Will my tattoos stretch when I get pregnant?

d

I want a tattoo on my stomach pretty bad but I am terrified that it will stretch when I become pregnant. Has anyone gone through this? Did your tatt stretch? Did it go back to normal?

Answer
Youâd better not do it. During pregnancy, weight will significantly gain. If tattoo on your lower abdomen, it will really damage. This is the reason that doesnât encouraged women getting tattoos before planning to have children. girls with sleeve tattoos, change your attraction?

girl

I will be getting 2 half sleeves, I have my first appointment in a month. I am doing greek mythology, and each character sort of plays parts from my life. If that make sense. I'm really excited about it and have been thinking of the pieces for over a year now. I also have tats on the top of my feet, and one on my lower abdomen.
I'm 22 years old, work full time, etc. I dress very feminine, lots of flowery dresses, sometimes kicked back with some vans.
I'm curious to the male population.. I have heard it automatically passes the judgment of "trashy" when a gal dons tattoos, especially sleeves. Being so visible. I'm getting it done either way, only curious. Are they someone you automatically snub your nose up at? Or don't want to show off to your friends.. etc. I suppose, a good fck. But, not wifey material?
Or do you find it attractive?

Answer
I think women with tattoos are sexy especially if you're going to have half sleeves or full sleeves. Women with tattoos are hot so don't worry about what some guy may think just because he is too scared to get a tattoo and rag on everyone else who has them. I could see myself marrying a women with tattoos or without, tattoos shouldn't have nothing to do with whether to mary someone or not. If you come across some douchebag who isn't into tattoos and has nothing good to say about them then they really are not worth your time. You want to find someone who loves you for you whether you have tattoos or not. I'm 22 years old and have 3 tattoos and plan on getting more and would love to find a women who was into tattoos just as much as me. So for me I find it very attractive and if you decide to get full sleeves that will be very hot but half sleeves are hot too so have fun getting tattooed and don't worry about what morons like Truth think about it. Your wifey material to me but don't worry about what ignorant morons who have no tattoos think about it, they know nothing about tattoos or why people get them.

Don't listen to Truth because he/she is one of those people who are too scared to get a tattoo so they make up reasons on why not to get one and rag on everyone who has them. These kind of people have no lives and are probably really depressed and get off on making others angry and riled up. Good luck getting tattooed!

Edit: lol, Truth changed it's name to Good Advice which is the complete opposite of what he/she does. It doesn't matter if you change your name, you are still full of sh*t.

Can i get a finger tattoo?

Deme Mo

thinking about getting a small birdcage and a flock of birds flying out of in on my ring finger. Is this possible for a artist to acturally do on a finger? I know they are more likely to fade because I got one done and in a matter of months the word I got tattooed was unreadable. This is something I really want....and if you could, can you provide proper hand tattoo care because i'm not trying to have it fade again.

Answer
detailed tattoo care can be found at this link
http://www.tribal-celtic-tattoo.com/care.htm

One of the most delicate, yet meaningful branch of tattooing is finger tattoos. They could be in the form of a wedding band on the ring finger or simply a pattern tattooed on any part of the finger. The advantages of finger tattooing is that the tattoos can be made easily visible or hidden according to where it is inked, it cannot be stolen (if it is a wedding ring!), the bearer has a constant reminder of a person, place, thing or event that it symbolizes and it is a very comfortable accessory to have on. The only thing you have to remember is that since finger tattoos are pretty intricate, there are chances of flaws and more pain involved. The tattoo artist must be a good one for you to get exactly what you want! Taking care of a finger tattoo is quite easy. If you are looking to be unique, do away with tattoos on the arms, back, shoulders and ankle and get a finger tattoo! Read about some of the finger tattoo designs that you could use.

Finger Tattoo Designs

Personal Tattoos
This form of tattooing is the most popular form for it expresses the personality or individuality of the bearer. They could be words such as â love, faith, music, belief, truth, hope, dream etc or could just be symbols of peace, a heart (for love!), doves, yin and yang etc. It might either be something symbolic of what you believe in or something that has inspired you to move ahead in life. Personal tattoos are fashionable and yet complete. They can also be done in different fonts and colours.

Knuckle Tattoos
This is also a part of the finger and most men, and these days even women, like to get themselves inked at this place. Usually, these tattoos make sense only when both the hands are put together. Though a variety of patterns can be used, generally it is a wording of about 8 alphabets long (leaving out the thumbs on both hands!) such as Game Over, Self Made, Free Mind or Godâs Will etc. Knuckle tattoos are a bold approach to life and can be visible all the time.

Honour
It is believed that in ancient times after the passing away of a near and dear one people got their fingers tattooed. It is a way to remember the person as more than just a memory in their minds. Most probably, the tattoo used to be the name of the child, partner or spouse that has died. It symbolised that the person is there in spirit even though not present in real. These days it is done in beautiful fonts and lettering. Simple designs can be drawn around this to symbolize the gravity of the situation.

Vine Tattoos
These kinds of tattoos are fashionable and yet go ages back to the Roman era. Vines are symbolic of celebrations. Vine tattoos can be made of holly or cherry blossom even and look very graceful on slender fingers.

