I want to get a tattoo on the right side of my ribs right under my bra line, and i want it to say " not all who wander are lost" but im scared its going to look "trashy" What do you think?

I've heard a lot of stories saying it hurts really badly. But if it's just a quote, and nothing huge that will require shading, will it still hurt a lot?

Also, will I have to take my shirt completely off for this?

You need to stay very still for it, i have seen some very screwed up rib tattoos from people being in pain and uncomfortable who moved too much. ALSO, outlines are typically the most painful part of a tattoo, the fill and colour is the easy part. So getting words may not take as long as something super detailed or something huge, but it is all outline.

if you're a girl, the worry with rib tattoos is taking your shirt off. Tattoo artists are used to seeing lots of skin, and they are professionals. It is like going to the doctors, nothing they havent seen hundreds of times. That being said, you want to be comfortable!! covering breast, stomach, whatever you dont like to show is important for your comfort. Ask you artist what he prefers you wear or what you can use to cover yourself. He may recommend taping something over yourself.that's probably what I myself would end up doing because you cant wear a bra because of the strap.

I never thought I'd get a tattoo but I'm planning to get one. 2 options:
1/ A small one on my hips.
2/ A bigger one along one side of my ribs, a little under my boobs.

I generally think big tattoos and obvious ones that on visible places like arms and hands or legs are trashy. But what about small ones or ones that goes along the ribs that no one can see unless I'm in bikini?

Im 16 and getting my first tattoo tomorrow on my ribs?

Ok so i am 16 years old, 180 pounds and about 6'1 and i am getting a cross on my side/ribs tomorrow. It gonna be about 8-9 inches tall and about 5-6 inches wide. It all black and white with no other colors and there is shading and the cross is kinda somewhat a cross with tribal in it. I was wandering on a scale of 1-10. How bad its gonna hurt and if its gonna stretch at all. I think im done growing and i almost have a 6 pack. So im not fat. And also how long do you think it will take? And im paying $200 for it, is that a decent price for professional work and if any girls are reading this, do you think the tattoo in going to get is going to be attractive? Just curious.
