I want a tatto, but every one says it's trashy??!!?

I want a tattoo. The one I picked was a music clef (or a treble clef to be more specific, ) with angel wings.
I want it on my lower back, but everyone is calling a "tramp stamp" and saying that it's inappropriate.
it's not like I'm getting it on my butt! Should I get a tattoo there or should I just get it somewhere else???

Treble clef with wings,,,I see it as the angel of music,,,,the heaven of sound,,,,whoever would think that it suggests that music is dead has rocks in their head. On your lower back,,,,,no,, upper back or back of your neck maybe would be more appropriate and it would be seen better by others without having to expose your lower back all the time. here in Australia lower back tattoos on girls are also referred to as kum targets so its a bad choice area.
Tattoos have achieved a resurgence in active appearance and have not had so many people getting them since they were used for convict identification in early times,. More people have tattoos now than ever before in the history of the art, and thats all over the world in every country. The notion that tattoos are out of fashion these days is stupid when they are the most sought after fashion statement in history.
Its your body but be concerned that over time it will change,, it will blur to some extent and it will sag later in your older years, but, most of us who have them by then dont care anymore. I also dont find tattoos on women to be all that attractive at least some of them but do it with taste and you will be fine. make your choice girl and whatever way you go you will be glad you did.

Tattoo in the Military.?

I was thinking about getting a tattoo on my wrist. Its 3 interlocking stars about 2x2 inches, but would the military make get it removed if I joined.I'm seriously thinking about joining the USAF, but don't want to either get rejected or have to have it laser removed. I've read that tattoos have to be hidden or otherwise could effect you job placement. I am worried that if I get it on the wrist, then it would be considered visible while shaking hands, etc. Can anyone shed some light on this subject for me.Please and Thank you.

Tattoos are now permitted on the hands and back of the neck if they are not âextremist, indecent, sexist or racist.â Army Regulation 670-1, which was modified via a message released Jan. 25, also now specifies: âAny tattoo or brand anywhere on the head or face is prohibited except for permanent make-up.â

For women, allowable make-up would be permanent eye-liner, eyebrows and makeup applied to fill in lips, officials said. They said permanent make-up should be conservative and complement the uniform and complexion in both style and color and will not be trendy.

My best friend has a barcode tattoo'd on the back of her neck and small angels behind her ears...I don't think a tattoo on the wrist catch you any hell...but that's in the Army...don't know about the Air Force....
