Kat Von D, if she was a he, would you care? Tattoo?

Q. All I hear is "OMG SHES SO AMAZING"
If funny because they just drew a random shop name out of a hat for the original show, so actually those are AVERAGE grade artists and she just happened to be there and happened to be a "woman" with BOOBIES and therefor all these idiots saying "her art is so great!"
Theres so many male artists that have done so much better work and yet do they have nearly the fame she does?

Face it, shes an ok artist, shes not a 50 year old fat ex biker chick(the normal female tat artist) and shes halfway decent looking so half these people saying shes the best.

Come on really? Is she REALLY that good of an artist? Are you looking at her work or something else?

Sorry its like having a bunch of men working a car dealership and then throwing in a halfway decent woman, of course shes gonna sell more.
Shes cute, she has DECENT art but please gtfo her, its pathetic so many people say shes their favorite artist just because they dont know any other tat names?

Ugh, I hate that stupid show. It's catered to people that know absolutely nothing about tattoos and it's so stupid. I agree, there is nothing special about her, she just gets a bunch of attention because she is a semi-attractive girl tattoo artist and apparently that's just crazy in our society.

I love all tattoos. Color looks best on girls, period. I do love Kat Von D's black and grey scale tattoos as well. It's really up to the person getting tattoed if they want color or not. I've seen some pretty pasty white people and the bright, colorful tattoos on them stands out really well!

I am taking a trip to California soon and while I am there I wanted to get a tattoo from the best. I wanted to get one of my baby girl which is a dog. I know she has gotta be expensive but I don't really care. I just need a ballpark area of how much this is gonna cost me. Thanks.

As already stated, Ms. von Drachenburg has expanded into other opportunities such as promoting her television program, and her line of cosmetic products under the "Sephora" name, and in making personal appearances. It is VERY rare for her to actually do tattooing herself any longer. . As she says, that is what she pays her staff to do.

If you would like to be tattooed in her shop be prepared to pay a premium price. Because of notoriety her product becomes more valuable.

Tv drama there are probably hundreds if not a thousands of artists out there that are better than her she just happens to be on tv and that is the first time in their lives that many people have seen how tattooing has progressed over the years so now people equate her with that tattooing has been a sort of more underground shadowy business until her show and others came along so now a lot of the public who wasnt previously into tattooing sees her as an icon at least once a month i get some 18 year old girl who comes in my shop telling me about how she wants to go to LA to get tattooed by Kat I always laugn a bit and tell her there are artists in her town who are better cheaper and less booked than her. the smart ones learn something and the other ones who dont usually just wanted a tattoo to change theyre image or fit on or look cool or want a cool story to tell theyre friends what they would like to do.

Okay so I want a pin up girl tattoo and obviously I want it to be PERFECT and I feel like I made a mistake in the artist I chose. I chose the best tattoo parlor in my area so I would like to switch artists. She just made the pin up really cartoonish and childish. How should I go about doing this?

I wouldn't ask your tattoo artist about any recommendations. I would go to different shops and just look through their portfolios. See who has done portraits and pin-ups and go from there. You don't have to switch the artists permanently. I have 2 artists as we speak. One specializes in something the other doesn't, so I'm going to this other one. They love that I am loyal and don't feel bad at all. They are happy I'm sticking with the shop and not leaving. BUT they don't do knuckle tattoos, so I have to go somewhere else when I want another knuckle tattoo. I won't leave them for good, but I will go somewhere closer to get my knuckle(s) done. They won't feel bad because they told me themselves that they don't do it. ALSO, I want a pin-up of a person that I have admired since I was a kid. It's not going to be a normal pin-up (a cleaner version I'll be getting...an actress from the 70's). I will be applying to Kat Von D's shop and have her do it. It's worth the wait and I will travel for it. If I can't get into her shop, I'll try a couple other woman that I like. I want a woman to do it because we can bond and really have a fun experience. After all of this though, I won't ever leave my shop. So look around and have someone else do the tattoo. GOOD LUCK! =)

Kat`s brother hired her while Kat was out of town. Of course, the new girl in the store wasn't easily befriended by everyone. She quickly clashed with the personalities surrounding her, particularly her boss'. Apparently, Kat Von D wasn't informed when her brother hired the former Rock of Love 2 contestant.