The art of tattooing is not just fashionable or customary in nature nowadays. It has more to do with individual expression than anything else. And finger tattoos are gaining popularity for this reason itself. So, why wait, try one for you and your beloved!

What are some good tattoo ideas?

Q. I'm getting sleeves, I want some tattoos representing my love of music, video games, comic books. I'm a nerd. I like metal music. I was looking for some good ideas, but I can't really find anything that's original. I want something from Skyrim or W.o.W. Any ideas will be accepted.

Answer
You are still going to have these tattoos when you are a very old person. Instead of Skyrim and WoW, why not just some imagery that reminds you why you used to love these games as a kid? So, go deeper. What is it you like about the game. How does it make you feel? Tattoo an image of that emotion, not an image of the game, that you might outgrow 5 years from now.

If I had gotten tattoos when I was a teen, I would have cartoon characters on my body, and I'm now a 53-year-old woman. I'm much happier with my yin yangs than I would be with Fozzie Bear.

woman that wear hijab?

eng.saheb

what do you think,,women must wear hijab or it is bad thing??

Answer
Why Do I Wear Hijab?

I probably do not fit into the preconceived notion of a "rebel". I have no visible tattoos and minimal piercings. I do not possess a leather jacket.
In fact, when most people look at me, their first thought usually is something along the lines of "oppressed female."

The brave individuals who have mustered the courage to ask me about the way I dress usually have questions like: "Do your parents make you wear that?" or "Don't you find that really unfair?"

A while back, a couple of girls in Montreal were kicked out of school for dressing like I do. It seems strange that a little piece of cloth would make for such controversy. Perhaps the fear is that I am harbouring an Uzi underneath it.

Of course, the issue at hand is more than a mere piece of cloth. I am a Muslim woman who, like millions of other Muslim women across the globe, chooses to wear the hijab. And the concept of the hijab, contrary to popular opinion, is actually one of the most fundamental aspects of female empowerment.

When I cover myself, I make it virtually impossible for people to judge me according to the way I look. I cannot be categorized because of my attractiveness or lack thereof. Compare this to life in today's society: We are constantly sizing one another up on the basis of our clothing, jewelry, hair and makeup. What kind of depth can there be in a world like this? Yes, I have a body, a physical manifestation upon this Earth. But it is the vessel of an intelligent mind and a strong spirit.

It is not for the beholder to leer at or to use in advertisements to sell everything from beer to cars. Because of the superficiality of the world in which we live, external appearances are so stressed that the value of the individual counts for almost nothing.

It is a myth that women in today's society are liberated. What kind of freedom can there be when a woman cannot walk down the street without every aspect of her physical self being "checked out"? When I wear the hijab I feel safe from all of this. I can rest assured that no one is looking at me and making assumptions about my character from the length of my skirt. There is a barrier between me and those who would exploit me. I am first and foremost a human being, equal to any man, and not vulnerable because of my sexuality.

One of the saddest truths of our time is the question of the beauty myth and female self-image. Reading popular teenage magazines, you can instantly find out what kind of body image is "in" or "out." and if you have the "wrong" body type, well, then, you're just going to have to change it, aren't you? After all, there is no way that you can be overweight and still be beautiful. Look at any advertisement. Is a woman being used to sell the product? How old is she? How attractive is she? What is she wearing? More often than not, that woman will be no older than her early 20s, taller, slimmer and more attractive than average, dressed in skimpy clothing.
Why do we allow ourselves to be manipulated like this?

Whether the '90s woman wishes to believe it or not, she is being forced into a mold. She is being coerced into selling herself, into compromising herself. This is why we have 13-year-old girls sticking their fingers down their throats and overweight adolescents hanging themselves. When people ask me if I feel oppressed, I can honestly say no. I made this decision out of my own free will. I like the fact that I am taking control of the way other people perceive me. I enjoy the fact that I don't give anyone anything to look at and that I have released myself from the bondage of the swinging pendulum of the fashion industry and other institutions that exploit females.

My body is my own business. Nobody can tell me how I should look or whether or not I am beautiful. I know that there is more to me than that. I am also able to say "no" comfortably then people ask me if I feel as though my sexuality is being repressed.

I have taken control of my sexuality. I am thankful I will never have to suffer the fate of trying to lose/gain weight or trying to find the exact lipstick shade that will go with my skin colour. I have made choices about what my priorities are and these are not among them. So next time you see me, don't look at me sympathetically. I am not under duress or a male-worshipping female captive from Arabic deserts. I've been liberated.

Why are most women such whores these days?

Claire

When I go out I see women dressed in short little skirts, tattoos all over their body. They go out and go home with guys they do not even know. Now I noticed heaps of guys these days, just think most women are sluts who will just go to bed with them. Why would a women want to let a guy just use her like that? why would they enjoy a going to bed with some one they do not even know? I think it is just wrong

Some people might see me as a slut because I go out and talk to heaps of guys, even let them buy me drinks. My dancing is even a little slutty but when I go out I never let people touch me, or I never go home with any guys.

