes? HELP ME! btw im a girl. lol

Answer
im no tattoo artist but you could get a music note symbol like thishttp://www.google.com/imgres?imgurl=http://www.tattooshock.com/prod_images/1597-music-note-tattoo.jpg&imgrefurl=http://www.tattooshock.com/1597_music_note_tattoo.htm&h=144&w=144&sz=2&tbnid=6gT4TCiLNBAP0M:&tbnh=94&tbnw=94&prev=/images%3Fq%3Dmusic%2Bnote%2Btattoo%2Bdesigns&hl=en&usg=__Ir8jX4Bvg17WUtiTqNyvuR4dQ2Y=&sa=X&ei=VLhsTI2mG4OglAeR3cC7Ag&ved=0CCIQ9QEwBg

and make the music stem into an A and get the rest of her name..
i dont think you should do initials...my opinion

will my tattoo make me look gay?

Q. ive wanted to get a musical note behind my ear but have questioned the idea. i asked my girlfriend and she thinks im a pretty boy and that the tattoo could make me appear gay. is it a type of tattoo that is associated with being gay?

Answer
The tattoo itself not at all.
I even have music notes tattooed

The placement is kind of gay. Usually girls get tattoos behind the ears not guys

what do you think of tattoos on women?

puppy.love

so i want to get an small 'infinite' tattoo on the back of my neck, and i want to know your thoughts on the situation, so here are my queries.
- what do you think of neck tattoos?
- is this a good choice?
- will i regret it?
- will it look trashy?

Answer
Tattoos aren't limited to a specific gender. There's many girls and many guys that get tattoos. Some guys love tattoos on women and some guys prefer them to not have them.

1) What do you think of neck tattoos?
I think they're cute and girly while also being cool and tough looking. If I were to get a tattoo, I would definitely get one on my neck.
2) Is this a good choice?
Only you can be the judge of that. (: If it's what you really want, you should do it! Don't worry about how others feel! It's a statement about you. :D
3) Will I regret it?
You may or may not. This girl that I used to know got a tattoo and everyone talks smack on her because she stole it off of photobucket and she regrets getting it because it's unoriginal and she gets called "fake" for it. Just make sure that the design you choose is one that has a good meaning.
4) Will it look trashy?
Not on your neck, no. It's not like you're getting a tramp stamp. :) It's just a small tattoo on your neck. That makes it pretty easy to conceal, as well.

I wish you the best in making your final decision and I hope this helped!

Tattooed earlobes.....?

Q. I want to get my earlobes tattooed..just a pretty color ...and just a plain circle...the reason is.ive wanted stretched ears but ive already blown out my ears.good idea..?how often would I.need a touchup???

Answer
Let me begin by saying that I hate, nay, loathe gauged ears. I find it disgusting. But, I'm pretty tatted up and have had several piercings and love piercings.

There is a woman who is somewhat attractive who works as a server at a restaurant I sometimes go to, and she has a simple tattoo on the wide portion of her outer ear, some mesmerizing blue color. every time I see her and that tattoo, I fall in love like a schoolboy.

So yes, as long as it is tasteful, please do.

Can someone help me with some tattoo questions/concerns?

Lightning

I am looking to get a tattoo for my birthday in a few months and I am hoping someone can help me with a few questions and concerns.

I know that some tattoos are a bit pricy considering the size and location on the body. The one I want it fairly small, smaller than my fist and I want it on my ankle. It also contains several colors. I have heard that the more colors in your tattoo the more expensive it is. But I have also heard that this is false.

First question; based on the size and location of this tattoo how much pain should I expect?
Second question; what would be a good amount of money to save before going to get the tattoo (I know quotes change by day so I'm not really expecting to get a decent quote from a parlor)?
Third question; is it true that it's more expensive for colored tattoos?

I also am concerned that the tattoo will fade in color later in life. Does this happen, and if it does, what can I do to prevent it? And of course there is the standard concern of the tattoo getting infected.

Here is a picture of the tattoo I want. It's the heart one (I am clarifying as there are two tattoos on the woman in this picture.)
http://www.geekytattoos.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/03/Zelda_Heart_Container.png

Answer
Hi! Well, I have three tattoos. One on my ribs, one on the side of my hip and another on the inside of my ankle. I'm telling you this because I have a point - I promise. Taking each 'pain' of all three tattoos didn't measure up to the pain I had when I got my tragus pierced. When I got my tragus I wanted to cry. For the tattoos I almost fell asleep.

