My mom is considering letting me get a tattoo for Christmas, but am I going to grow anymore?

I'm 13 years old and my estimated height was 5'8. I am currently 5'7. If I happen to grow another inch will it mess up my tattoo if i get one? and it doesn't really seem like I'm going to grow anymore so what do you guys think?

I think you should wait. When I was your age I wanted to get a piercing, but mum thought a tattoo would be better as it's easier to hide than a lip ring. The woman at the studio advised against it though, you can just take a piercing out but tattoos stay forever; and I'm rather glad she did. Today I see kids at school with these horribly tacky tattoos; I'm sure it made sense when they made it, but this one guy has "nothing else matters" in a tacky font diagonally across his biceps, like what? And then there's this fifteen year old guy with tribals. Even the girl that was sooo cool when she got a tattoo in seventh grade; her flowers on her abdomen and side are just ugly.

If you do get a tattoo, make it small and absolutely don't make any quotes. That's what people regret the most because in a couple of years it might just look retarded.

However, to actually answer your question. You will grow, but I don't think it would mess your tattoo up much, unless you go risky and put it around your chest/tummy/hips/thighs. Women tend to never stop developing, but you probably know that best yourself.
Have you grown since last year? If you don't feel like your growth has slowed down, it'll probably continue. To get a good answer, you should visit a doctor or the school nurse; and the tattoo artist you have in mind, I'm sure s/he has an opinion.

I had my tongue pierced when I was 16 but I went out and got wrecked and bit my tongue and cracked part of my tooth off! Bad move looking back. One of my mates used to have her clit pierced. I would never get that i would be too scared!

Tattoos I have two little ones close together at the bottom of my back. I have a butterfly that me and my mate both have and we got when we were 18. I also have my husbands name I got at 19.

My husband has a couple of tribal (one he designed himself), my name and Sunderland Football Club. They are all in black and I like that on a man like David Beckham yummy. He is getting our daughters name soon when we get more money.

We like watching Miami Ink thats a great programme and the people on it are brilliant tattooists.

What is your view on women with tattoos?

I work for Raven Tattoo Care, a tattoo aftercare product, and only hear one side of the story, people who have made tattooing their life! Big tattoos on the calves, on the shoulder, the low back - do you think they are pretty and make a girl/woman look more attractive or not? You can guess where I stand on the issue, but I am curious what the general population thinks - does this make you look differently at the person, as if they are lower class/trashy - or do you see it as something beautiful, a work of art, an expression of who the person is? Just interested in opinions.

as someone who also works in the business i get to see both opinions, and agree that both are right. There are women out there who are simply trailer trash and have a tramp stamp on their lower back simply to make people look at their ass (in my opinion most v shaped flash tribal down there is simply an arrow). I do see that as an expression of who they are, trashy.

However there are others, myself included, who have a true piece of artwork on their back. The style i have looks like the flowers are airbrushed on and people always want to touch it to see if its actually real or not. Never has anyone called it trashy. i dont see it as a personal expression of anything because i didnt get it to say ive got a tattoo there or even because i like that design more than anything in the world. It was a gift from my mentor and it was more a bonding experience than anything else. i dont think it makes me any different a person than i was before.

Where would a tattoo of roman numerals look good on a woman?

I'm considering in the [near] future getting a tattoo done of roman numerals. Yes, these numbers mean something important to me. I'm not sure exactly where to get them. I've been tossing around either on my rib cage or on my back right/left shoulder blade.

Where do you think a roman numeral tattoo would look good on a woman? I'm up for any suggestions.

Well, that depends on the woman, the numerals, and their overall artistic design, really. Also, placement would be key. The ribcage area actually sounds lovely, if you're looking for a larger piece. No doubt it will be painful, but tattoos will be uncomfortable to get, no matter where you get them...you might as well get one where you really want it -- and, wouldn't mind seeing there permanently. Some of the most beautiful tattoos I've ever seen have been along someone's side, across their ribs.

If you'd like a smaller piece, I like the inside of the wrist and the lowest base of the neck, right above the center of the shoulder blades.