It is like people think it is cool to be this way
Its like the new in thing
What happened to people wanting to have a relationship, or at least getting to know some one first

Answer
Women (and men for that matter) respond to what they think are societies expectations are of themselves. They see themselves through the media. And when music, tv, movies all teach us what is acceptable, or where the moral bar is, we respond in kind. I also think there are other reasons too: rebellion, competition and empowerment. I think today's society has become the most disillusioned, mistrusting and rebellious ever for numbers of reasons basically which boil down to, "it's all a lie" and "we might all be dead tommorow". We fight wars for greed, we exploit the earth and abuse each other for power and wealth. And that's the "why" behind, "Why leave anything for the future (that may or may not be here anyway?)". "Get it now" and "have fun while you can" in the name of immediate gratification.

This spills over to our core values. There has been a lowering of the bar of morality for some time now. And "why not?" half of all marriages end in divorce. "Saving oneself for marriage" or "being a good girl", doesn't nearly get you the respect or carry the stigma it once did. And the downside is, relationships become more about "how you look" than "what your values are" or "what kind of a person you are". And the more diluted and artificial things become, the easier it is for a young girl or man to accept being self centered. Having values and morals and depth is just not repected. And in a way too, it's more confusing too, at least before there were more defined roles and values.

What's supposed to be liberating and freeing, in itself becomes enslaving, as they are artificial. Without values, things have no meaning. You are not satnding for anything except ego. And what I mean is: On one level, having 15 cute guys chasing you at a club desiring you "feels empowering" at first, because it feeds the ego. But becomes quickly meaningless, when you find all they desire is your body alone. That you had no value. What felt empowering, "being wanted" becomes meaningless, because you are "just a thing" to be desired and you personally have no respect. Singurally, you are "not special". As being once obtained, you are thrown away, like so many other disposable things in society. The goal was "attainment", obtained and ego satisfied, the purpose and meaning are gone.

And unfortunately too.. this can feed on itself, because now a young woman "feels" she has less value and "needs" to do what's expected to compete? I don't know if this all makes sense?? But to wrap it all up, let's just say: "Hollywood has fed us crap that's untrue, media lies, politicians lie, we have grown to expect gratication now and this has led to a lowering of self respect and standards.

what does tattooed stars mean behind a woman ear?

Q. Just curious

Answer
i have them andd i just got them for no reason to be honest. they could symbolize something different for each girl. sometimes a star on a girl means she's a lesbian but i have them and i'm not. if its about a specific girl ask her what it means, people generally like talking about their tattoo's meanings :)

How much would an anchor tattoo behind the ear cost?

XO

Can someone give me an estimate of how much a black and Grey anchor tattoo behind the ear cost? I want sit imilar to the tattoo in the picture like the same size.

Answer
a tattoo that small and with that little detail should be "shop minimum" - meaning the least amount the tattoo parlor will take to do any tattoo, it's pretty standard for that to be in the 40-60 dollar range. - also, not trying to lecture you, but as a woman who is litterally covered in tattoos,I urge you to really think about it before you get this, or any tattoo on your neck. Its pretty permanent, and if you're worried about the price of the tattoo, you would be SHOCKED by the price of tattoo removal!

Please explain the reason for extensive tattoos!?

1Foxymamao

I have several friends who have recently gone & got tattoos. I'm not talking about little subtle tattoos, I am talking about an entire leg, arm, torso, etc. The thought of how permanent that is really freaks me out. Not saying it's right, but so many employers discriminate against body art (unfortunately). One friend almost looks diseased, because she has so many designs on one leg. I would think these can't be covered up easily once you get so many. Please help me understand the thrill. It just looks odd to go to a formal occasion with body art all over your arm. It's almost a lifestyle change. Again, I am not discriminating, I'm just wondering if I'm missing something, or if you can cover them with makeup?

Answer
You're right, it is a lifestyle change! You suddenly become part of a new 'culture' and the first thing people see about you is your tattoos.

I'm not heavily tattooed - I have 8, one is smallish, one is medium and the rest are medium-to-large. One of my upper arms is covered, it isn't joined up into a half sleeve because it's all black and grey but it is still very noticeable. Couple on the other side and the rest are on my back which is mostly covered. I will be having quite a few more tattoos before I'm done though.

It is true that it's addictive. I never saw myself having a lot of tattoos, and once upon a time it used to matter to me what it'd look like in an evening dress etc. But it sort of creeps up on you, you get one you want a second, you get a second you want a third, then suddenly you want about twenty!

We all have our individual reasons but for me, I just see them as an extension of my own skin. Personally, I don't just have random things in random places. Although the designs are all different, they are all based on a similar style and I see my body as one large canvas that I'm decorating in some sort of order. It's not all planned out or anything but, for example if you had a real canvas, you wouldn't just place the odd bit here and there on it that didn't correlate, you would work it into one design layout, even if that comprised of different designs. Does that make sense? Well that's just how I see my body.

And I think they're beautiful, and they make me feel much more confident about my appearance. They are my favourite thing about my outward image, so I'm not ashamed to show them off in dresses or whatever.