Anyway, everyone has a different pain tolerance, what might hurt me might not hurt you and vice versa. The ankle IS a boney area so you will experience some discomfort. To me the outlining hurts the worse than the shading but I've heard for most people the shading hurts worse.

I would save a good bit amount, granted I don't know the pricing where you're located but looking at the tattoo it does look like it would cost a pretty penny considering it does have a lot of dimension in it.

Around here where I live (Louisiana) generally speaking colored tattoos that have more than two do tend to cost a bit more than just black tattoos. And like I said before, since your tattoo will have a bit more depth in it, the price will raise.

Coloring does fade BUT if the tattoo artist uses good quality ink, you should be on the safe side. My tattoo artist (who happens to be my uncle) used this new Japanese ink and the colors are fricken vibrant as hell. I have pink, orange and blue and I've had this tattoo for almost 4 years now and it's still as bright as it was the day I got it. The things you can do to prevent is keep it out of direct sunlight. AFTER it has healed, use sunblock on it because the sun will drain the color out and if you go into a tanning bed, cover it up.

Like I previously said, I have three tattoos none of them got infected but then again everyone is different. Just keep it clean, and do as your tattoo artist tells you. After I got my tattoo done on my heel my uncle had told me whenever I leave my house put a bandaid on my tattoo because if I don't the dirt from the ground kicking up will get into it but make sure it's an actual bandaid not a gause.

Also, please PLEASE PLEASE make sure the tattoo artist you're going to is a GOOD one who does good work and uses clean things. I'm not saying this being I'm thinking you wouldn't other wise but I just feel like I need to stress this because my uncle is a tattoo artist and I've seen horror stories coming in the shops and it's just awful.

I hope I helped some, good luck!

rib tattoo experiences?

Amber

im going to get a tattoo on my rib cage right on my bra line. I know pain is subjective to the individual but im wanting to hear other peoples experiences. The one i am getting is a quote based off of a biblical quote, and i want it in a script font.

What are your experiences, how much pain 1-10 , care and after care, should i be prepared to go braless for a few days?

Answer
I answer these questions related to pain in the same way every time.

The pain in different places differs from person to person, pain threshold does have a lot of input but, for example, my chest tattoo didn't hurt at all, where as some people I know said their chest tattoo hurt a lot!

Anyway, here's a basic pain level chart I always reffer people to.

Pain level 1
These include the upper arm, forearm, calf, Bum, and Thigh. For a 1st tattoo these are great points to begin your inked journey.

Pain level 2
These include the centre back, front / side of thighs and shoulders. This is also not too bad a start for your first tattoo. The shoulders and central back region can be area that require quite a lot of movement. The skin on these areas is much looser meaning it takes longer to tattoo and also longer to heal. On areas that have lots of movement such as these, require more care once a tattoo is completed. Due to the thigh area being quite a dense muscle mass and also quite tight skin, it may tend to bruise the day after.

Pain level 3
These include the knees, elbows, hands, head, neck, feet, chest and back of thighs. Beginners beware of starting at these areas. You would need to be determined to have tattoos here as the high sensitivity would require a lot of mental focus to get you through. The poor quality of skin on both the knees and elbows will result in a very slow tattoo process and nerves are very close to the surface in these areas. This could result in the tattooing being unbearable for any length of time for some people. As with the orange areas these tend to be high movement areas and will require a longer healing timescale. You may find that to achieve a good solid colour, you may have to repeat the tattoo process on these areas. As a side note the chest area on men can be much more sensitive to pain than a woman, yet due to the tighter skin on a male, the tattoo can be completed quicker.

Pain level 4 (OWCHIE!)
Areas include hips, ribcage, stomach, back of knees, armpit, inside of elbow, nipples, lips, inside of thighs and genitals. Are you really sure you want to get that tattoo? As these areas can elicit crying, half finished tattoos or even the customer passing out. This could just be more than you may be able to handle. All of these purple areas are considered by most to be the most painful areas to be tattooed. The stretchy or thin skin over bone are slow to tattoo, some of these may require multiple sessions to achieve solid colour and smooth shading. Healing can be just as painful as receiving the tattoo and may require a few days off from your regular activities.

