i bought my holland lop from this girl on craigslist a few weeks ago. i wanted to have an opportunity to show my Beautiful holland lop and see how it goes for us with the judges, but i don't know if you need a pedigree to enter. when we went to get him she didn't say if he had a pedigree so i don't know where he came from. am i still able to show him?

You do not need a pedigree to show a rabbit in the US. As others have said, it must have a tattooed permanent ear mark in its left ear. It can be any combination of letters and/or numbers that you choose. It must be done before judging starts, any excess ink removed and the mark clear and legible. If he is not marked, you can probably have somebody at the show mark him for you.
He must weigh at least 2 pounds and no more than 4 pounds and be a recognized color. He must also be free of any disqualifications.

Now for the caution. If you didn't specifically buy a show rabbit, you probably don't have one. Pets are usually sold as pets because they are not show prospects. They can be cute and sweet rabbits but not show material. Hollands are among the most competitive breeds out there. I often judge classes of 25 or 30 senior solid bucks and have very nice animals going off 10th or sometimes even lower and placing in the points (in the top 5) is really tough in a big show. Broken classes are usually smaller but still very competitive.

Me and my best friend were planning on getting matching tattoos. We want it to represent that no matter how far apart we are(because I moved away 10 years ago and we wrote letters all the time until we got phones) and no matter how much we don't talk(busy with school and work and I can't get down there a lot) that we will always be friends and we will always be there for each other. it can be a quote or just an idea of what it could be. thanks (:

I have a really cute idea for u..! i think you each should get a cute little penguin tattoo on you inner wrist, back of neck, or wherever u choose. Penguins only have ONE lifelong partner(companion) for their entire lives.. They leave for months or years and always come back to their same partner no matter what. Now i know your thinking ok.. welll thats like for boy and girl.. beacuse they have one "soulmate",.. BUT.. U each can get a cute little bow on top of their heads :).. so it still has the meaning one lifetime "friend" companion FOREVER. design the little penguin however u want.. and when ppl ask about it, which they will, then its an awesome story to explain!. & the little bows are cute:). true story.. look it up!
