Wdyt: girls with half sleeve tattoos?

Cali All D

Answer
Saying that tattoos are gross makes you out to be an ignorant, judgmental, prudish bitch. Just saying. Tattoos are beautiful (when done by a skilled artist. I've seen some shitty tattoos before) if someone wants to get tattooed, who the hell are you to say they're gross or stupid? It's not your place, and nobody is judging you for NOT having tattoos so why can't you show the same respect? It's not about what the tattoo will look like 50 years from now.. it's about how it looks now, how it makes you feel, what it means to you. A tattoo will fade over time and not look as great as it did when you first got it, of course. But the meaning will stay with you, as fresh and beautiful as it was the day you got it. If a tattoo makes someone happy, makes them feel better about the way they look, commemorates the life of someone very dear to them, symbolizes an experience they went through or something they love, then that is not by ANY means "gross".
I understand that people will have differing opinions on tattoos, but honestly, it's one thing to say you don't like them and a whole different thing to be rude about it.
Tattoos are beautiful, on men AND women.

Teresa, that may be your opinion, but it is still rude, bitchy, judgemental, and makes you seem ignorant and prudish.

Half sleeve tattoo on women?

Maddie

So my questions is I want to know people's opinion on women with half sleeve tattoos? I also wanna know how a women with a half sleeve feels about their tattoo after getting it and especially when you got older or became a parent? And how you feel at professional or fancy events?

Answer
I have had NO issues with being judged or looked at in a negative way. I got my first tattoo in 1993 and will be getting my eleventh the end of this month and number twelve in July. As the lady below mentioned, I am not uneducated trailer trash. I am a college graduate and I live in an upper middle class neighborhood. I have a 15 year old and a 2 year old and if I have to go to a function or meeting at my daughters school I always make sure I am dressed professionally and wear conservative clothing. I'm fortunate enough to live in the DC area, so there are a lot of different people and everyone is pretty open minded. I personally feel that a beautifully excuted tattoo sleeve or half sleeve can be gorgeous. I wouldn't change any of my tattoos, and if you are less than 100% sure you want it, don't do it! If you truly believe that you can live with them for the rest of you life, then go for it.

I really like them and I'm even considering getting one but I am curious what the general public thinks of women with them? Large tattoos, at least where I live, are typically a male thing.

Answer
I think that no matter where you go, you'll have some people who love them and some who hate them. I've seen women with them, and I think they look great. Personally, I think it's your body, and you should decorate it any way you please, and be proud of it, regardless of what other people think

What do you think of young women with tattoos?

Cinders

What is your opinion on young women (like, 18-30) who have tattoos?
Either a seductive low-back tattoo, or artsy elaborate shoulder blade tattoos, or colourful half to full sleeves?

I've asked this question in the tattoo forum, but now I want to hear from people in the general fashion boards. ;D

Answer
I think they make women look very unattractive. They are tramp stamps.

I had it done around two years ago, its a half sleeve tattoo. The woman who did it, dug too deep into the skin, which has left the outline blotchy, scarred, and is raised. She has also done it, so their is fluid retention in there.

Ever since it happened, I have been applying cocoa butter, with vitamin e, but tbh with you, it doesn't seem to be helping.

Not only is it swollen, but the tattoo looks bad also, oh and it hurts too,

Is there anything I can do?

Answer
Sorry to tell you this, but getting a tattoo also comes with a slight chance of these sorts of things happening. My cousin got a full sleeve once, but the artist messed up the upper part, and it left it quite swollen for the longest time. He eventually plucked up the courage to go to the tattoo artist what he could do to fix it and the tattoo artist was nice for a while, then got colder and didnt offer any help. I'd suggest you went to a dermatologist (skin doctor) as he can probably prescribe something that would help the swelling completely or at least be able to fix the scarring ( I take something called retinol micro pump which clears up scars--it works WONDERS)
Again, sorry to hear about the swelling , good luck!

Why do so many military men and women have so many tattoos?

Girl on Fi

Don't get me wrong- I LOVE tattoos and have a few myself.

But I've never seen such a high concentration of people with tattoos than on a military base. And most of the tattoos didn't appear to be military related. Both men and women with full or half sleeves, even some neck tattoos. Just curious on if there is a reason or trend to why so many military men and women have so many tats!

Answer
They are young full of hormones and have money in their pockets. It's a characteristic of the culture they are a part of and a right of passage as well... these are also the type of people who usually act before they think (in general while excluding the General) and if they are enlisted it's like a college massive college party with guns... They love to drink and party and go crazy because there's not much of anything better they can do except play COD...
