i want to get one behind my ear, but i just want to know how much it hurts...
im thinking about getting stars behind my ear... they'll start big and get smaller as they get closer to the top of my ear... probably only like three our four... what do u think?

i know two ppl with tattoos behind both their ears. they both said it was nothing painful, but the tattoo gun was just very loud.
the first girl has a tattoo of lips behind one ear and a martini drink on the other side. it symbolizes her clothing line called martini kisses designs. its actually real small and cute.
the second girl has a tattoo of the treble cleft symbol behind one ear and the bass cleft on the other side. she is a musician.

I'm getting a tattoo when I turn 18 in December. I've always wanted and decided to get a tattoo behind my ear. I think it's a good place, it's cute and easy to hide. But I can't decide what to get or what will look good there.
I really want a pawprint, but I think it might look weird behind my ear...what do you think?
I've also thought of a four leaf clover, a flower or somekind, a seahorse (I've always loved seahorses) or just something cliche like a star or heart.
I'm also wondering about getting something on my wrist, but that's harder to hide, and I might want to wait until I figure out my career and stuff.
Any ideas or opinions?
I also love tree branch, floral, pretty tattoos like that, any ideas on how to incorporate that into a smaller tattoo behind my ear?

I'd personally get something individual. Some many girls have the same tattoo (barb wire like Pam Anderson or star tatts). Why not be different and choose something that applies to just you. It's much more special. Designing something yourself is a lot of fun and tattoo artists love it when people bring in their own design.

As for the flower tattoo idea, what is the nation floral emblem of your state? Countries, states etc usually have a national symbol.
While tattoos on the wrist can be hard to hide, that what bracelets, cuffs and watches are for :) Though, many tattooists won't do them on the inner wrist as it's over the veins. The tattoo needle only goes a few millimetres into the skin, but if you are a person with noticeable or high veins, I'd choose somewhere else.
Also, thick foundations, especially movie makeups, can cover tattoos.
I added a link to a gallery of sea horse tatts. If it were me, I'd actually use the entire length behind the ear. Starting from the top, and have the sea horse drawn down to just behind the lobe. Yur hair should cover this and if you wear your hair up, just leave a little behind your ear. Besides, unless someone is standing behind you, no-one will see it. Have fun :)