The employment factor is of course important - some people carry on without regarding it but I think they are mostly foolish, it is definitely important to consider it. No tattoo is worth not being able to feed your family for! I'm currently studying to be a teacher, and generally speaking visible tattoos are not allowed in that field. But I know some teachers with sleeves or visible tattoos at least and I've spoken to them and asked around, and the general consensus is that long sleeve aren't that bad (here in rainy England, at least!). Particularly for women, who, when it does get hot in summer, have the option of looser fitting, light and floaty tops. My tattoos so far don't go past my elbow for this reason, to give me the option of half length sleeves, I don't know if I'll change my mind in the future but I'm going to wait until I'm at least in my career before going onto my forearms.

You can get special makeup to cover tattoos but I personally don't know of anyone that uses it. The general consensus is that tattoos are just as much part of the skin as moles, freckles, birthmarks, etc. Just because it came later down the line doesn't mean they don't become natural for us, if that makes sense.

I totally understand why it might be difficult to grasp the concept when you're not 'sucked in' yourself! And there's nothing wrong with asking about it! I think there are a lot of things about people that we don't understand and sometimes will never understand, but we simply have to accept the diversity in life and accept people for what they are, without judging them for these traits. :-)

Edit: Oh and something else, as I reread your question and noticed the 'not little subtle tattoos' bit. There are a lot of people who get one or two tiny little things and leave it at that. And that's great for them. But generally speaking, they're a totally different type of person. People who end up extensively tattooed are usually seriously interested in tattooing as an artform, and usually people who just have one or two little things are not. It's like comparing people who have earlobe piercings to people who are heavily modified with piercings - different kettles of fish, earlobe piercings are very common, but someone who gets their ears pierced aren't really part of the same culture that gets fifty holes in their face. Personally, I find it weirder when people do just get one or two little tattoos. I don't judge and of course it's their choice - free world! I just think it's like dipping your toe in the water and never jumping in, I don't really see the point, whether they just have one to have one or what, I don't know. My sister has two tiny tattoos and we totally disagree - she is just like you and cannot understand me, and I can't understand her! I just personally think big tattoos look much better than tiny tattoos and hold up much better over the decades too. But once again we're back to the diversity point - and lets face it the world would be extremely boring if we were all the same! :-)

Placement of butterfly Tattoo on a girl?

Kelly H

I am wanting to get a butterfly tattoo not too big i have the design picked out i just am not too sure of where to put it. have any ideas?

Answer
Good question. I was actually thinking the same thing the other night (btw there are some gorgeous butterfly tattoo) now getting a tattoo kind of boils down to body size... if you are tiny then on your hip works good, and on your lower back, lower back even works for average size women too. Your shoulder neck and foot work for any size because they are areas that do no gain alot of excess fat. I am getting mine on my neck (because i think it looks cute) and on my foot (to cover up an old tat) because i fluctuate alot. You can also get it on your ankle... and pretty much where ever you want to... Just some ideas!!!!!

Answer
a tattoo is a form of expression. chose something that describes ur personality and something that u can relate to. its like body art, and u decide what you like to paint. sometimes a simple word like love or peace can say alot about you, or a simple drawing of a heart or something... if u really cant think of anything you can look through the tattoo artist's file and have a look..good luck:))

It would look better on your ankle than lower back...it would be more unique, interesting and trendy.

Those are flower designs and flowers generally represent a woman's beauty and femininity...meanings actually varies depending on the person wearing it....nowadays, you can almost attach any symbolism to it as long as it has some kind of relation to your life.

TATTOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!?

Paigeee <3

I'm 15 and my step mom said i can get a tattoo when i turn 16 which is jan 6th. What should my first tattoo be a tramp stamp or like a little star or something? If you have any suggestions plz write them down & try to put a picture lol thank you!!!!!!!

Answer
First, don't let anyone sway your opinion on if you want a lower back tattoo. They were around long before the term "tramp stamp" was invented, and they'll be around long after people ask "what's a tramp stamp?". If that's what you want, then go for it!

Second, seeing as to how tattoos are forever, make it something meaningful, or something that you will enjoy for the rest of your life. Remember that likes and dislikes will change a lot over your life (especially in the next 5 years of your life), so when you make your decision, make sure that it won't be something you'll hate later on in life, such as lyrics from a band you can't remember 20 years from now ^_~ (however, if it's meaningful lyrics, or from your 'all time favorite band', then consider it [ex: I would be happy with the lyrics from Metallica's Fade to Black, but I'd kick myself if I had Vanilla Ice's Ice Ice Baby]).

Likewise, if you choose some picture of some sort, unless you plan to have a 'child-like playfulness' about you your entire life, I would avoid any sort of child-like imagery (if fate should have it that, at 80, you're a bitter old woman, you will hate the lollipop tattoo on your ankle), or conversely, anything too 'extreme' from your 'average self' (if at 80 you're a kid-at-heart, the tattoo that reminds you to take the "safe route" might become too stuffy for you).

For something meaningful, consider your own personality traits. If you think of yourself as being courageous, pick a lion. If you're cute, pick a puppy or a ribbon. If you love stargazing, pick celestial figures. If you're religious, pick your favorite passage from your (insert appropriate book here), or an icon from your favorite story. If you take pride in your heritage, pick a pattern based off that heritage... and so on.