SOME USEFUL TIPS WHEN GETTING A TATTOO:

â¢Women are your more sensitive the week prior to and during your cycle. Plan around those dates to have the best experience possible when getting your tattoo.
â¢Use lotion everyday on the area to be tattooed at least 1 week prior for healthier skin and better results.
â¢Do not go out in the sun at least one week prior to being tattooed (including tanning beds) This drys the skin and if peeling occurs could damage the tattoo.
â¢Consider what you will wear for 2 weeks while healing if your tattoo is in an area like the foot, waist, shoulders or chest. Shoes, waistbands, belts, underwear, and bras can all damage tattoos if you do not plan ahead. Find comfortable clothing that will not touch or rub during this time.
â¢Always eat a good meal before being tattooed and drink plenty of fluids.
â¢Be sure to get a good nights rest before your appointment.
â¢Ask what kind of aftercare products you will need when you set up to get your tattoo.
â¢Mention any allergies you may have, pigments, dyes, perfumes.
â¢Some medication may thin your blood, check with your doctor before being tattooed.
â¢Anyone with an autoimmune disorder needs to check with their doctor and should bring a note to be tattooed.

Looking for any tattoo ideas!I am a gothmo/ scene girl?

Hope

I am 17 n going to be a mom soon! However, I am a gothmo/scene girl and would like any ideas on what tattoo to get and where it should be! Pics would be nice!!

Thx
I was going to get a tattoo dedicated to my baby!!!

thoughts??

Answer
As any decent tattoo artist (That is, decent as a person... No relation to talent with the gun) should tell you, if you don't have any idea what you want, or where you want it, you probably don't really want a tattoo.

Tattoos are a very personal thing. It really shouldn't be a matter of "Hey, this is a nice picture. Wanna put it on your skin?"

Get something personal to YOU. Who are YOU? What do YOU love?

If you really want a suggestion... Wait until the baby is born, and get their birth date. I don't know of anything that can be more personal than that...

My point is though, this thing is going to be on your skin for life...

DON'T get anything that makes you think "Hmm... That might be interesting."
ONLY get something that makes you say "I'm going to be proud to have this on my skin, even when I'm 60, because this is an expression of who I really am."

sooo can anybody tell me how bad it would hurt there?
& what you estimate the price might be?
THANKS!

Answer
Tattoos are fine needles piercing your skin at a high rate of speed - there is NO WAY this can be done without pain - in WOMEN, the pain is WORSE in the upper breast area, upper back (like where you want it done) the inner thigh, wrists and ankles. ANYWHERE there is not much muscle OR it hits close to the bone.

Pricing depends on the artist, size, colors, and if they have a hangover or not and like you or not. I have a 4 inch by 3 inch dragons head on my upper back - 4 colors, black outline, cost me $100.00 2 years ago. My eagle feather is bigger and more complicated, that was $75, but the guy really liked me. All my other small ones ran between 25 and 30 dollars but that was over 25 years ago!!

The PAIN depends on YOUR tolerance level - it is more of an agitating annoying pain, and it goes away fast. Your tattoo will probably cost around $40 maybe more. Don't go late at night - go right when the shop opens.

tattoo advice (design, pain etc)?

J

I am a 19 year old Australian woman and I need advice on getting a tattoo.
1. I want the second skull in this illustration on my hip or upper-outer thigh. Do you think this will look tacky or nice on a young woman?
http://www.drawninblack.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/11/skull-dr_bock_plate01.jpg
2. How much do tattoos hurt? I have an ok pain threshold, but it's not that high
3. My 18 year old sister (who also wants a tattoo) and I live at home. Mum hates tattoos, so how can we hide them?
Thank you!

Answer
1. It sounds like it will look incredibly nice tattooed on either your hip or upper-outer thigh. It doesn't sound like it will be tacky in anyway.
2. It completely depends on you. Places with less tissue before bone tend to hurt less in my experience, for example; I have one across my upper back that didn't hurt too much, but the one on the nape of my neck hurt. It's sort of like pins and needles, it can be painful but it isn't too unbearable.
3. Just keep them covered up around her. :)

[Guys]--Is Sleeves or Alot of Tattoos On Girls Unattractive?

ray.

