As I get older, I realized how much she taught me and how much I loved her. I would like her name, "Hazel" but I work in a very conservative seting and would not be able to have it visible. Does anyone have any suggestions for a design or the best place to put it? Thank you.

Answer
Aww, that's sweet. :)

You can put it anywhere your work clothes will cover. That usually means torso and legs (unless you wear pencil skirts to work).

Maybe on your upper back, between shoulder and spine. Just above your "angel wing." Lots of women get ink there.

As for design, think of something that will respresent her. Did she have a favorite flower? Did she like music? Reading? Was there a private joke you shared that could be symbolized somehow? Think about incorporating that with her name in the design. Also, ask your tattoo designer for ideas - that's their job. ;)

How much do you think this tattoo would cost?

I want this:

on my back. Pretty much covering my whole back.

Not getting it soon or anything, I don't have that kind of money ('cos I /know/ it's gonna be expensive), but I'm just curious.

I am getting a little ankh soon, dunno where I'mma put it though, any suggestions? :)

Answer
First off, large tattoos on woman are NOT trashy! But large mouths on men that don't understand art is VERY trashy! :)

When a piece is that large the artist will usually set you on a pay per sitting schedule. Starting with the out line, and your major detailing then going in with your minor detail, followed by 2-3 sets for gray scale shading. At our shop, Our head artist charges 300 per set or 150 per hour. cording on how much you can take at a time. If you want it done right don't just go for the cheaper artist, Good tattoos aren't cheap and cheap tattoos aren't good! I would price you at around 900-1300. But every artist is different and tends to charge less for things they enjoy doing. So if you have an artist that likes to do large gray scales you would get off cheaper. :) hope that helped!