If you want something purely artistic but simple, some suggestions: a shower of stars, a rainbow ending in a cloud, butterflies (consider natural butterflies as well, as they are just as vivid in nature as our own imaginations), frogs, geckos, vines, flowers, leaves, small birds, owls, or smiley face with "Have A Nice Day" (or maybe a pirate happy face with "Have A Piratey Day, ARRR!", or some other theme like that).

Most tattoo shops will have flash (common tattoo images) on their walls for you to look at, so if no ideas here satisfy what you want, check out their flash, and see if you can't work with your artist to come up with something that's "uniquely you".

Would my tattoo get ruined?

Katia

I'm an 18 year old girl and I wanted to get my first tattoo. I plan on getting it on my rib area (pretty much the whole side- from the top of my hip to about where a bra strap would be..? if that helps). I am on a mission to loose 50 pounds and I'm almost there. I have a bit of a stomach but not huge... I am starting to form a slight 6-pack. I was wondering if i got the tattoo now and then continued on working on my 6p would that mess up the tattoo in anyway?
Oh and please don't leave an answer saying that i should love my body and accept it. I'm loosing weight because I think I'm fat, I'm doing it for my health.

it depends on the placement of the tattoo. are you planning to get it on your front side, more on your back, or right down the side under your armpit? in my experience, if a person gets a tattoo and then loses weight (regardless of where the tattoo is on the body) it can actually make a tattoo look nicer, as it shrinks the skin and makes the colors tighter. if you dont have much weight left to lose, and its basically just toning up, then its a pretty safe bet it would be fine on your abs, I would suggest that you get this tattoo more towards your back though, because it has less chance of getting ruined should you ever gain weight again.

I have Tattoo ideas??

Grace R

I am thinking about getting a third tattoo and have come up with two tattoos that i like but before i commit i want to search my possibilities. I want to get it on my wrist so it cant be too big. I am a girly girl and want that to reflect in my tattoo. I have a numerous ideas could be in my tattoo.... love(hearts writing), devil/angel, crowns, stars, symbols (love, peace, hope etc.) If you have any ideas of how i could incorperate one or more of these into a small tattoo it would be really appreciated. You can email me at injimmysworld@sbcglobal.net if you come up with anything.

Answer
ok. so i dont tattoo myself but i do repeat one thing on myself with sharpie everyday after i shower. a heart right above my left pinky toe. its cute, girly, and easy to hide if you ever have too. also a daisy on your second toe of your left foot. [if you were a girl scout you should get this because its a song] i would get a simple star maybe shooting or a heat smiley or peace sign. or cross.
or just dont tattoo yourself at all. i mean you do already have two.

Concerns about Tattoo Ink?

Salamanda

I have been considering getting a small script tattoo on my wrist saying "Pray". I'm a very feminine girl and I don't exactly want any type of dark ink on my skin. I have been considering White ink or pink... any suggestions???

Answer
To actually answer your question - you can make your tattoo whatever color you want. White tends to fade though. And script usually looks better in black ink, especially over time. Again, you can pick whatever color you want, but think about the future and what you would like your tattoo to look like in a few years - do you want to have to touch it up more often than if it was just in black?

tattoo colors?

squuishee

i dunno what happened to my last questionbut here again... what do you think of very colorful tattoos and just grey and black on a girl? Also with very light complected skin tones.. thanks!

Answer
I love all tattoos. Color looks best on girls, period. I do love Kat Von D's black and grey scale tattoos as well. It's really up to the person getting tattoed if they want color or not. I've seen some pretty pasty white people and the bright, colorful tattoos on them stands out really well!

Foot Tattoo???

*I <3 my P

I want to get my first tattoo on my foot.....i know its supposed to be realllllyyy painful!....i want to get a blue butterfly i already have a pic of it, but i also want to add those sparkling looking stars and swirly lines to it.....i know how i want it all 2 look, but i suck at drawing!....if i let the person know and they draw something up, do they charge for that???...and if i dont like the drawing...do they draw another one and then charge again??? Please i need answers! I also wanted to know if sum1 can compare the pain on ur foot to any other kind of pain?
Im not getting a butterfly bcuz its pretty...im getting it bcuz....it was both of my sisters first tattoos (they have the same one) and so does my cousin...we are the only girls left so we wanted to share sumthin....but since i wasnt 18 at that time....i couldnt get it....now i dont want the same one as them...but similar!

Answer
first, don't worry about explaining what your tattoo means to anyone. as long as you know what it means to YOU and you know that it's something you can live with forever, that's all that matters. and i think the fact that it's something you and your sisters are sharing, makes it special.

every shop has slightly different procedures and policies when it comes to coming up with custom artwork. i've worked at several different shops, and they've all kinda done it differently. some shops don't charge anything, but they don't allow you to leave the shop with the artwork. some shops charge like, $20 but it goes towards to final price of your tattoo, so essentially you're not really paying extra. but it's a one time fee, you shouldn't have to pay it again, regardless of how many times the artist has to redo it. be picky, it's something that's going to be on your body forever. tattoo artists know this, so they will more than likely encourage you to really think about the final product and see if you'd like to make any changes so that it's just right for you. your best bet is to find a shop near you that you like the artwork/tattoos that comes out of there, contact them and ask them about their policies on drawing up designs.

