Tattoo ideas to symbolize my younger siblings?

So i have the idea of doing a tat of 3 wolf pups to represent my younger brother and sisters. i liked the ideas of wolves because they live and hunt together as a family and since im oldest i see it as a my job to look after them.only prob from asking people is that they think is that tats like that are usually done by parents for their kids.opinions for alternative ideas are appreciated and for sure i want a tat, so no comments like don't get one. also i have looked up tons of ideas and i don't want to do portraits or initials, btw im a guy. thank you for you input in advance
suggestions for placement? i have thought of my biceps but im scared if i build more muscle that it will mess the tattoo up, i have thought of pectoral muscles. thank you in advance

i think it's a beautiful idea. who's to say that that's a tattoo done by parents? a wolf pack is a brotherhood/sisterhood. i think the idea of a wold pack is the apitimy of being an older sibling- you are the alpha- you look out for them however you can and you do your best to keep them safe. i like it and i don't think you should ever let what some else thinks sway you. tattoos are art and up for interpretation. :)

No names huh. Hmmmmm. A really cute family tattoo that my friend has is a wing, and each feather represents a member of her family. Tho also on each feather is their name.

You could get hearts, with each heart signifying a loved one. I know you said you don't want their names, but you could have their initials placed inside.

You could use symbols. What strikes you when think of your husband. Does he keep you grounded. It's a bit cliche, but you could get an anchor to represent him. Or something else that reminds you of him. Each symbol could represent each person, your husband, and kids, and any more that you have down the road.

Maybe your family holding hands. Obviously the details wouldn't have to be too intricate, but it would be easy to add another person, though it would be difficult to make it small.

Okay well i just turn 16 and i really want to get my moms first initial in this beautiful handwriting on top of my hand, next to my thumb and pointing finger anyways. I want to get one like this year but what do i need? I heard a signed parental consent allowing the tattoo artists to tattoo me but what else? Do they have to be there? Do they pay a fee? Please help and none of that BS "you're 16 you'll regret it later" "youre going through a phase" No , i've been wanting this since i was a kid. It's my body and im going to do whatever i want to it. I absolutely believe you are sincere in your desire for a tattoo. I would not for a second patronize you and give you the, "You'll regret it later...you're just going through a phase," speech. Sounds like you've heard it. But if your parent or legal guardian won't agree to give you permission and accompany you (whatever the requirements are, I have no idea) the only mature thing to do is to wait until you meet the requirements. Your day will come.

My friend just had a baby girl and wants to get a tattoo for her but then be able to add onto it as she has more kids. She doesn't want their actual names written out she just wants something to represent each kid. She will probably get it on her lower back. Anyone have any creative ideas?

Since it will go on her lower back, how about a "family vine" instead of a "family tree" ?? She could have the vine done and add hearts or maybe flowers with each child's initials. Kinda like adding charms on a bracelet i guess....another child is born, she adds on to the vine.

For my kids I have angel wings (pink/purple colored for my daughter and blue/green colored for my son) with their initials and birthdays in the middle of the wings. I have one tattoo on each shoulder blade. I think it's really cool when people do hand or foot prints... I almost wish I would have done that with my kids, but I totally love my tattoos.

is it a good idea to get your partners initials tattooed on yourself?

ok so i know that tatoo's are on your body forever unless you pay tons of money to get them removed, but im thinking about getting my fiances initials tatooed next to mine. would you do it and why or why not?

Okay, my perspective on this has evolved, a little bit, both as I've come to learn and appreciate more about tattoos, and relationships. First, I much prefer initials over names, all across the board. I still don't like text tattoos, but if you feel the only possible way you can represent someone is through their initials, then so be it (if you can't think of a single other thing that reminds you of that person, and that would make you think of them, when you look at it, you need to re-evaluate your relationship). Second, no one ever likes to think about it, but take it from a soon-to-be-divorcee, not all relationships last. Some do, and they're beautiful, and wonderful, and perfect. But not all. Given that, consider how you feel about the owner of the initials, and your own M.O. in break-ups. Are you the kind of person who stays friends with your exes? Do you keep mementos and pictures to remind you of all the fun times you had, even though it might have ended badly? Or are you the sort that burns your exes' images in effigy? Do your friends automatically know not to refer to any of them by their actual given name in front of you?

If you're the former, get the tattoo. No matter what happens, it'll remind you of this person you love, and this time in your life. If you're the latter, don't do it. Get a heart, or a star that's his favorite color, or something else small, symbolic, and easily covered or incorporated into a greater work.

Finally, are you planning on having kids? Consider getting a tattoo that's representative of the two of you, that could be added on to, to represent the rest of your growing family. My favorite example is a tree, with flowers or fruit for each person. Or a group of animals, or a bouquet of flowers, or whatever floats your boat!
