Hey, depends on your size and how genetically predisposed towards sagging you are, but it's extremely likely to end up looking stretched out, and aside from that it's also an extraordinarily ugly place for a woman to get a tattoo - it's also a place very difficult to cover up convincingly should the need arise, unless you want to spend your professional life in high necked tops. Honestly, I'm not saying this to p*** you off but unless you're a seriously hard core tattoo chick, please think again - to the non-hard core tattoo population tattooed breasts (or just above them) really, really looks appalling... stretched out or not.

i think some chest tattoos look pretty on some women. Depending on what it is and the design. I have a beautiful tattoo that symbolizes my native american side as well as my children on my chest, and it is too late for regrets. I get looks from people that like it and some that just get intimidated. Never the less, people will always pass judgment on others when it isn't their place to do so. That is why it is called Art!

I am 5'6'' with a muscular build. I wouldn't be getting this until maybe next year because I go to Marines basic training on Nov. So I have some time to think about it. I would get them so they match my bodies "V" shape, but I still wonder to go with this type of look or with actual feathers. I want them big because that's just what I've always wanted to do. What do you all think? Would it even be a good idea? I don't want them small because they look too "feminine". Any ideas? opinions? Is the tribal look too played out?

I am a woman and a tattoo artist. I wings are awesome tattoos! my suggestion would be not to go tribal, but to go with feathers or something more custom that the tribal. Your artist can help you draw it up. I generally say avoid tribals becuase they are less unique, that is just a personal opinion. yesterday I tattooed some sick yellow wings on a guys back and they look amazing! Its all about how you do it, the feathers can be feminine but they can be made masculine. you can make wings out of a number of things, bullets instead of feathers is also something i have done. Have your artist help you customize them!

I am thinking about having a tattoo of a woman, a child a horse, a wolf and a eagle. I would like to put together as a story line. I am recovering from depression and a child, which I want a child but never happened and I am just divorce this year, (in my dream more of a little girl dressing in a dress). For strange reason I want to have a horse, wolf and an eagle on it as well. What kind of would be good to put together?

It is something like a story line of what I kind going through. if you have any suggestion, please feel free to put on there.. I am also gonna going to leave it up to the tattooist as well but any good suggestion or adivce would help...

This is a very neat idea you have.

You could always have a child holding the horse in a field.
with the eagle above.
A woman in the background with her arms out.
and a wolf sort of down in the grass.
Something along thoes lines i think would be cute.
Really try to mix all of the elemnts well.
Don't just throw them together, i think it would turn out better.
just mix the child and the horse or the child horse and the woman and everything else should fall into place.

You could have the same field thing and have horses running, and a woman holding a child.
with the eagle again in the sky and the wolf again in the tall back grass.

Tattoos representing my miscarriages?

I am not sure if I should put this in this section, but I was just wondering if any of you have any tattoos representing a miscarriage, or even your child. I am currently going through my second miscarriage and I thought it might be helpful for me to get two doves or something on my back pointing upwards towards heaven to represent each baby I have lost. It will be something I can show my children one day when I am blessed with children. I know a lot of you may be opposed to this idea, but I am only asking the women who have done something like this. I have 4 other tattoos already so it's not like tattoos are a new thing to me and I'm not trying to be "cool". Thank you in advance for answering :D

i'm not one who's a fan of tattoos unless there's a meaning behind them. and getting tattoos of doves or whatever to represent your miscarriages is a creative way of showing what has happened in your life and part of you. i think that's a really touching thing to do, especially to show your future children :]

Have you tried going to a tat site that specializes in flash art? You can get really good ideas from those. Print out different images of things you like and get the tattoo artist to draw something up incorporating those.

Im sick of the played out tattoos as well but since I don't know what is meaningful for you I can't really give any great suggustions other than no butterflies, no nautrical stars, no lotus flowers.

