followers of Christ...Tattoos?

Leviticus 19:28
" Do not cut your bodies for the dead or put tattoo marks on yourselves. I am the LORD."
I am interested in a personal tattoo, but I want to be absolutely sure that it does not go against God's will. I turned to the book of answers and found the verse above... What does it mean to me? It seems clear that the Lord is talking about "cutting and tattooing" FOR the dead.. maybe as a sacrifce? no where else does it specify in general ANY tatoo. Ofcourse as a christian woman i do not plan to get one that degrates me or tthat is corruptive but i simply want small musical notes, and a one of my favorite verse incorporated with the design...
please any advise, it will be greatly appreciated...
I put God first and want to hear other facts from followers of christ... maybe you know what i do not. Before I make a final decision.
Thank you in advance.

Answer
My tattoo is actually an interpretation of a bible verse. It is Matthew 3.16 , when Jesus is baptized . A dove comes down from the heavens and lands on him. In some Bibles, it goes on to say the dove remained there forever. For that reason, I have an image of a dove, taken from a very traditional Irish cross that my grandmother willed to me, tattooed on myself.

what nice tattoo could i get to symbolise freedom?

im a woman and im looking for a tattoo that symbolises freedom - kinda like "love each day" kind of freedom. i dont want a bird or anything like that cause i think that looks better on men, let me know of your ideas...

Answer
A dove.

A dove symbolizes love and freedom, and looks much better on a woman than a man.
If you don't want that, try these ideas:
- A broken padlock
- Foot prints
- Eagle
- Wings
- Broken shackles

Good luck honey!

Dove tattoo... quote?

wakeyourdr

I'm already 18, I've been wanting a tattoo since I was maybe 15 but never knew what I wanted up until last year. To say the least a woman very dear to me, basically like my second mother, passed away and I want a dove tattoo in remembrance of her and my deceased grandfather. I want the dove on my inner forearm, detailed, with his wings spread. I just can't decide on a small quote and exactly where to put it with the dove, I want to commemorate who they were, loving people always happy never lost faith or hope even in the toughest situations and no matter what they were going through all they cared about was making the people around them happy. Can anybody help? I'd appreciate it.

Answer
Personally, I think it would be lovely without the quote. Simple and elegant.

are tattoos on girls trashy?

Kiari

my parents are really strict, and they don't allow me to date guys with tattoo's or piercings (which doesn't bother me that much). i've never really been interested in them myself, but a lot of my friends and my role model celebs (Megan Fox) have them, and they are so cute! i want a heart with wings on my left wrist, a white dove on my right, and maybe wings on my back? i'm still debating.
do tattoo's on girls seem trashy?

Answer
not unless the girl is trashy. A tattoo doesn't define a woman... a woman defines her tattoos.
