Question for all the people with tattoos.... ?

Don't you find it rather annoying when people go on and on about how "tattoos are permanent" and "they are going to fade and distort", and that they are "ugly to look at it/ it should be illegal"? I swear sometimes I want to crawl through the screen and slap them.

So my question to you is... Doesn't that bother you? Also, how many tattoos do you have and where? What age did you get your first one?

I was 17 when I got my first one. I have a flamingo/palm tree in my right ankle and a large cross w a trinity symbol/wings that covers the top part of my back (between my shoulder). :)

Well, no it doesn't bother me if the information is correct and true.
1) tattoos are permanent = true - meaning that much thought should go into the images and/or words, and that what you find appealing at 15, you probably will not want when you are 20 or 40 or 60 etc.
2) tattoos fade = true IF you do not take excellent care of them and use the highest SPF sunblock each and every time that you expose your tattoo to the elements, no matter what the weather, and all year round - and you should reapply often.
3) tattoos distort = true IF you get them when your body has not finished growing (under 18), and they distort if you get pregnant or gain a bunch of weight. Sometimes when you are young, your skin will pull back, but often belly tattoos on woman turn into a nightmare with age and pregnancies.
4) tattoos are 'ugly to look at and should be illegal' = false - this is totally opinion based and has no relevancy to anyone wanting a tattoo. It is no one's business what personal permanent decisions you make for your own reasons. Anyone pushing their fears through trying to stop someone from getting a tattoo, is out of line (unless it is a parent or guardian of an underage person). Otherwise, people should get off of their soapbox rants and live their own lives.

I have 5 tattoos, all custom, all personal and unique. I got my 1st tattoo on my 50th birthday.
I have no problems about my tattoos. No one gives me a hard time or treats me differently because of them. And mine are quite visible - one is a large wrist bracelet , and one is a large image on my forearm.

If you don't get defensive, and smile and honestly answer peoples questions, you will find that most people are just curious. Everyone knows someone with tattoos or has some themselves.

ive really thought over of everyhitng ide want and for some reason im not sure if its just TOO much or if in the end ill regret ever getting them so here goes my wish list
a tattoo going acrost my foot of some stars, some stars going down my side from like my sholder to hip, i already have 3 stars on my neck but i was thinking about getting more around those ones and i wanted to get that bar thing at the top of ur ear ... still deciding over the tounge piercing or the lipp but i dont know is this just a faze or should i go for it and get what i want ? help plz ?

I totally agree with Hasley Q. You're ideas are beyond awesome... are stars significant to you? I think that a female with all those star tats would be amazing, almost like a mythological being. Totally awesome.
Anyway I'd say go for it, so long as you wouldn't mind having those tattoos when you're older, or going through significant life events such as a wedding. Also you might want to wait on the hip/lower back stars until you are out of your childbearing age. I mention that because that area has a tendency to deform you tattoos when you're pregnant. Also 50% of the children born last year in the United States were not planned for. (There parents were not trying to concieve. I throuw in this statistic because many women who don't plan to have kids do.) Just something to think about.

Well I'm getting a pretty descent size tattoo on my shoulder blade on my back. It's alaska and inside the Big Dipper with 'North To The Future' above it and that is going to look like northern lights. Welll I'm a girl and it's going to be like under my bra strap. So should I wear like a strapless bra with a spaghetti string tank top? And what is the best way to keep the tattoo clean and taken care of

........attire and body "art" could be indicative of their sexual morality..but now days?...less than ever...I have met MANY church girls....who were wearing white frilly dresses...no tattoos...no piercings.......VERY proper......mom would love them........and they were "wild".......when given the opportunity.........we are all human........have some "kahunas".......tell your date how you feel about virginity right up front...she will tell you how she feels ...or may remain silent...that should give you , your answer......it's not like they are going to walk around with their pants down...or with a sign....it's not quite like 50 years ago when you could tella "jesabelle" by her makeup and clothing...girls like to dress sexy..it's in their software...to attract boys..it's the way they are made...and Madison Avenue only serves to intensify this with all their sexually based ads........lowrise jeans...tube tops...halter tops....string bikinis....thongs......etc.etc. Ambercrombie & Fitch...........get me?.........so while they may dres like the crowd...there is a HUGE sense of wanting to "belong", especaially at a young age.......that doesn't necessarily mena they want to have premarital sex........church is a much better place to look for a virgin , however, than in a bar........or a "heavy meat all"......erhhh....I mean "heavy metal"........concert........lol....

Will my hair fall out if i dye it two days in a row?

OK, so my friend and i got really bored so we decedied to blreach my hair. And when we were done bleching it was really light blonde and i didnt look good at all... So about 27 hours later we decided to dye it black. Now people are telling me that my hair is gunna fall out is that true?

That's a 50/50 risk, you'll have to take when you play with chemicals. Hair loss is just one of the side effects.

That's like asking, will I get cancer if I smoked 2 packs a day? Some smoke all their lives and do not get cancer, but there are those who are 2nd or 3rd hand smoke who are now carrying their oxygen tank so they can breath.

Playing with chemicals is not like playing with clothes, or doing a manicure, there are penalties for playing chemicals in the lab. Even hair color experts at the salon are not rocket scientists, they do a bang up dye jobs to their clients or their own hair.
Example: "My hair is right about armpit length as it is, but I've severely damaged it by bleaching it all at once. As a student of cosmetology myself, I would have to say that it was probably one of the worst mistakes I could have ever made."