Hi Everyone, I'm an Aquarius female (feb9) and I've been reading through all the posts about Virgos for weeks now and thought I'd join in and ask a few questions. I met a Virgo male about seven months ago (the first one in my life) and am finding it very difficult to get emotionally close to him, when I really want to. I feel as though I'm under a microscope in his presence and anything I say can, and has been used against me. He was the one to pursue me in the beginning and due to my fears of getting too clingy to a relationship, I gave him the impression I wasn't that interested in his presence.. For the first three months we were together all the time. He couldn't let me out of sight for hours, he would call & text me all day and would sleep over my house every night (mostly to cuddle). Then he went on a business trip & I went home.. we didn't see each other for a month so contact became strained. He did mention that he was scared of getting too distracted from work around me.. and now he has this habit of wanting to see me then distancing himself for a month or so, then will pop up like nothing happened and wants to see me again. I don't understand this and find it confusing..I've tried to make contact and ask him straight out what he wants, but he will laugh it off and tell me that "he fucks with me" and that "we are still cool." I told him to his face last month I really like him, He called me for a couple days then became distant again. Dont get Why he comes back?? :(

Tattoo After Care Regime?

I would like to hear some different Tattoo Care methods that people use. I have used many, but really want to hear the best ones. Each artist has a different plan. Are there different products that heal certian areas of the body better?

I have quite a few tattoos-- everywhere from my feet to forearms.


I use noxzema to wash them (pump bottle is better so it doesnt get bacteria into the tub from your hands or anything) instead of regular soap. It cools the hot feeling on your skin that lasts a few days, and very gently cleans. It is designed for the face, so it is not harsh on the skin like a lot of other cleansers, but still gives you a gentle deep clean. I didn't pull this out of my @$$. I learned this from an incredible tattoo artist, a woman who has been tattooing over 30 years. That is her tried and true secret to easy healing, and it REALLY makes a phenomenal difference.

I wash my tattoos somewhat excessively during their healing, and with 2-3 days, I am already peeling. When applying an ointment (some advise against bactracin or A&D, and others will swear by one or the other) i use MINUTE amounts of bacitracin, because of a boss of mine-- he is a tattoo artist also tattooing over 30 years, and his tattoos are in crazy good shape still. Anyway, I will use a tiny bit of ointment after I wash the tattoo-- just barely enough to make it covered very very thinly or else you may lose some quality in the color because it is healed out. As SOON as I start peeling I switch to a very neutral lotion, no scents, no fragrances, and I never use Lubriderm. I keep the tattoo very clean still and apply the lotion even AFTER it has healed.

This method has worked fantastically for me since I started getting tattooed (about 6 ago). I have worked in 2 tattoo shops and learned a lot from coworkers/artists, and also from the incredible people who have tattooed me. Using this method, 5 days after the tattoo was inked, I am completely finished peeling. Some people take up to 2 weeks.

I find that every part of my body loves this procedure :) Some areas will need extra care-- for instance, when I tattooed the whole top/sides of my foot, it was summer so I could wear flip flops during healing-- but I had to wash it SO SO constantly because it would get dirty. I ended up using tattoo goo's antimicrobial soap about once a day to make sure I killed ANY kind of bacteria that got into it.

I understand they are a way to express yourself and I can dig that, but so is talking, t-shirts, music, cars and other things that aren't so permanent. Frat/sorority letters, military or other group insignias that are part of life changing experiences I can understand. The tribal Aztec armband? I don't get it. It isn't original anymore and it doesn't say anything about you. The hiragana and katakana symbols? Come on! 90% of the people who get them don't even know for sure what it means.

On top of that, they used to be taboo. Now 95% of the girls in college have a tramp stamp (pardon the expression) of a butterfly/dolphin/fairy/moon. They have lost the rarity that made them special.

If you get one, think long and hard about it and make sure it represents something that is very personal and long lasting. One last thing (if you got this far), I would stay away from the forearms and stick the tattoo somewhere that can be covered up by a shirt. In case you want to get a job where that is not considered acceptable.

I have a beautiful tattoo that symbolizes my native american side as well as my children on my chest, and it is too late for regrets. I get looks from people that like it and some that just get intimidated. Never the less, people will always pass judgment on others when it isn't their place to do so. That is why it is called Art!

Tattoo chinese symbol to link with friendship..... please read!!?

I was best friends with a girl for 10-12 years and for her birthday we both got the chinese symbol of friendship on our left wrists. A few years later our friendship faded sadly. I do not regret getting the tattoo at all because she was a big part of my life but i want to get another tattoo on my right wrist that not exactly contradicts the other one but has meaning to the left also. I dont want anything like hate but if anyone can help it would be greatly appreciated. I was initially thinking of 'karma' or 'broken' but i do not think it is what i am looking for.