I've always wanted alot of tattoos, i think people should enjoy their body while they're young, worry about stuff later do what you want. But i didnt know if it would look retarded. I'm blonde and kinda preppy probably wouldnt look right but want it anywayss. ?
Okay Not Complete Sleeves: --Just like Shoulder blade to not even elbow. which could be covered by a simple t shirt. =)

Answer
I see the other ppl who answered this are girls too, even though you asked for guys, so I'm gonna answer anyway! lol

I know a few guys who think extensive tats on girl are sexy, but most don't. Many guys prefer subtle ones in private spots or a few that are meaningful. I don't really know any guy who wants his girl to have sleeves. The only woman I know who has them, her husband owns a tat business and they do suit her, and her lifestyle.

Jobs and tattoos, please answer.?

idk

I want a tattoo on my forearm like this: http://media.photobucket.com/image/lacey%20mosley%20tattoo/FlyLeafcorps/flyleaf/l_5b98c6ef72f45c10e01f44ececbec55e.jpg?o=2

But with a different word, that I haven't decided yet.

I want it on my forearm, because I don't want a tattoo on my side or my lower back, or my foot, i would probably get another one on my upper back and arm. My arms are always covered anyways...so It wouldnt be a big deal to cover it up.

Would this be okay for jobs, I am not completely sure what career I want, either a graphic designer, photographer, journalist, or a singer in a band (which I'm in one right now), archeologist, or writer. ( I know most of those it doesn't matter if you have a tattoo or not.)

I'm 18 & female, what do you think of a girl having a tattoo there?

Answer
I have wrist tattoos and am a graphic designer. I have held corporate positions where they made me wear long sleeves, and I have worked for private companies that let me show them off. It really depends on the employer. Just wear a long-sleeved suit to your interviews. After you are hired, ask about tattoo policy. They'll let you know--worse comes to worse, you'll just have to wear long sleeves every day.

Tattoos are eternal and you're still young. Make sure this is really something you want for the rest of your life. If the answer to that is yes, then go for it.

Tattoos on Girls?

Tonster

Do you think they are unattractive on girls. If I did, it would be music notes behind my ear and a design of a star moon and sun on my hip for my faith. Thanks

Answer
It all depends on what you get and who you have it done by.

Personally, I think most tattoos are gorgeous on the body (male or female). I've seen some massive tribal work done on girls and it was amazing. Your tattoo ideas sound lovely and would be rather easy to hide anyway.

At the end of the day though, it all depends on what you think and what you want to do with your body.

Is it cool for girls to get tattoos?

Q. Hi I am gay, my girl friend has lots of tattoos and wants me to get some. I have had my ears scallped to two inches thinking that would be enough, but she wants me to have my arms tattooed all black, i think it would look cool, but what do you think?

Answer
Yes......girls look sexy with tattoos,it just tells that they can bear PAIN,and are wild and horny...I love girls with tattoos

TATTOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!?

Paigeee <3

I'm 15 and my step mom said i can get a tattoo when i turn 16 which is jan 6th. What should my first tattoo be a tramp stamp or like a little star or something? If you have any suggestions plz write them down & try to put a picture lol thank you!!!!!!!

Answer
First, don't let anyone sway your opinion on if you want a lower back tattoo. They were around long before the term "tramp stamp" was invented, and they'll be around long after people ask "what's a tramp stamp?". If that's what you want, then go for it!

Second, seeing as to how tattoos are forever, make it something meaningful, or something that you will enjoy for the rest of your life. Remember that likes and dislikes will change a lot over your life (especially in the next 5 years of your life), so when you make your decision, make sure that it won't be something you'll hate later on in life, such as lyrics from a band you can't remember 20 years from now ^_~ (however, if it's meaningful lyrics, or from your 'all time favorite band', then consider it [ex: I would be happy with the lyrics from Metallica's Fade to Black, but I'd kick myself if I had Vanilla Ice's Ice Ice Baby]).

