What's the deal w/ people getting sparrow tattoos all the sudden?

Q. I've seen a ton of these lately. Is it b/c of pirates of the Caribbean?

Sparrow design has been around for years... an old Sailor Jerry design. Alot of Navy crew men and even women will get these to display them having been stuck on a damned boat for half a year. It is a symbol of hope as when old sailor would see them thye knew they where close to land... this being before GPS and what such.

However there have been several more people that have none of these reasons listed above to get other than hope. It has more do to mass media and trend apeal lately but the design has been around several years.

Clothing brands... help?

I'm looking for clothing brands such as Famous, Ed Hardy.. etc.
only I'm looking for a less mainstream brand.
something that not everyone has in their closets already.