I like most of those books (besides Wicked), and I liked the Girl with the Dragon Tattoo. It is a Swedish book (the Swedish title is "Men Who Hate Women" so that kind of tells you that a reoccuring theme is violence against women). Certain terms and expressions are different (ex/ gaol = jail). The first few chapters of courtroom drama and business are sort of boring, but it gets good after that, when Blomkvist goes to the island. Lisbeth is a great character. Give it a chance!

I haven't read The Hungry Ghosts.

Cherry Blossoms look very pretty and dainty around the ankle and onto the foot. Although, It is painful. Your first tattoo should be on another area to make sure you can handle the feeling. On the back shoulder blade is a good area, that can be easily hidden. But the foot has no muscle or meat so its very painful. Hope this helps good luck to you. There addictive, so be careful...lol

On your upper back would be cute, or on your ankle, or foot? (im not skinny either, i have one on my ankle, and on my foot). You are still going to have these tattoos when you are a very old person. Instead of Skyrim and WoW, why not just some imagery that reminds you why you used to love these games as a kid? So, go deeper. What is it you like about the game. How does it make you feel? Tattoo an image of that emotion, not an image of the game, that you might outgrow 5 years from now.

If I had gotten tattoos when I was a teen, I would have cartoon characters on my body, and I'm now a 53-year-old woman. I'm much happier with my yin yangs than I would be with Fozzie Bear.

I've been seeing a pattern forming with women recently.... A lot of game playing and stupid desisions being made on their parts... Don't get me wrong here. I love women, and was raised by one. I love my mother very much and it was her that taught me to respect women and appeiciate them. I'm 30 years old, never been married, no kids, no criminal record. Out there trying to meet the one. I've come to the conclusion that a lot of these women are only interested in what seems to be this alpha male, douche bag, jersey shore type dude now with the MMA and Ed hardy shirts, more tattoos than they have skin bullshit. I keep hearing this term called the friend zone.... But yet everywhere I turn I see tons of single mothers, young as hell, even ones my age... With their new child, walking around with no man... Complaining that that the baby's dad is a piece of shit and asking "where are all the good guys?" I know where they are... I'm one of them. See this is the issue: you women don't screen these men long enough before you become intimate. Example: I went out with a girl on a first date, date went great, she enjoyed it, I enjoyed it, at least she seemed like she did...a week later I asked her out again. She replied "no I didn't feel the connection. But we could go to a football game together if we get our friends together if you want?"......we're friends on Facebook by the way...I happen to come across a post of hers 3 months later and she says she's pregnant.... Her boyfriend... The jersey shore type. So I spent 60 dollars on dinner and drinks...just so you can tell me there's no connection... And low and behold there you are pregnant with some dude you think you know? Sounds like a game to me. I need help on this issue. Men and women need to answer this. Who plays games more? MEN or WOMEN and...when women say: "all girls are different" what are they really saying? Cause this is no lie... The past 14 women I've been with or dated said this!! HELP!!!!

Well I like your rant first of all, it actually makes sense and it seems like you put a lot of thought into it. You are right many women play games with us "Good Guys". I know I dated my fair share of women "players" before I met my wife. But here is the difference between the girls I was dating and the Girl I met and married. I met my dates at bars, football games, clubs, parties ect. These women are "players" or a good chunk of them are and the men that go to these places are too. The Girl I married I met while doing volunteer work with americorps. We were both helping impoverished people all over America. Myself and both of my best friends met our wives while doing some sort of volunteer work... I think that both Men and Women have their fair share of "players". But you will find the one someday I am sure! Good Luck

Permanent tattoos are haram for both men and women, but temporary tattoos are pretty much like henna and come under the same ruling. But it can't be animate beings, the question is whether a dragon would be considered an animate being as they are not real. Maybe if you want the dragon you can get it but with a blank face, or make it cartoonish. I am no scholar though so maybe it's best you ask one inshaAllah.

Rib cage tattoo pain...?

When I turn 18 (I'm 16 now) I'm really hoping to get a poem tattooed on my rib cage beside my left breast. The poem I'm hoping to get is "A locked door, a rusty razor, a towel stained with red. A folded note, a broken mirror, and young girl lays there dead. Their emotions tangle, the room begins to swirl; she was Mommy's perfect angel and Daddy's little girl." I want this for a few reasons all of which are very important to me and I was wondering if anyone has experience with rib cage tattoos and can give me a little insight on how painful it could be to get something like this done? I love that poem.