Likewise, if you choose some picture of some sort, unless you plan to have a 'child-like playfulness' about you your entire life, I would avoid any sort of child-like imagery (if fate should have it that, at 80, you're a bitter old woman, you will hate the lollipop tattoo on your ankle), or conversely, anything too 'extreme' from your 'average self' (if at 80 you're a kid-at-heart, the tattoo that reminds you to take the "safe route" might become too stuffy for you).

For something meaningful, consider your own personality traits. If you think of yourself as being courageous, pick a lion. If you're cute, pick a puppy or a ribbon. If you love stargazing, pick celestial figures. If you're religious, pick your favorite passage from your (insert appropriate book here), or an icon from your favorite story. If you take pride in your heritage, pick a pattern based off that heritage... and so on.

If you want something purely artistic but simple, some suggestions: a shower of stars, a rainbow ending in a cloud, butterflies (consider natural butterflies as well, as they are just as vivid in nature as our own imaginations), frogs, geckos, vines, flowers, leaves, small birds, owls, or smiley face with "Have A Nice Day" (or maybe a pirate happy face with "Have A Piratey Day, ARRR!", or some other theme like that).

Most tattoo shops will have flash (common tattoo images) on their walls for you to look at, so if no ideas here satisfy what you want, check out their flash, and see if you can't work with your artist to come up with something that's "uniquely you".

Tattooed women, Do you have any tattoos on your ankle/leg? If not then why? Is a sleeve better on arm or leg?

vmp009

This made me curious ever since I read someone else's similar questions. I have tattoos on each side of my ankle and just assumed that it never looked bad or bothered anyone, since I've gotten all compliments. I never understood though why people are saying that tattoos on the leg only look right on "certain" women who know how to pull off that look. What does that mean? I like the way a leg sleeve looks (a small one) + it can easily be concealed when needed. Also, why would anyone think it looks too masculine for a women to tattoo her leg.- Most guys I see have their arms & back, not their legs!
Thanks!

Answer
I have a tattoo on my ankle. It doesn't quite go all the way around and I do plan on finishing it, as well as getting one on my other ankle. For me, I would get my legs covered before my arms. It's easier to cover if you need to do so. I wear jeans most of the year anyway, so it would be less likely to fade.

To each their own. Put your tattoos where you want them, not where other people think they should be.

Should I get a tattoo on the back of my neck?

D2235

Im a guy and i want to get a chinese symbol tattooed on the back of my neck, but i was wondering would that be more for girls and should i get it somewhere else instead.

Answer
why a chinese Character? Are you Chinese? If not, getting another language tattooed on you is incredibly pretentious. There is a big cost to getting a tattoo, and it is far more than wasted money. The true cost of a tattoo is a lifetime of regret. Most regret it within 5 years. There is an 80% chance you will regret it in your lifetime. The regret starts after you start to notice how people react to you. Some will look at you with disgust, for tattoos are offensive to many, many people. I suggest you do not get a tattoo. A tattoo is little better than a cartoonâyou canât get a good quality drawing on the human skin. It will deface your body like ugly graffiti defaces a public buildingThere are serious practical reasons not to get tattooed. Your chances of getting a good job will be greatly diminishedâmost companies will not hire you since your tattoo will be seen as offensive to other workers. The majority of western people get tattooed when young and their decision making process is not yet matured. Youth tends to be impulsive. Young people are still developing and they need to be very careful in making important, permanent decisions. The reasons young people get tattooed are not mature (i.e. they want people to notice them, they want to pretentiously âhonorâ someone in a way that will attract notice, they want to pretentiously present some âdeepâ quotation on their skin in the hope that people will think they too are âdeepâ, they are rebelling against their parents or society, they are conforming to what they think are social norms, they are unable to see ahead and view the negative results of their actions, etc.) If you want to see the true level of cultural development for tattoos and other body modifications, look at this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wwOXCmjTsvs In a large sense, nothing illustrates the degeneration of western culture more than the entertainment industry encouraging impulsive youth to permanently disfigure themselves in order to âexpress themselvesâ. But such is the power of suggestion that more and more young people are buying into this Hollywood lie that tattoos are a cutting edge way to âexpressâ yourself. But that is so not true. You should express yourself with your words and actions, not by inking graffiti onto your living flesh, in a manner offensive to both man and God, who instructed us through His prophet Moses: "Do not cut your bodies⦠or put tattoo marks on yourselves. I am the LORDâ Leviticus 19:28. The message you will actually convey with a tattoo is âI am foolishâ, âI make bad decisionsâ, âI have no sense of right and wrong,â âI follow fadsâ and âI am unemployableâ. I am telling you this because I care about you and I want to help you. Good luck to you in your life. But do not get tattooed. Tattoos are permanent. You can not take them back.