as far as the pain goes, i don't have any tattoos on my feet, but i have tattooed A LOT of feet. everyone takes it differently. it depends on the persons pain threshold, and sometimes even depends on the artist. some artists are more heavy handed than others. i'm very light handed so i've rarely ever had someone complain while i tattooed their feet. they said it was a little painful but i've never had anyone fidget or scream or anything. i have witnessed a girl screaming at the top of her lungs and crying once when this guy tattood her feet....but he was extremely heavy handed. and i know this because i foolishly let him tattoo my back and i threw up i was in so much pain! and now my tattoo is scarred and raised up. i'm pretty much tattooed all over, but i have my ribs tattooed and barely felt it, and most people say that's also one of the most painful areas to get tattooed. so i know it was because he was heavy handed. you live and you learn. just remember that you are a woman, a bearer of children, and you can handle anything. i bet you'll be surprised at how well you will handle it. good luck with everything, i hope it turns out great!

Tattoos on women?

Hellomynam

What do people (guys and other girls) think about girls with tattoos? I'm not talking about the cool tattoos people get and regret for a lifetime but really meaningful and not too big or cliché ones. Is it okay, does it bother you too much? Would you find a girl less sexy or good-looking just because she has a tattoo?

Answer
I've seen a lot of very pretty stunning women and then i see they have big back, full sleeves, chest, full leg tattoo's and my first thought is "Your such a pretty girl why would you do this to yourself"

I LOVE LOVE LOVE small meaningful tatoo's on women. I think they look really nice and sexy on....

Tattoo ideas for 18 yr old girl?

kris

I want my first tattoo to be some where that can easily be hidden as I want to be a teacher when I get out of college. I don't have any ideas on what to get either. It doesn't have to be something meaningful, just something small and pretty. Any ideas on what and where? Please don't lecture me on how online strangers shouldn't be helping me with this. Thank!

i need tattoo ideas????

Braelynn

i am getting a tattoo pretty soon but i'm kind of at a loss for what to get. i was going to get a dragonfly but my best friend just got one so i'm trying to think of something else. i would like something thats not done very often on girls. i like feminine things but i would also like either a tiger or dragon or something else like that. i would also like the word strength in the tattoo somewhere. please any ideas are appreciated and pics would be helpful. also where on my body to get it. it will be fairly large.

Answer
Sounds like you want a tattoo just for the sake of having a tattoo, which is always a recipe of a disaster. You should sit on your design for a couple of months to make sure that you truly want it- I know that when you've made up your mind to get a new tat or piercing, it can be absolute death to have to wait for it (dying for the want of my second tat!...Too poor right now, sadly) but when it comes down to it, what's a few months when all is considered. You're going to have it for the rest of your life, after all.

If you want a dragonfly, you should get a dragonfly. It doesn't matter if your friend has one, your tattoos reflect yourself. Yours doesn't have to look anything like hers, anyway.

If you're adamant that you're not getting it, however, take a look at these for inspiration:
http://www.fortunecity.com/rivendell/lair/880/tattoos/tattoos.htm
http://www.2tattoodesigns.com/tattoo/tiger-tattoos/

If all else fails, all tattoo shops will have books of flash designs which you can go and look through to pick out something you like. I personally wouldn't get something that I know some stranger somewhere has, but each to their own =]

i want the words beautiful strength and courage tattooed on me in Arabic?

Tori

I want to get the words beautiful, strength, and courage tattooed in Arabic and from what I have learned of the language I know that Google is not translating it correctly. If someone who has knowledge of the language could help me out. PLEASE

Answer
Well hi there! :3
If you want these words as in words that don't describe you but as in just words (I hope you're getting what i'm saying here) then...

Beauty = جÙا٠"jamal"
Strength = ÙÙØ© "qowa"
Courage = شجاعة "shajaa'a"

But if you want to say that you are beautiful and that you have strength and courage (as in describing yourself), then...

If you're a girl:
Beautiful = جÙÙÙØ© "jamila"
Strong = ÙÙÙØ© "qawiya"
Brave = شجاعة "shoojaa'a"

If you're a guy:
Beautiful = جÙÙÙ "jamil"
Strong = ÙÙÙ "qawi"
Brave = شجاع "shoojaa' "

Or if not, just take the words meaning beautiful, strength and courage from the words above I gave you according to your gender. (And i'm guessing that you are a girl, so they would be...) جÙÙÙØ©, ÙÙØ©, شجاعة "jamila, qowa, shajaa'a" Beautiful, strength, courage.

But be wary of the pronunciation difference between "brave" if said to a female and "courage." The words are written the same way "شجاعة" but they have different pronunciations. Brave said to a female is "شجاعة" "shoojaa'a" and courage is "شجاعة" "shajaa'a." So yeah again, be wary of the pronunciation difference!

whats your opinion of girls with tattoos?
for example one on lower and one on hip.