I have a tattoo that goes all the way across my rib cage (left side) and then one that goes almost all the way down my ribcage on my right side.

When I was getting the one on the left I was squeezing my arm so hard that I gave myself a bruise. I never teared up tho! It was really painful, and one of my tattoo artists told me that if i was some idea of how bad the tattoo would hurt in a certain area, you should pinch yourself as hard as you can in that spot, and it should give you some idea of the pain to come.

But overall i think you should definitely stick with getting that tattoo, even though it will hurt like none other, it will be worth it at the end!

I really love the idea of a rib cage tattoo but the only girl I know who has one 1) has it going down her crotch and 2) has a clit ring.

Addictive, aren't they? Just don't fall in to the trap of repeatedly getting tiny little pieces done because you want something/anything. Think carefully about your choices and if you think you'll end up with large areas covered try to plan ahead and consider how you'll extend what you're getting.

I love tattoos on girls, my wife has one sleeve done and is working on the other.

I'm pleased you've seen past that 'they'll look terrible when you get old' nonsense, yeah, 'cause all those guys who didn't have fun and do what they wanted when they were kids will look damn awesome when they turn 80, won't they? I'd rather be old with wrinkled tattoos and grandkids who think I used to be a pirate than old and wrinkled. Interestingly the people who stop me and my wife most to comment on our tattoos are elderly people and kids, and it's only ever to say they like them.

My cousin wants to get a tattoo on her forearm. the purpose of the tattoo is to cover the scars on her arm due to self harm when she was a child. Yeah, I agree with lolcakes, if you don't want a tombstone or a portrait or anything like that, you could also get a tattoo of an inside joke you guys might've had, like a made up word or phrase you guys always said to each other, or get a tattoo of something that reminds you of him. I saw this one tattoo show, I forgot which one, but this woman got a tattoo of a jack and coke in memory of her dead relative because that's what he ALWAYS got when he drank. Another idea would be to get something that represents death or friendship, etc with some kind of symbol like an animal that you associate with it for example. Good luck, I know it's hard to find the perfect tattoo, especially when it represents something this important.

How about this tattoo idea kids?

Q. I want to get "All the World's a Stage" tattoo. Probebly the words written in old school cursive either on my lower back or front. I want it because it's my favorite song from Chiodos and I want it like Craig Owens becasue he;s my favorite artist. His music has helped me get through the HARDEST time in my life and I wanna honor that.
So should I get the words or like a picture?

Just wanted you to know, "All the world's a stage" is a quote from Shakespeare's "Hamlet", specifically, Hamlet's Soliloquy. He's the one that actually wrote it.

If the saying means that much to you, then get it. Just make sure it is something that is not likely to change over time, as far as how much you like it.

A belly tattoo will get stretched out of shape from if you ever experience pregnancy. Although a belly tattoo sounds sexy when you're still young and skinny, a tattoo on the belly can sometimes end up looking downright awful later on. So if you want one there, keep this in consideration and decide whether you can live with that risk or not.

Back tattoos are easy to hide. I got my first tattoo on my back between my shoulder blades, it is just a simple black outline of a kitty cat, about the size of a small piece of fruit, like a lime or an apricot. Sometimes it shows if I wear a top that is lower in the back, like a cami, but it actually looks good that way because my tatt is simple and not really "flashy". Another benefit of getting it on your back is that if you keep having doubts about your tattoo after getting it, well then it's not "in your face" all the time cuz looking at your back is not something you do all that often, really. I have several on my back that have been there for years, and even today sometimes I'll be drying myself off from a shower and I'll catch a glimpse of them in the mirror and think "Oh yeah, that's right. I have tattoos there".

Spend a LONG time thinking about it before you make a committment (6 months to a year is not too long. Even more is better, really).

i have a scar a inch above my belly button thats is 7 inches and goes across my stomach. Im turning 18 in two months and im planning on covering it up with a tattoo. I really dont have any ideas yet. I dont like anything emo looking. Im a really girly girly i like flowers but not too much flowers. thanks.

tattoo on belly? I don't think thats the best idea. just think what that would look like if you have kids and/or gain a lot of weight. I would say to get something to help to reduce the appearence of the scar and get a tattoo somewhere else!