My Dad passed away towards the end of last year and I was looking to get a tattoo in memory of him. I have never had a tattoo before and know nothing about them so i'm looking for a little help. Firstly i'm a male, are "RIP" or "In memory of" tattoos popular with men and women equally? (Are they deemed feminine?) Also, where should I have the tattoo drawn on my body? Any links to designs for inspiration would be helpful as well as alternative messages i can have written on the tattoo other than simply RIP etc.

Answer
I recommend you to try http://www.createmytattoo.com for your tattoo. This is a cool place. I personally tried CreateMyTattoo for my tattoo design and I am completely blown away by the design that I got from CreateMyTattoo.com The artist captured exactly what I wanted.

Do people get tattoos on their privates?

Q. If so, why? To be cool in sex???

Answer
First of all who doesnt want to look cool durring sex? I don't know a lot of us who want to have something between our teeth or otherwise look stupid at that sort of moment. We all want to look dashing, skilled and talented which are all quite cool.

People get genital tattoos for the same reasons they get them elsewhere. To express their personality and interests.

I got mine (it covers the whole triangle in front) to decorate the area and claim it as my own. It sounds silly to have to own your crotch, but in a world where women are supposed to look, dress, and act a certain way or feel guilty about it, I wanted something to remind myself that I did not. I wanted a beautiful design that I could look at and remember that my body is my own expression, not whatever the TV says it should be. As a secondary goal it compliments the tattoos across my collarbones very well and gives a sexy sort of "tattoo lingerie" look. It suits me and I consider it dead sexy.

Other people get their tattoos to be amusing. They want something clever and risque, so there isnt a better place to put it. There are little stick figures pushing lawn mowers across bushes and countless "clever" phrases on penises. If you're going to tattoo "Inflate here" on your body, and you naturally have a "nozzle", why would you put it any place else?

If you want to know why someone tattooed their genitalia, you are just going to have to ask them. Every tattoo has a story or a reason, these tattoos are no different.

does it hurt to get a tattoo on the side of your lower abdomen?

Q. i cant explain it good but idnt want it directly above my private part just above, then move to the side and thats where i want it. you get it? sorry if its complicated.
yes monty =] thats what i meant. more by my hip then my stomach. just didnt know how to explain it. and thanks for the info =].

Answer
Every tattoo hurts, think about it, it's a needle going about a nickel's depth into your skin several times a second. I've got two in about the same area on each side. The only reason I had the other side done was for symmetry. I'm male, even though these tattoos are a good 6-7 inches away from my man-parts, it still hurt worse than any of the 7 other tattoos I've gotten. People think that getting one directly on my ribs hurt the most, turns out thats the least painful.

However, I've had women tell me that their tattoos in that area didn't hurt so much, but the tattoos on their ribs were killer.

Have a Guy or woman ever Tattooed your name on them?

Q. If so how did it make you feel? And is it any woman or men who girlfriend or boyfriend still have an ex name tattooed on them?

Answer
Yes. Despite my objections someone tattooed my name on their ankle. We broke up a few months later. The weird part is, I saw him last year and that tattoo is still there. We broke up 10 years ago! I have to wonder what the women he's dated since thought out if. A word of caution, folks, only tattoo the names of your kids or your dearly departed on your body.

Where to get my kids name tattooed?

TOTAL CONF

I am wanting to get my kids names tattooed on me, but I already have a lower back tattoo and I think that to many tattoes on a woman looks trashy. My problem is that b/c of that I don't know where to put it...I have thought of getting an anklet that looks like a braclet tattoed on and then have my kids initials tattoed in hearts that would look like charms on the braclet anklet....what do u think....where else could i put one?
Any ideas on where that would look nice?