Answer
i have many tattoos. i started when i was 16 , and i am now 35. I work in an office , and i have tattoos that show, and some that dont, and i LOVE my tattoos , and i really dont care what other people think. I am also a mommy , and my girls LOVE when my hubby and i put the temorary tattoos on them. my tattoos dont make me who i am. i have a wonderful family, a good job, a nice home, the best of friends. all of my tattoos however are very feminine looking, but some are big. one on my leg goes from my ankle, to almost my knee, and goes some parts over my shin, and some pasrt around the back of my leg. and if i wear a skirt, it shows, and i dont care. you know what the difference is between people who are tattoed, and people wgo aren't ? people who are tattood dont care if you are.....

Tattoos on girls?

Christine

Ok this question is aimed at guys, but girls I would love to hear your comments too. So I love tattoos I have 4 and want so many more. I have a fairy on my hip, a decorative C on the back of my neck, huge fairy wings that take up my whole back and "bella" writen on my wrist. I also want one right below my cleavage, my upper thigh, and behind my ear. So people, my question is, do you think that girls with a lot of tattoos are unattractive?

Answer
I know your question is not aimed at me; however, I have to say GO GIRL.

You know that you love tattoos; get as many as you are comfortable and happy with. Guys that think they're unattractive may or may not be turned off by the ones you already have. Make yourself happy, and some guy who loves tattoos will love you for being yourself.

First tattoo, need some opinions on my idea, please?

Brandy

I want the zodiac signs (girl)Gemini & (boy)Sagittarius on my upper right back. It represents me and my boyfriend. Our Anniversary is april 20, so that's when I'm getting it. I want them blended together some how, got any ideas? can someone draw me up something cool?? refer me to a friend??

By the way, does it hurt to get your first tattoo on your back in that spot and so big?? I got high tolerance to pain, so I'm not that nervous :)

My boyfriend got his first tattoo on his chest a few weeks ago it was a small one and he said it kinda hurt but he didn't cry.

I am going to the tattoo shop on April 20th, and I'm sure the guy will draw up something, but I want someone to give me some insight on the look before hand.

Thank you!!! :) Have a great Sunday!

my e-mail is randbrandy@yahoo.com

Answer
You will definitely need to visit the shop before April 20th if you're not going to use flash art, to give the artist time to draw you a design in time for April 20th.

I would counsel caution; getting a tattoo like this should only be done once you're absolutely certain you'll be together for the rest of your lives, otherwise you will have a giant symbol of that lost relationship emblazoned across your back.

If you are sure you'll be together and that's what you want, then I'd say go for it! It sounds like you've thought about what you want.

Yes, it will hurt, especially over the spine. Any tattoo hurts, but on your back, the closer to the spinal column it is, the more it hurts, and in general, the closer to the surface the bone is in a particular area, the more it hurts. Feet are one of the most painful places to get tattoos because of how close the bones are to the surface of the skin, for example.

Fancy dress help for a tomboy?

Caitlin

My grandparents gave myself and my boyfriend gift certificates to a fancy restaraunt. I really don't own any dress clothes. I'm good at matching things, and picking out outfits for other people, but I have no sense of what looks good on me.
My avatar is accurate as far as my hair and skin color. I have green eyes, and I'm 5'6", 120 lbs, mostly muscle. Yes, I'm muscular for a girl, and have a pronounced collar bone. I'm not exactly bean pole, I have wide hips and larger breasts than most muscular girls. Color suggestions? Shape? What kind of sleeves? (I do have tattoos, one on my arm, one on my upper back)
I just want to look good for my man and I don't really have anyone I can ask.
I am sort of "medium punk" I guess lol. And I am on a budget, like somewhere between Nordstrom Rack and JC Penny.

Answer
May I ask one question first?
What would you define your regular style as? Excuse my lack for better descriptions but would you say gothic, prep, bright, punk etc...

Without knowing that though I can still recommend some colors for your skin tone and hair
Dark purple, dark green or dark brown would look lovely on you. Black of course would also be stunning.

Agh, don't shoot me but another question, how much are you willing to spend?

Thank you ^_^ Most people won't answer for more details, but it really helps when they do.

Did people have tongue piercings in the 1940s? How common were they?

Madison

Simply put, I'd like to know if tongue piercing was done in the 1940s, and just how common it was. Was it more common in men or women? How were people with tongue piercings viewed in that time period, and is there a website where I can find this information?
I'm talking about people in Western society, by the way. Britain, the United States, Australia, etc. I realise that tongue piercing has been practiced by the Aztecs and several other cultures long before the 1900s.

Answer
No. In the 1920's30's there was a craze/fad of burning pictues/patterns on one's skin with heat/tanning lamps, and tattoos have always been around...but even tattoos have only recently in modern advanced societies become widely acceptable. For most of the 20th century in the USA, for example, tattoos were confined to the shadows ie. macho sailor/soldier type tattoos and subcultures - mostly prison-related... Only in very recent decades have tattoos have become widely acceptable. Piercings also have to be considered in the light of modern day antibiotics. I'd hate to risk a life threatening infection for the sake of a decorative piercing ...

