I plan to get a portrait of my mother on my forearm, but i don't know if it would look trashy or not.

Me personaly i think it would. Doesnt matter who the person is or how they look i think thats all you can look at when its on the lower arm.
I think it also depends on if you will be getting it coloured or not but with it being a portrait it will mainly be in black shaded.