Answer
I don't really get what you're asking - you want a tattoo that doesn't look like a tattoo to anybody who'll see it? It will still be another tattoo, if you think it's trashy then perhaps you shouldn't do it. But if you want to disguise it as a non-tattoo then yes, an anklet/bracelet/necklace is your only option I suppose. But if it's so trashy to you then perhaps you should just buy an anklet to avoid the hypocrisy of the statement you just made. But put initials in something that small then you'll find they blur and become unreadable after a while. Perhaps add onto your existing tattoo with your children's names so you'll still just have the one tattoo.

And FYI - limiting yourself to a certain number or tattoos is fine. Disliking any more tattoos is fine. Having your own private thoughts is fine. But perhaps next time you post on a board full of tattooed women, you might want to rethink your wording, to avoid insulting most of us here.

Hope you don't mind me answering - I'm trashy, by your accounts.

Wrist tattoo for a girl? Your opinion?

Anonymous

Hi,
So I'm thinking about getting a tattoo on my wrist. I would get the Jesus fish. (If you're not familiar with it, it's just a very simple fish looking symbol, haha). I'm a very strong Christian, and have worn one around my life my entire life. I would want it to be just quite small and in simple black ink.
Anyway, I'm not a typical tattoo wearer, if there is such a stereotype. I'm a very tiny (5'1" and slender) 18 year old girl... not exactly the tough type. But it's something sweet that has a lot of meaning..it's not like I'm tattooing a fire breathing dragon on my wrist (the opposite of my personality)

So what do you think? I'm becoming a marine biologist, which is a field very accepting of tattoos and piercings, but it would be very small, so it could be covered anyway.
Oh, and it'd be on the inside of my wrist. I don't know if people tattoo the outside of their wrist, but just to be clear. (:
*Also- I really don't want to hear people telling me I'm not a strong christian because I want a tattoo. Seriously, just don't.
And I already explained the job situation.
Just ignore the religious part and give your opinion on wrist tattoos.

Answer
I am a strong Christian. 51 years old and just got my first tattoo 3 weeks ago. It is a cross with Isaiah 53:5-6 referenced on it. Your choice of jobs should be ok for a small tattoo on your wrist, but I would still suggest a spot it could be more easily hidden.

But I really doubt your choice and placement would be a problem.

The tattoos that are referenced in Leviticus have nothing to do with the tattoos Christians get. It dealt with a culture that easily went back to it's pagan roots and worshiped idols and marked their bodies with images of idols.

Leviticus also tells us not to cut our hair and eat certain things. Man couldn't follow all the "laws" that is why Christ came and changed that.

Hip tattoo for curvy girl?

Megbee

Hey, I was thinking about getting my first tattoo in a place that's easily concealable, but I can show off when I want to. I was thinking my hip would be a nice place, but I'm a curvy girl, and a little heavyset, so I was wondering how these tattoos look on heavier people?

I want something... generally like this:

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v258/neko_strawberry/cherry_blossom_medium.jpg

Any opinions? :)

Answer
Being a curvy girl myself. Thanks to my 2 beautiful kiddos I think it is great that you want a tat on your hip. That would be beautiful. If that is where you want it I say go for it. It is something sexy that can be reserved for someone special you want to show it to. We seem to get caught up in the stigma that skinny equals the plateau of beauty but that is NOT that case I know many skinny women and do not have any grace or beauty about them. Tramp stamps are so 1990 the hip area sounds like a great place to put it. And when you are a grandmother you can cover it up. :)
I say go for it. it is 2008 sexy comes in many shades & sizes.

GIRLS and TATTOOS?

flirt

i need opinions from people....
whats your opinion of girls with tattoos?
for example one on lower and one on hip.

Answer
i have many tattoos. i started when i was 16 , and i am now 35. I work in an office , and i have tattoos that show, and some that dont, and i LOVE my tattoos , and i really dont care what other people think. I am also a mommy , and my girls LOVE when my hubby and i put the temorary tattoos on them. my tattoos dont make me who i am. i have a wonderful family, a good job, a nice home, the best of friends. all of my tattoos however are very feminine looking, but some are big. one on my leg goes from my ankle, to almost my knee, and goes some parts over my shin, and some pasrt around the back of my leg. and if i wear a skirt, it shows, and i dont care. you know what the difference is between people who are tattoed, and people wgo aren't ? people who are tattood dont care if you are.....
