First tattoo, need some opinions on my idea, please?

I want the zodiac signs (girl)Gemini & (boy)Sagittarius on my upper right back. It represents me and my boyfriend. Our Anniversary is april 20, so that's when I'm getting it. I want them blended together some how, got any ideas? can someone draw me up something cool?? refer me to a friend??

By the way, does it hurt to get your first tattoo on your back in that spot and so big?? I got high tolerance to pain, so I'm not that nervous :)

My boyfriend got his first tattoo on his chest a few weeks ago it was a small one and he said it kinda hurt but he didn't cry.

I am going to the tattoo shop on April 20th, and I'm sure the guy will draw up something, but I want someone to give me some insight on the look before hand.

You will definitely need to visit the shop before April 20th if you're not going to use flash art, to give the artist time to draw you a design in time for April 20th.

I would counsel caution; getting a tattoo like this should only be done once you're absolutely certain you'll be together for the rest of your lives, otherwise you will have a giant symbol of that lost relationship emblazoned across your back.

If you are sure you'll be together and that's what you want, then I'd say go for it! It sounds like you've thought about what you want.

Yes, it will hurt, especially over the spine. Any tattoo hurts, but on your back, the closer to the spinal column it is, the more it hurts, and in general, the closer to the surface the bone is in a particular area, the more it hurts. Feet are one of the most painful places to get tattoos because of how close the bones are to the surface of the skin, for example.

I want to know what kind of shoulder tattoo would look cute on a girl? :) asap!!!!

I'd advise you to stop and think very carefully about this. A tattoo is a permanent mark, and if you just get something that will "look cute," will you still be happy with it 10, 20, or 30 years from now? A better recommendation would be to get something that is meaningful to you, something that resonates with you. Some people get tattoos to commemorate people they love, or images that have a deep, even spiritual meaning, to them. Such designs will not only be beautiful, but will also make you happy whenever you look at them for years to come.

I'll give you some examples. For my first tattoo, I got the symbol for Gemini, which is both my wife's astrological sign, and my own. The symbol is meaningful to me because the two of us are so in tune with each other that we're like twins. I got it on my ankle, so whenever I look at it, I smile :)

For my second tattoo, I got my family crest (aka coat of arms, aka shield) on my arm. The image was passed down to me by my father, who passed away at age 42 in a plane crash, so I got it partially out of familial pride, but mostly to commemorate him.

My third tattoo is all about me. It's a huge black & gray back piece of two dragons coiled around a sword, caduceus-style. The dragons symbolize strength, the sword protection. Their positioning is like that of the symbol that has been used to symbolize medicine and healing for centuries. The whole thing put together represents my desire to protect and heal those I love, and the strength I can bring to bear in order to do so. Plus, the dragons play to my love of fantasy, and my non-traditional unique personality.

Contrast that with a girl who works in my office, and has many tattoos which she regrets, most of which she refuses to show me because she's so embarrassed of them. The ones that I can see most readily are a Pabst Blue Ribbon logo on the back of her arm, and a ladybug on her hand, between her thumb and finger. I think she still likes the ladybug, but she has told me that she "hates" and "regrets" most of her tattoos.

So you need to ask yourself: Are you going to get an enduring, meaningful, beautiful piece of artwork forever inked into your skin, that you will admire and enjoy for decades to come? Or are you going to get something "cute" "asap" that you will deeply regret in a couple of years?

I have a sparrow holding a bow behind my ear, it is really tiny and can be easily hidden. Here are some suggestions for the other tattoo:

Gemini are supposed to go hand-in-hand together, so maybe holding hands as a tattoo might work. Also, Gemini represent opposites or pairs, so getting anything representative of this would works, for example; yin/yang symbol or a comedy/tragedy theater mask. Hoped this helped!

Tattoo ideas in remembrance of miscarriage for men?

About 2 years ago, my friend had a miscarriage with what would be my child. Even though it was early on in the pregnancy, it still had an emotional effect in my life months later. I can't really be around babies/ little kids because it reminds me of the child I never had and just the thought that that could of been my child. We were young, still am, but my actions taken towards the pregnancy have added to the guilt. I want a tattoo that will remind me of that child, not in a bad way but just to keep the memory of the child that I never got to see/hold. I have two skulls on my left arm and have a gap in the back about 3-4 inches wide and about a foot in length. I know it would look very slim but that is where I would like the tattoo. Something that could relate to the skulls I already have (which represent Gemini sign), something drifting or fading away. Also, no roses or anything of that nature. I would like to keep it "dark" looking but will not represent anything bad, just want to keep the relation to skulls. I would really like some ideas on this, tattoo is going to be meaningful. Thank you for taking the time to read and ideas, and please no negative comments just stick to the question. Also, no one knows about the event, except for my best friend and my ex-friend (pregnant girl). So it will be something only myself will know the meaning about.

Well you could do a sugar skull girl looking up to the sky, or looking down into her hands that are holding like a baby blanket or something. Because sugar skulls are about the day of the dead celebration which is about remembering all of those that are lost to the sting of death. Really it should be up to you though make it personal because it will bewith you forever and remind you of a big event in your life.

A tattoo shop should be able to listen to your idea and design you one. I'm getting 1 in 2 days and took a few ideas of what I wanted incorporated and the bloke has done a lovely picture to tattoo. It cost me £20 for his time but that then gets knocked off the price of the tattoo if you have it done.
