My 17th is coming up, on Thursday and I want to get my first tattoo. (Yes, I already have my mothers consent) I have an idea of what I want, my grandmother was a tattoo artist, and I've been looking through her books to find one I like. I don't want a tramp stamp, or anything trashy.
Here's the one I really want :

Some thing along the lines of that. But I'm not sure if I want it, from my ankle up, or my wrist up. Which would look better?
And on a scale of 1-10 how bad would it hurt?
And would it affect me getting/keeping a job?

If this is what you really want, then get it. But, be sure because SO MANY people have this tattoo already. I dont want to tell you what to do, but if your grandmother was a tattoo artist, then she would tell you to get something original and your own, not something popular with girls.
There, I'm done giving out advice in a motherly, tattoo artist type fashion, sorry. But that's what I think.
As for the pain level, ankle tattoos hurt. Close to the bone and all that. Wrist tattoos hurt as well, though...but you're more likely to encounter employment problems with the wrist and up. I don't know what line of work you're considering, but seeing as you're a teennager(kinda young to be making a life decision like this but nevermind)you'll probably be in the service industry, which requires that tattoos are covered.