I remember decades ago conducting clinical interviews, and if I encountered tattoos, it was usually an indication/sign of an antisocial personality...but now it's something common to soccer moms...
Personally, I have never gotten a tattoo, because - although I like them and wouldn't mind a beautiful illustration of pop art on my back - I am also sensative to how such things are viewed by various cultures. I'd hate to visit a foreign land and suddenly be seen as a criminal deviant on the basis of a tattoo. The same applies to piercings... I hate the idea of catching/snagging a bull-nosed piercing on a string or fishing line and being dragged off into sme h4llish oblivion. Scratch one's nails across the proverbial blackboard; it gives me the same shivering discomfort of mind as does some terrible body piercing.

Body piercing and tattooing is very old and goes off into the depths of prehistory... They were used as art, identification of tribal/clan affiliations, religion... and I do not wish to glorify these practices, because they were not always harmless practices... I found a finger joint bone under a rock overhang here where I live in Alabama; it was about 2000 years old. The finger joint bone was deliberatly sliced off by a native... Some Plains Natives in North America did the same thing...to the point that it was said some natives could barely draw a bow string because they had sliced off so many finger joints. Why? Well, 2000 years ago it was likely a mark of bravery ie. if you met me and I was missing a few finger joints, it showed that I was a tough warrior and hunter - an experiened 'cool' fellow. It might also have originated as a kind of religious sacrifice to beome a better hunter...in times of food scarcity...

Vikings carved their teeth and painted/inlaid the enamel and practiced body art. Skull warping among various tribes all over the world has been practiced to artificially slope the foreheads to show 'nobility' has been practiced. Thank God, I don't see it now in modern times... Necks have been articially extended/manipulated. The Chinese practice of crippling womens feet was once common. Male circumcision remains the most common and unnecessary form of body mutilation.

The more things change, the more they remain the same. I prefer all my fingers, no piercings, and a clean body slate. It;s a hard world to get through without being scathed...

No tattoos are cute. None. They are all ugly and hideous. Tattoos are little better than cartoons at best.

You asked: "okay so i want to get my thigh are armed sleeved know of any cute ones?"?? Wow, I could barely understand that part of your question. You should pay more attention in English class, OK? Writing well is a skill that you can benefit from all your life.

But, I think..... you want to get a tattoo on your thigh??? OMG I hope you do not! If you make that big mistake and you get one, you will experience a lot of pain and you will bleed. You will not be in a hospital or operating room, and there is a chance you will catch some vile blood-born disease like hepatitis or flesh eating bacteria. Your wound may become infected. The so-called "tattoo artist" may make a mistake and you will be stuck with the results. I strongly recommend you reconsider getting tattooed. Your body is clean now, and not profaned by any graffiti, but that will change forever if you pay some tattoo predator to ruin your body. Just don't do it is my advice to you! You have lasted this long without tattoo, do not cave to the pressure from lesser people or a sick society and take that fatal step. Everything will change for you, for the worse, after you get that first tattoo.. Let me tell you why I am so anti-tattoo and so anxious that you not take this ugly step. The true cost of a tattoo is a lifetime of regret. There is an 80% chance you will regret it in your lifetime. Many people will look at you with disgust, for tattoos are offensive to many, many people. Your chances of getting a good job will be greatly diminishedâmost companies will not hire you since your tattoo will be seen as offensive to other workers. There is nothing good about a tattoo. A tattoo is little better than a cartoonâyou canât get a good quality drawing on the human skin. Tattoos are an urban blight. They are ugly, like graffiti. Like graffiti, they lower the quality of the environment. Tattoos lower the quality of life, for everyone who has to see their ugliness. I donât like the whole concept of tattooing, the way these hideous cartoons are inked into the flesh of people through bloodletting and pain; to me they are a dark and evil art. Tattoos are closely linked to other forms of self harm, like cutting, piercing, drug use, etc.; they are hand-in-glove with these destructive behaviors. I donât like the way evil people encourage our vulnerable children to get tattooed, so they can make money off of them. They do not care that they are causing harm. And yet, these evil ones, these tattoo predators, are even admired by their deceived victims. Young people are fooled into wanting tattoos by degenerate Hollywood and the media. Kids think tattoos are cool and cutting edge, but over time, they wind up hating their tattoos. Far worse, they wind up hating themselves. Parents and older people are so afraid of being disliked that they say nothing against tattoos, even though they know better. Worse, some completely abandon their responsibility to provide sound guidance and even encourage the young ones to get tattooed. As far as tattoos being âartâ, that is garbage. A tattoo is NOT "a work of art". The human body is not a canvas and the abusers and mutilators who desecrate it are not artists. Most of their so called "art" is little better than comic book drawings. . More and more young people are buying into this Hollywood lie that tattoos are a cutting edge way to âexpressâ yourself. But that is so not true. You should express yourself with your words and actions, not by inking graffiti onto your living flesh. I have no tattoos. I hate tattoos and those who inflict them upon our young people. Do not listen to the many predators and enablers here, who encourage young people to abandon decency and live self indulgent and destructive lives. Young peopleâdo not get tattooed. Stay in school, do your best there, avoid drinking, drugs, tattoos and piercings, and avoid those who have them. Go to college, study science, mathematics, or business, and avoid liberal arts (unless you are wealthy and donât need to make a living). God bless you in your life.
